For me personally, ethereum remains the best choice for long term investment. The growth of ethereum is quite stable with a not too high fluctuation rate, so it is worth holding for a long time, while the bitcoin fluctuation rate is high, and I think it is suitable for trading.
My personal perspective is BTC good for HODL and ETH good for investments. for a example, if we HOLD 1 ETH probably it will reach 5K end of this year. If we invest same Eth in a good ICO probably you can get 10X from it according to ICO.
Ethereum is not only a means to participate in ICOs, ETH is much more and I think people will understand it as time goes by. At the current price in my opinion is to be purchased and keep at least six months in the portfolio, already at the end of the year you could have good earnings

wow it is hard to confirm will ETH become the best altcoin that worthy enough to hold for long term, bitcoin is very value to hold for long temr but in the potential aspects ETH will be a good choice, we still don't see all the advantages that ETH can bring to entire market, we should wait a little bit longer to see if ETH is worthy enough to rise more than itsself before.

both bitcoin and ethereum are good, any of them is the best choice for long term investment. if many people out there believes more than bitcoin, we dont have anything to do with it, if you believe on ethereum, then go for it. let other people to choose what they want.
in fact, a very difficult choice. but I still tend to buy bitcoin. now it is the most popular and most expensive cryptocurrency in the world. I'm pretty sure that by the end of 2018 its price will be above$15,000.
