they need to tell us what the real problem is. Angry

The real problem is the 'male ego'.

Real problem is antisocial people creating consumer facing companies and investing 0 in customer service.

Last  time they went down for 6 days and they had to  "finish updating DB  with all manual withdrawal , syncing wallet"
Now with x10 users in jan 2018 means 60 day wait

Again, they are just incompetent... they wouldn't keep changing their message. They'd be long gone on some tropical island.

I think they can't give coins back. They either lost/stole them, or their DB went fubar and they don't know how many coins each user really had. About two weeks ago last time I was able to login I had an order for negative amount of BTC (-0.0005 BTC or so) which wasn't coming up on active trades but was affecting the total BTC balance. Back in early january some people reported that they had more coins than they should. Maybe they are still fixing that.

I logged in today, and my balances are listed as they were before all this started. I know it is just a set of numbers in their DB and does not mean anything from the blockchain perspective. Still, for them to "fix" it, I would expect that this is the information they would need (my balance in their DB).

It is possible that there is a set of users, such as yourself, whose balances are corrupted and they don't know how to fix those. For example, those with active trades after last backup, or who were active at the time when their DB broke. This could be all the "DB issues" they are referring to. I don't see them fixing those though, if they haven't managed with all this time.

But no-one knows with this ridiculous communication. In any case, I do not have much hope any more. Just can't stop checking on this daily.. These developments are always "interesting", and you never know.. :/

To me it seems the website is coming back  Grin

yeah, sure...
To be honest the past month and half i believe that they are only under maintenance and fixing major bugs + security so this exchange to become more like others... But i start feeling that they wont do anything.

How much time was passed ? 2 months ? and still CM is not online HuhHuh
Or why they don`t say "hey , we will give you your coins back and then we will work on our servers to be back in 5 months" why ?
Why they keep our coins ?
So many "why" (from people) and so many "soon we come back online" (from them CM)

You guys are wasting your time with this pointless ''reasearch''. Maybe you shouldn't have deposited a big amount of your coins on such a crappy exchange instead of now trying to find out who they are. This is also not an exit scam since it doesn't fit the definition.
The pointless thing here is your comment which adds nothing to discussion. I've got approximately 5% of my portolio on this exchange and I don't care about that money. It's about justice, criminals should not get away with crimes, they should be locked up in jail. Exit scam is in a matter of time and everything leads up to it.

They haven't committed a crime yet and if it's true that they are trying to comeback
How should  they commit a crime? They should say "we stole your coins, losers, good bye"? We can see that there are no any changes except messages on the main page they can rotate forever pretending working on the servers. The error of a buffer is still there despite more than a month since it appeared first time and 3 new servers they allegedly bought. Maybe, those 3 not working IPs are those servers they returned to hosting?

Everyone is saying different things, coinsmarkets owner is this or that or lives here or there, that's not something user should be doing. You never know if the user is just posting the info on purpose to hurt someone that has nothing to do with the site or maybe he is wrong, everything in this thread is absolutely pointless.

yea but what can u do. its horrible to have + run 15 or 30 different wallets on one machine, especially if its ur only machine that you use for other things

Surely it is cheaper to buy an additional hard drive for your current machine or even another very basic computer, could be second hand to run your wallets on rather than leave all your coins on the exchange and risk losing them. I've lost well over $1000 by having coins on Coinsmarkets and I guarantee you it won't happen again on any other exchanges. I keep everything in a local wallet now which is encrypted the minute the wallet is installed and it's backed up everyday.

There is no need to constantly keep updating your wallet either to see what your balance is. You can just use the block explorer for your coin and input your wallet address and then bookmark it in your favourite browser and you can do this for all your coins. You would only need to update the actual wallet once a week or once per fortnight when the computer is not busy. It is half an hour of setting everything up and makes life much easier and you are not relying on anyone else to manage your coins. you then only send your coins to the exchange at the times you need to.

Hopefully you will take some advice from experienced crypto users on this board who have been through all these issues before as your current train of thought will see you lose out big time at some point. I don't wish to see anyone go through losing money so you do need to take responsibility for protecting your own coins and not leaving them in the hands of exchanges that either don't have the skills or experience to manage it properly or the more sinister intention of running off with your money. As you will have seen in this thread there is very little chance of recovering our coins via any legal channels so best protect yourself from getting caught out in the future.

New message: "We still fixing last DB issue."
I bet the next message will be "We will be in a minute". After that "We again should change a hosting because many users addressed to FBI an CIA".

FBI won't be too hostile when they reach out to the CM owners I'm sure, if they are honest....

Explain the issue to your customers or law enforcement, it's the only choice they are left with.

I saw more cloudflare messages which seem to come and go with varying time frames and maybe correlated to the ongoing fiasco of putting their site back online.  Maybe this is a good sign or maybe they are just able to manipulate what we are seeing to uphold some bastion of hope.
