Next stop at the F1 race circuit is the Algarve track in Portugal. Cool

This is gonna be interesting since it's a track with fast turns where the aerodynamic is the key part I think the Redbull can kill anyone else.

Prediction Redbull dominating with both cars and not even close.

If you never experienced a car crash , never cheer for one. It's true that a crash can spark up the race but in the same time never cheer for the crash because the impact with this cars at 300k/h it's massive and it could be fatal anytime. I even heard people saying that they don't watch F1 because there are not fatal crashes anymore like it's used to have back in the '90 which is crazy ...how could you want to watch a race where someone fatally crashes ?

F1 is still a sport where every pilot still puts his life on the line with every race he makes.
This is exactly what I am saying. There are people who defend crashes as "I do not want to see a death, I just want crash where everyone is okay" but you do not know that, you do not know if that person is okay or not until it is clear that they are okay.

Things are much safer these days, last year Romain Grosjean walked out of something unbelievable without any major issue, his hands were burned I think as far as I can remember and he is getting better every day, last I heard he was doing practice races in some other race, in any other era that guy would have been dead, in 90's he would have been dead.

However did anyone really knew he would be totally fine even before they saw him? There was a huge bulb of fire exploded everything was burning like crazy, dudes car was cut in half and he was on the other side of the barrier, can you tell me that you knew he would be fine? Nobody knew it until they saw him. This is why I hate crashes, I wish no crash would ever happen and I would just watch good driving skills alone.

Are there really people like this? It's really horrible. How would someone want a driver to have a fatal crash? You should be mental to think like that. I was really anxious when I saw the Bottas - Russell crash. Fortunately, there wasn't any injury and I was relieved after finding it out. People shouldn't see this as a game. This is reality and it's human life we are talking about.
But as a F1 driver, or a driver from any other sport, this is the risk they take when they signed up to become a professional race car driver.
It is just one of the many hazards of taking on a high risk and high reward paying job.
But as the associations have safety as their top priority in this sport.
Just trust in the drivers as they don't drive like maniacs because they all have a razor think piece of metal protecting them on the sides of their F1 cars.
So I would like to think they drive as carefully as possible at these neck breaking speeds.

Crashes are inevitable during a race.I recall very few races without incidents and those incidents spike up our adrenaline.George Russell had a feeling to pass and tried it.He is well aware of the error and already apologied to everyone. That is racing and that makes it beautiful and unpredictable.
I am not saying that crashes will never happen, all I am saying is that I do not enjoy it when it happens like other people.

If everyone is fine, that is good and it happens and there is nothing to worry about, but even on the smallest crashes like happened yesterday I feel worry and I wonder if all the racers are fine or not, and that takes away all the fun and just leaves me with a worry, sure if you just spin and got out of control and you are 100% obviously fine? That is alright, but when there is a huge crash like what happened, I do not feel like that is part of my fun understanding, it is very terrible, people died in F1 before (and f2, f3 as well) so I do not feel that cool about it until I know they are fine.

I am not saying let's never have any crash, I know it is part of it, I am just saying I do not have that much fun about it that's all.

I like to watch talents of the drivers, not action, if I wanted action I can watch action movies if I wanted something like that. I actually do not like it when there is a crash neither, I rather watch a race without any crash at all. The best race for me is the race where top three races so close to each other that each of them becomes the leader at some point, the pit stop is very dangerous and decisive, racers deciding on box or not, pit stop decision on tires, the DSR helping winners, and many other things, this should happen at the lower levels as well between each other, the 7th and 8th having that war, or 4th and 5th decided on the last lap, these are all great.

There is no need for any crash for this, it is already an amazing thing to watch it this way, when a crash happens I am just pure sad, it is not a good thing to see and I do not enjoy it, I get worried about the crash instead.

Of course no one wants to see a crash because they are always dangerous and you can never be sure that every driver is unhurt after a crash even with today's safety standards. I guess when people say they want to see action they mean overtaking, changes of positions, maybe some chaotic conditions like last race because of the rain and so on and i also have to say that i prefer to watch a race like the last one over 99% of the races we saw during the last years, because i think even die-hard F1 fans have to admit that the Formula 1 was pretty boring during the last years, because of the dominance of mercedes and also simply because of the overall state that the current F1 is in.

This may worth watching. Kimi's car and radio discussion when the crash has happened and all the debris. https://twitter.com/F1/status/1384405723732451332

Also a short summary for last race, looks pretty much accurate  Grin

I'd like to say that I really liked the drawing.  Grin  It's really a good summary of this great race.

Hamilton did a few simple mistakes and it cost him the chance of taking the lead and winning the race. Bottas-Russell accident was a big luck for Hamilton and he did whatever he could to finish at a better position after that. And he managed to finish it as the 2nd. He also had the fastest lap that helped him maintain his lead in the driver standings.

Congratulations to Verstappen. He was really great and I'm happy that he won the race.

In Formula 1, it has been a long time since the best driver wins, but above all the best car (see the last years Mercedes before RedBull). And the duels between the drivers have not really been possible for a long time due to overregulation, so Helmut Marko has often addressed some things as thoroughbred racing drivers, but the FIA has a different opinion. For me, MotoGP has been the better option for years, but everyone has to decide for themselves, at least I'm not of your opinion, but that's the way it should be.

That's why I prefer the old school tracks to watching, every mistake is punished and you end up in the gravel, not like the new tracks where you have a "parking lot" to turn around.

You do have a point, but the older/old school tracks tend to be too dangerous. And especially Imola has it's own dark history.
I won't mind if they put gravel as long as the walls are not too close and the cars don't get totaled.

It is correct that the old tracks are more dangerous, but Motorsport is dangerous at all that's not E-sports. The new tracks are safety and I think that's good, but I don't understand why there are no more gravel beds but only very generous run-off areas and I think all who have seen F1 in 1990 are think the same. Safety is important see Halo but the run-out zones that a mistake will not be punished are not necessary.

Yesterday it was nice to see with the gravel beds and that it is not that easy to came out.

Overall, a great race that had everything a fan could want from a race.

A bit too many crashes and mistakes for my liking, but yeah.. wet asphalt easily leads to that. Plus, well, it's... Imola...
Lewis was incredibly lucky to get to finish.

Hamilton was very lucky because of Bottas and Russell's accident, without the accident his mistake would have been punished higher and he would have ended up at the bottom of the field without safety car and red flag.

This season we already have 23 races, I doubt that they will make calendar even more longer. It's most likely that Miami will replace one of current circuits.

If I can recall correctly the plan is going up to 30 GPs /year in the following years reducing tests and racing in the hotter countries in the "European" Winter and ofcourse racing till December.

Do you guys like the new circuit from Miami ? I love street circuits and this one will be nuts with those tight corners.
It's difficult to tell something about track just from layout image. But I don't like street circuits, I think there is already enough such tracks in F1, espcially considering that Jeddah city track will be added this year and Vietnam next season. Most of street circuits are boring, Prefer old-school tracks like Imola. And I will be very sad if Miami will replace one of classic tracks.

IF they are planning to add more tracks I'm fine with it, more races, more fun.
But if they are change tracks for these new tracks I will be very upset.

Personally I love an old school track so I hope Imola will stay in the F1 calendar for a lot of years from now on. Remember that from 2021 the cars will get smaller in every aspect so a track like Imola will offer great shows.
