According to the new odds recently released it makes it look as if Hamilton is the clear favorite to win in France. Wink
Here are the available markets for the main race as the practice&qualification ones have only the winning margin offered.
That should change closer to the those separate races in the next couple of days.

^  Leclerc at 29 for the race but I wonder what his line will be for quali.  I think anything above 5 could be value considering that he’s been having good pace at quali..?  What do you guys think?

Maybe there’s just something with Ferrari and street circuits?

^  But then again that Hamilton under steer then overshoot could be an argument that Verstappen was also the more lucky guy that weekend.  Grin  From sketchiness and doubt then back in the lead again for the driver’s championship..  All in a span of a couple of hours.  Lawl.

We've left an insane race behind in Azerbaijan. One thing is certain that we've seen every kind of incidents in the race. I really wanted Verstappen to win as he had a very smooth race until his crash which was not his fault. It was like a gift to Hamilton. But he turned it down by making a huge mistake on the first turn.

Verstappen still leads the driver standings with 105 points and Hamilton is following him with 101 points.

In the end it is still verstappen who is way more unlucky here because, like you said his crash was 100% not his fault but caused by his tires and it was hamiltons own mistake that caused him to not get any points. So instead of an increasing lead in points for verstappen it only remained the same which is very unlucky for him and red bull because monaco and baku are two tracks that are not like the other tracks because they are normal city roads with less grip. In the upcoming races on the "normal" tracks with high speed corners the mercedes car should be the strongest again therefore verstappen would have really needed a bigger advantage in points going into this races.

Turning a race track into a vaccine center shows they have alot more concerns then showcasing like many other places are opening up.

There will be no race at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve as it was scheduled for this weekend. With the race in montreal being cancelled as stated here by their government due the pandemic and they had turned it into a vaccine center instead months ago:

Next one will start on June 18 and end with the final race on the 20th.

After Max' puncture I was so angry, I expected the race end even worse. And it ended surprisingly well (sorry Lewis' fans).

Ferrari was disappointing again.
Mercedes went surprisingly well and if Lewis wouldn't have pushed so hard for the first place it would have been a pretty good second place, considering that Max abandoned and it's a city race, where it has been proven that their car doesn't perform well (I mean, Bottas just in front of Schumacher and Mazepin?...)

I was super angry on both Pirelli and RBR. RBR should have learned something from Stroll's puncture. I find Pirelli hard tyres quite shite for being "hard". And the teams went by Pirelli strategy... I hope that some questions will be asked there, something is not normal...

Well, all turned exceptionally well for Perez, Vettel (wow!) and Gasly. Congrats to them. I am curious if anybody have guessed this top3  Grin

It was a chaotic end race that messed up everything but delivered pure joy with that podium as let's bet honest, Perez did a great job again, Vettel had a different strategy so he had to take care of his tyres and he did a great job and then Gasly who is so underrated and should search for a better car ( not RedBull ofc ).

Also , is it just me or Max had a strange trajectory on the circuit ( way too right ) when he had that puncture ?

Too bad about that last sector with the rule of those red flags. Bizarre actually, a teammate could still diss you by parking his car against the guardrail, and then you get code red and the remaining sector is not driven out. Verstappen is now 3rd, Lewis 2nd, Will be very exciting tomorrow. Lewis needs another win after last time when it was a drama.

Honestly it is still not looking like Lerclerc would win, sure he is in pole position but Mercedes and Red Bull have better cars and I believe they will do better. What is more possible for them is that they were fighting with McLaren on for the third spot in constructor and this looks like a good possibility that we could see them doing better, obviously not like instant situation but they do look like they could be doing better for one race at least.

At the end of the day it will once again be Max vs Lewis if you ask me, it is always between those two and will stay between those two and I do not think that it will change this race neither. I get that some races like monaco is a bit riskier for overtake, and Baku is sort of like that as well but I feel like at the top it is not like that, Hamilton will probably go beyond Charles this race and maybe even Max as well.

No no no! Don't take Mercedes guys because they really start to have big problem in that car as even they are saying that this time it will be the hardest challenge they faced so far in order to bring the balance back to the car and make Lewis fight for the title. So far , the car is not suited for street circuits so I don't expect a top 3 from Mercedes but I do expect Max to win the pole and the race.
Looks like steve was spot on about his prediction that Ferrari will do something that would surprise us all.
Saniz screwed up his car at the end of the qualifications but it allowed Lecleric to get pole going into the race tomorrow.
Just amazing!
And to top it all off Hamilton finished today in something like 9th place.
But he will be in a leaders position going into the main race tomorrow of course.

Isn't it weird that Max never won in Baku before and Hamilton keeps winning there, and Max is still ahead of Hamilton in the odds? I mean sure we know the reason, we know Max is better in city circuits with walls instead of lines, and we know Red Bull cars are better in those circuits as well, whereas Hamilton will probably rely on his ungodly talent
Well, Hamilton did very bad at Monaco, Max leads now the drivers championship and in the first two practice sessions until now the top4 was RBR and Ferrari, while Lewis has finished on 11 and Bottas on 16.
Of course, it doesn't necessarily tell that Max will win, but it surely tells that things are not so well at Mercedes.
Right now RBR seems to have to watch out for Ferrari, since the car looks solid and they made even more upgrades before Baku race.
And I could almost bet that there will be at least one red flag in the race. So whatever we calculate now it may just be blown away.
It is not necessary to draw far-reaching conclusions from the two practical sessions, although of course the results of Mercedes are again depressing, but let's not forget that Bottas had problems with the flight from Finland to Azerbaijan and had to participate in the press conference in an online format. I am sure that by qualifying, the team mechanics will find better settings, because I do not think that Mercedes will fail for the second race in a row. In extreme cases, at least one of the drivers can make it to the podium. I would not be surprised if in Azerbaijan there is a fight between Bottas and Perez, and not between Hamilton and Verstappen as usual, especially if Mercedes solves the problems with the grip on the track.

After seeing Hamilton win race after race, championship after championship, making F1 a very boring league because we all know he is the winner, this is getting a bit more fun isn't it? I mean surely we all know Mercedes and Red Bull are the only ones that can win and nobody else is even remotely close, but at least it is making it a bit more fun isn't it?
