I dont know if Russel its more faster than Hamilton this season, the main difference its Russel its mading the steps up and Hamilton the steps down, what i say its, Russel comes from a shit car and now he wants to make the best he can and he is pushing with all, and Hamilton its recovering from the last season and he comes from a god car to a normal car, so mentally their are in diferent space.

For me Russel can be one legendary driver he has all, and for me its also better than Hamilton potentially, and i think the same for Leclerc and Norris, this 3 are TOP TOP drivers.

Only thought I was being smart putting Ham on the podium, and then his joke of watching his iPad should have been a warning to me that hoping he would make up so much ground wasn't possible (still impressive no?).
The thing is, we are seeing George Russell racing much better than Hamilton this year. I guess it could be regarding Hamilton wanting the "test" car to himself so that he would be not great but he would improve much better next year at least. But that means for the time being they are just ending up with a bit of a problem. I am not saying that it is going to hurt them a lot but it is going to end up with a bit of a problem in the long run, it is making Hamilton feel a potential but making Russell think he is the best for now.

Not sure I get you 100% but also not sure a lot of people would agree Russell's racing better overall (I agree he's proving to be much stronger in coping with what he gets, whereas his teammate always comes off as a crybaby, but I can't really tell about prowess or if both were at the top of every race how it'd pan out), or that how he feels about himself has anything to do with Hamilton's choice.

Russell is definitely faster than Hamilton for a long time. I assume that they have the same cars now. So I wonder how Hamilton can stay behind him. He is continuing to race only for achieving his eight title to have a new record. But he seems even less competitive than Russell this season. Of course it wasn't possible logically already but still he has lost his championship chance mathematically too before Russell.

This can really transform into the competition between Rosberg and Hamilton. Russell is a very ambitious driver just as Rosberg and he is the future of the team obviously. He is trying to prove his quality to the team and he's done more than the expected already. If Mercedes become as fast as Red Bull next season then we would probably see Russell and Hamilton both in the championship race. Hamilton might want the team to prioritize him for the championship but it is doubtful whether Russell would be just as Bottas against him.

Told u, I already predicted the race result a few days before the race day.

1. Ferarri & Mercedes leading in Practice & Qualification.
2. Redbull take the podium.

At least we can see "Ferarri" did not make a mistake on this race, we take P2 the problem on this situation is car performance from RedBull already on the different level. Max always got the fastest lap and he was leading with the gap 15 second.

Meanwhile, Ferarri trying his best to chase but only can cut 0,2 second every lap. Is hard for us even without doing any kind of mistake. But we have a little disappointed in race Monza, the ending with Virtual Cars.

It was a well deserved victory for Max and RedBull and Ferrari was behind a lot on pace even on slicks so I don't think anyone or any car could have stopped Verstappen today from winning. Also he might be crowned champion in Singapore if he wins that one or 3 out of next 5 races and he also contest the record of Vettel and Schumi for most wins in a season. However , I'm still not having fun watching the race as I ended up watching it...

EDIT 1 : Verstappen is unstoppable...
Yeah, and this time I don't think anyone can argue it was given to him. Much faster by a distance, and really no challenge offered if we're being honest. Only thought I was being smart putting Ham on the podium, and then his joke of watching his iPad should have been a warning to me that hoping he would make up so much ground wasn't possible (still impressive no?).

A bit of Karma would do nice today in Monza and I do hope that Max won't win the race just because everyone seems to put the world in his palm and I'm the type of guy who wants to see racing on the line and not entertaining or FIA making new rules just for Max. I'm watching F1 since 98' and I've stopped watching it last race after that Yuki incident who made it even more clearly that Max needs to be a champ this year no matter what so today I'll just watch the results and hoping that Max will abandon and those yellow track suits will be on podium.

EDIT 1 : Verstappen is unstoppable...

I've already stopped watching the races too, just checking the odds of the bookmakers and the reports after the race has taken place. 11 wins out of 16... What could be worse for a whole season. On the one hand, Red Bull and Verstappen deserve such dominance, but on the other hand, it is obvious that Formula 1 is not a flexible sport and if the season develops in this way, then no one can fix anything and the very essence of the sport (competition) is completely lost.

Yeah it was a really poor ending for a special race like this.

Verstappen was already much faster than Leclerc though. Ferrari made their move by changing Leclerc's tyres to softs but this didn't change anything. Verstappen still stayed ahead of him very comfortably even though he had tyres which were worn out much more. Ricciardo's incident made the race more exciting for a second but it didn't last long. I don't know how they can't move quicker than that to pull his car out of the track. They waited for the car to be towed for a long time. We should have been able to watch the last lap at least.

