I think it depends if what GPU are you using if you have only low specs of GPU you can only earn cents per day.. now many people are mining ethereum so the rewards is decreasing and many people are buying more effective and high performance GPU and increase the GPU in there mining rig..
So if you have more GPU mining its still profitable..

That is right. If you have the old GPU like the 7970, the efficiency is low, it will become less profitable soon.

If it is RX480, it is more profitable.

if you want to buy new GPU, it will cost even more dollars. Reinvest for ETH mining is not that much worthy. At least old gpu will mine something without any investment.

even 1 month ago, I was earning $1.5 from a single gpu. Today $1 is hard to earn. Still people are mining ethereum ?
I think they are still mining because they already made a profit in mining. also i think thats why the earnings in ethereum mining right now is low because many people are mining it.

with dual mining it's still above $1.5 for a 1070, actually nearly $2 depend on electricity

what about 1080 is it still profitable ?? i was planning to buy a couple specially for this . if its worth it i will go for it ... please help

The 1080 is not good for the Ethereum mining. It is GDDR5X memory, that is not suitable for the Ethereum mining.

okay maybe i will look into this new API myself

It's not an API - it's the pp_table entry in the device folder of sysfs - if you can figure out the format, read it, parse it, write to it, and the AMDGPU driver will reset and load it.

All I can read from it is binary :/

actually yes in Hash/watt ratio, but maybe not in $/Hash ratio

RX 480 does 31 - 32MH/s at under 150W.

i know but a 1070 can do 30 at 80w

Never seen 80W for 30MH/s on a 1070 - link?

i can't find it, i'll do a test myself....and post the result

libcurl error can connect anymore to anypool..... wtf

ok...it need some tweaking, but bears in mind that you can go higher with the mem, i just don't want to do it, because my gpu can not be overclocked very high with the mem, i get artifact but i know people that went at +1000...

also last drivers did something bad, i was doing better with the 369.09

i'm nly able to reproduce 28-29MH at 100w

I still count it - I stand corrected.

More power in linux - with on-the-fly runtime changes - than Polaris BIOS editor gives you with flashing (NSFW): http://ottrbutt.com/tmp/custom-editor.jpg

Goddamn I love this driver. You need to write your own tools, but the functionality is there. That's just a small part of what I can control.
is that new AMD's API?
does it allow you to change voltage?

It's the new kernel driver in Linux

yeah i found it but it states this is for amdgpu driver, which is "open source graphics driver for the latest AMD Radeon graphics cards".
does amdgpu suports opencl mining?

have control over every item listed there, and plenty more not listed besides :3

did you check it actually changes voltage?

no need for modded bios, no need for modded drivers, no need for disabled signature and other checks. Just few sliders in AfterBurner ))
at 2x price...

If you include the hash rate for the ETC, the difficulty is 20% higher. So If the ETC is not mined as much, the difficulty of the ETH will be much higher.

If ETC keep dropping, ppl will move their rigs back to etherum and 20% higher diff. But If this happens I expect the Etherum price to climb around 20% as well.

The Ethereum total hashing is about 20% higher than a month ago. I think if the trend continue, it will not be profitable for many people in winter.

That's quite ok. These rigs make great heat for winter.  Better then paying to run a heater that returns 0. I'd rather run a mining rig and at least get something back for my effort and cost of power.

I think that Nvidia are better on Mhash/W .. So if u do not have cheap energy go for it.
Otherwise AMD is the best choice.

Not in Eth.
