I really cant believe how bad is Bottas.

He simply shows everybody how good the Mercedes cars are, if George Russell wasn't enough last year.
On the other hand the Aston Martin cars are disappointing and Ferrari is impressively good (compared to last year) and pretty much constant.

Perez and Alonzo has great races and the golden raspberry award goes to Mazepin, although Kimi is also near...

Bottas is good enough to secure the constructor title for Mercedes every year and does not pose a threat to Hamilton. Mercedes does not need more, the car can become world champion with almost any driver pairing.

In contrast to last year, Aston Martin has a big problem with the rule changes at the rear, Alpine has solved that better and is rightly ahead of Aston Martin. The Ferrari-powered cars are still having problems, if not as blatant as last year, but are still lagging behind.

I really cant believe how bad is Bottas. He made a horrible re-launch for his teammate, after that he cant push in the front of the race and lose the possition to Hamilton so easy.

Norris seems to be so confident , and Dani Ric needs more job to do.

Yea , but I made that prediction before the qualifiers and I gave tokeweed a good reason not to pick Kimi and I hope he did not pick him. Grin

Are you ready for the race ? I call it now! Max Verstappen will win! Ham will not reach top 3 , nor will Bottas and I believe in a podium for Norris or Sainz.

Oh...  But I did!  I just couldn’t help myself.  Rofl.  Cheesy

Anyway, I think some lines that could have some value could be  the ‘who finishes with points’ market aka the top 10.  I think Alonso was lined at 5 or something.  It’s looking like the teams to finish with points consistently are Merc, RBR, McLaren, Ferrari and Alpine.

Norris is having a great few races. Dan needs to work out his problems and catch back up..

What was Kimi doing? did anyone here him after the race? I haven't had time to check out what his side of the story is..

Raceweek again!

Kimi Raikonnen winning at group 3 in quali priced at 3.1 seems like value.  Need some inputs from you guys before making the bet and while FP1 hasn’t started.  Both Williams finishing above him at the last quali seems like an anomaly and flukish to me.  What do you guys think?

Uhm , couldn't you pick another group ? This group seems way too balance so I feel like I picky randomly. If I were to chose I would go with Russel because he has something to prove after the last race and this is the best occasion for him to do so. Regarding Kimi ( still my fav driver tho ), I don't like the team strategies so even if he has a good start like the previous year, I still can't trust his engineers and strategies to put him in the right place in the right moment so it's a pass for me regarding this group.
It's easy to talk about qualification, but I think that pick between these drivers isn't that difficult. Choose between Russel and Kimi. Haas car this year isn't competetive at all this year, so Schumacher have no chance. While Latifi is worst driver in F1 after Mazepin IMO. If there will be such bet in next race, I would pick Russel, it's not first qualification when he showed solid result.

Race is after just more than hour. Does anyone really believe that Bottas can win it? Personally, I hardly see such scenario.

Everything is set up already.  Grin  The Turkish GP is going to replace the Canadian GP and it is on the same race week, June 11-13.

Despite canceling the Canadian GP, they renewed the Montreal contract for another two years, this is good news! It is a pity that this circuit is again out of F1.
Wel... I'm looking forward to seeing how the riders are going to run at the Istanbul circuit this year, I even liked what I saw last season, let's see now that the track is "more mature" (I don't know how to say it in English).

I think Turkey GP will be held sometimes this year but I doubt it can be in May so lets wait for an official response from F1 and liberty media.

Regarding the Sprint Qualifying format, it will be only for 3 races and the response from the 1st one will decide if they will go on with the 2nd and then with the 3rd one. Personally , I have nothing against this but first I need to see one in order to make my decision if this affects the show of F1 or it will boost it.

In the last season's race, the asphalt of the track was new and it was a big problem for the drivers. But now, I assume we won't see the same thing and it'll be even a better race.

As the Canadian GP is very likely to be cancelled due to the pandemic, there are two alternatives for its place now, Nurburgring GP and the Turkish GP. And it's said that F1 is considering to reach an agreement for the Turkish GP now. It would be really fantastic to see it again in the calendar.  Smiley

I am curious whether it can start in Turkey, in Turkey there is also a 2-week lockdown in May due to the pandemic, I heard. The GP track is very nice there, but I'm not sure whether it can be driven, maybe later this year?

Portimao next and just like a post above me said , Redbull will dominate with both cars this weekend in Portugal because last year Mercedes struggle a bit so I think RedBull will win it.  Will Hamilton get another pole ? Uhm, I doubt it ...this is not a Mercedes year so all this bubble around them creating hype might burst at some point and then we will see RedBull and Max taking their advantage of points to another level. I also think the winner of F1 2021 will be decided with at least 2-3 races before the end.

Exactly.

Mercedes is lacking in grip and in high speed turns like Portimao is the key point not only because they will be slower in the turn themself but because they will kill their tire earlier.
Mclaren can be really close or even ahead of Mercedes next week IMHO.

I like the Portimao track, not a new modern track but a track built in nature where the drivers and cars are challenged. And I also think that Red Bull will have a small advantage over Mercedes.

I am also curious how good the new sprint race format will be instead of qualifying, it will be tested on 3 courses this year.

Did you guys read about the new Sprint Qualifying format?

Sprint Qualifying will be a race run over 100km and lasting around 25-30 minutes. It is designed to provide a short and fast-paced racing spectacle – similar to a Twenty20 cricket match – with drivers racing flat-out from start to finish without the need to pit.

The old qualifying format will be Friday and will decide the grid for Saturday's Sprint Qualifying?

the grid for the Sprint Qualifying decided on Friday afternoon, using the current qualifying format, with cars entering Parc Ferme conditions from the start of Friday qualifying

It's going to be.. a bit strange and also more interesting. And possibly more choices for the bettors  Wink