Maybe Leclerc wouldn't be able to overtake Verstappen but for example Sainz would have a big chance to do so against Russell to be on podium. Russell is really lucky by the way. He waited for a SC to enter pit and he got what he wanted again. It wasn't a good day for Ferrari as a result.

What a crappy end of the race...
They could have been hurrying a little and get at least 1-2 laps without safety car...

Oh well... Max won again..
Bad luck for Checo, he has lost too many points to gain the fastest lap.
And Nyck has made points, which is wonderful!

The race has started great for Verstappen and Sainz.

Verstappen gained four positions at the beginning already and he got past Russell easily not much time after it also. He is melting the gap slowly with Leclerc now as the gap is 1.6 seconds. Sainz on the other hand has gained ten positions so far and reached 8th position. Perez couldn't have a good start I'm afraid. Red Bull called him to pit now to change his tyres to hards. However there is some smoke on his right front tyre now. This is not good for Red Bull at all. Maybe Verstappen can have a good weekend but it is important for the team to gain as many points as possible. Ferrari seem very likely to have two drivers on podium considering Sainz's current speed.

de Vries is going to have his first ever Formula 1 race so I'm also curious about what he will do today. I wouldn't blame him if he makes some mistakes because it is his first time in the end. I hope that Albon returns as quick as possible after undergoing treatment for appendicitis.

As for the big race, Leclerc has his biggest opportunity to win after a long break. He has had a really bad run for many race weeks. He couldn't win in the last four races and he didn't even see podium often. It is time to put an end to this bad time period while he is this much fast. Verstappen is still a big threat in this race despite his starting in seventh position. Leclerc needs to get away from others quickly to have a safe gap with Verstappen until he climbs to the second position. After doing so the only thing needed is that Ferrari don't screw up things in pit. Hopefully Leclerc doesn't have any accident or issue with the car.

I think Ferrari can take the win at his home race.

Obviusly, if they dont make any mistake.

But i dont see the clear advantage in favour of them, so they have to take care of RedBull and Max Verstappen.

Well said. Also with the grid penalty Max has got, Leclerc clearly has a bit of advantage.
Even more, Alonso, Ricci, Lando Norris or Russell may give some hard times to Max, meaning lost time and extra tyre wear, all playing in the favor of Leclerc.
We will have to see whether the RBR cars are still that much better than the rest, like they were in the past 2 races. It may be a close call (and hopefully a race very nice to see). Right now Leclerc seems to have a slight advantage.

My eyes are also on Nyck de Vries, I wish he gets some points.

So, we have Leclerc (pole position) and Russell (6th) in the front row. I like that beginning of the race. All the drivers which were between them are moved back because of penalties (Hamilton, Perez, Sainz & Verstappen). Who knows for how long they will stay on the first positions - maybe until the first corner only Smiley

I am really glad Russell will have a good starting position.

There are so many grid penalties already before the Monza GP. The current list is like this:

- Verstappen to take 5-place penalty for changing his internal combustion engine
- Perez to take 10-place penalty for installing a brand new engine
- Sainz to take 25-place penalty for changing to a new energy store
- Hamilton to start from the back of grid for changing his power unit
- Tsunoda to take 10-place penalty after he violated a rule in the last race
- Bottas to take 15-place penalty for making a similar change to Sainz

The source: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/verstappen-perez-sainz-join-list-of-monza-f1-grid-penalties/10366260/

This might seem like an opportunity for Leclerc but there is no need to be hyped about this. Because Ferrari are still not faster than even Mercedes these days. For now, Ferrari seem like they are faster than Red Bull and Mercedes both in the practice sessions. But this can be very misleading at the same time. Red Bull might be saving their real power for qualifying and race as always. At least Ferrari can do their best this weekend to make their fans happy.

By the way there was a really close competition in FP2 among Sainz, Verstappen and Leclerc  Smiley :

One thing we have to notice its, in this track the 0.1s are like 0.2 in other, because of the high speed straights and the short of the track.

Let me be honest with you.

Ferarri & Mercedes take the lead on Practice & Qualification, after that Redbull takes the podium during the race week. Monza was the temple of speed, even me as Ferarri fans by seeing the performance from Redbull on Spa & Zandvoort.

We all know, Redbull power unit performance is on goat mode. Monza need a good speed, even Leclrec say he not really confident due Monza track need a good speed since is the temple of speed.
