It is the regret of many that Italy is not in the World Cup. The World Cup begins and there will be no team in the blue jersey that the football world could have ever imagined. For example, the World Cup cannot be imagined without Brazil, Argentina or Germany. But after 2018, the football world is watching the World Cup without Italy. Football is an extremely always competitive sport and this is an example in case of Italy.

What can be called the absence of Italy in the World Cup - it it an accident? The team that showed extreme power just one year ago and became the best in Europe, they could not pass the qualifying round of the World Cup! This can happen on the playground. But losing to North Macedonia and missing out on the World Cup is hard for the Italians to accept. But it is hoped that in the future they will definitely playing and keep in mind this incident.

Italy was not present in 2018 fifa worldcup either. Already we have 13 teams from Europe, so it doesn't matter if anyone is missed out. Germany too is going home despite beating Costa Ricca 4-2. Japan is showing great performance from day one, they have beaten top teams like Germany and Spain but failed to beat Costa Ricca that's something strange since Costa Rica is weakest team of group E.
there is nothing to regret, those who enter the world cup are the best teams that have passed the Qualification, the thing about Italy that failed to qualify was caused by their declining performance.
Germany's failure to qualify is also not surprising because they failed to win in their opening match against Japan.
what was surprising was that Japan was able to win this group because previously it was Spain and Germany that were the favorites to qualify from the group, but Japan made a surprise by being able to beat the two top European teams.

Germany was not in form this fifa they didn't perform well to qualify for the next round.  The teams who performed well and won their matches made their way to the next round . We have seen some new teams and names in this world cup who have not performed in previous world cups but in this word cup their improvement and growth is impressive and visible.

Japan has shown some wonderful performances ,same is with Morocco and some teams are out of this world cup although they are favourite like Belgium.

We have seen so many surprise results in this tournament so far that I am sure we will see surprise results in the remaining matches. Everyone was surprised that Japan was the leader of their group.
The points of the teams in the group are so close to each other that we wouldn't even be surprised if Costa Rica instead of Spain had reached the quarter finals Cheesy

One Japan goal was very controversial for me, even though there are rules about the decision but I think it was clear it was an out ball. Even though the result can no longer be changed, I still can't accept the referee's decision because if this match ends in a draw then Germany will be the runner-up because of the goal advantage. Difficult to accept because this is a big tournament which of course must have a fair decision, even though there is already a VAR system but this decision is still a controversial decision.
I just can't accept this decision that I think is unfair, even though I'm also not a fanatical supporter and am more neutral.

But yes, with this controversial decision, in my opinion, becoming a tournament may not be interesting, because after all, a fairer decision will certainly make this big tournament look cleaner and healthier.
For the remaining matches of the next two groups, I don't think they will be too competitive, because I think teams that still have a chance to qualify, such as Uruguay and Serbia, will not be able to do much. Because Uruguay and Serbia will play against teams that will certainly be able to maintain their position as group runners-up, because Switzerland and Ghana are clearly better at this moment.

I can't believe it, tell me this is a daydream because this would never have happened in the real world
I don't understand how this could have happened, of course I'm happy about it
but i honestly thought it impossible (and i lost my bet)

Japan struggle was extraordinary, the two wins obtained from the top teams in Group E made Japan qualify for the knockout round as group winners. While Germany was completely unlucky, a win over Costa Rica could not help it qualify for the knockout stage. Germany, who earned the same points as Spain, had to settle for being in third place due to goal difference from Spain.
Spain couldn't have deliberately let Japan win to get rid of Germany. The match statistics show that Spain really dominated the match, because a bad finish made Spain unable to find additional goals that could save them from defeat.

This World Cup has already brought many surprises, the elimination of Denmark, Germany, Belgium and probably Uruguay was or was not foreseeable. But I'm always happy for underdogs like Morocco, Japan and Australia.

This way, everything remains more balanced than before and also exciting for spectators outside Europe and South America. Unfortunately, I miss "Azzurro" Italy a bit in the whole World Cup, but that's just the way it is when you don't show full concentration in the qualifiers.

For today, I have the feeling that Portugal, South Korea, Brazil and Switzerland will advance.

The goal scored by Ritsu in the 48th minute of the second half was really cool. but Japan's second goal should not have been legal, because it had purely crossed the line. however, the referee still endorsed the goal. although the VAR, has provided an explanation of the controversy after this match. this controversy is of course very detrimental, I am not sure about this decision.

In the second half of the match, we saw that the Japanese defense line was so tightly packed that the Spanish players struggled and did not find any gaps to score goals. In the end, with this result, Japan won Group E and Spain had to settle for being runner up. Too bad, Germany has to go home quickly in this world cup championship. What caught my attention in today's match was the South Korea vs Portugal match. it could be that South Korea gives a surprise to subvert Portugal, although the probability is very slim.

Anyone have any idea why Ghana has such a high odds?
I think more than 4 odds on Ghana is a lot, considering the fact that Uruguay has not scored in this championship, but Ghana looked very good. Even with the Portuguese, they fought to the end and were not afraid to play open and attacking soccer.

Well, Serbia and Switzerland will be an interesting match with equal chances to win. Although the chances of Switzerland is probably a little bit better because of the more stable game than Serbia.

Of course, the teams that have secured entry to the next round can afford to relax during the passing matches, as it was in the France-Tunisia and Spain-Japan matches, I think the same will happen in the Portugal-Korea match and then Uruguay needs to win with a big score.
This group H match is an exciting match, because there are many possibilities that Uruguay still has a chance to qualify, if Uruguay wins against Ghana in the match tonight, Korea has very little chance of qualifying but the world cup always has surprises for it like Tunisia beat France yesterday

but I think Portugal will win in the match against Korea even though Portugal has confirmed to qualify for the knockout round. I hope they don't underestimate the Korean game

Somehow I still wonder why Japan couldn't go pass Costa Rica but was defeated 1:0. However beating these two great footballing nations at same tournament is really a great achievement for Japan. You will wonder how this is possible but the Japanese players take advantage of athletic and gymnastic fitness and speed to outrun their opponents. I think it is a good advantage and you see them returning to defend anytime they lose the ball. It is a statement that they have made in the world cup against any opponent.

Football is now giving everyone a chance to showcase their talents, and no one stands out when it comes to a match or game of football, which is extremely entertaining.

This reminds me of the advantages of globalization. I think the benefit is now coming down with the upset that we have seen in this tournament and to say but few, just the first round. Perhaps we could see more as the game proceed. The benefit of missing up in the term globalization that footballers leave their country to play high class football else where is showing and it now drives home the fact that national team is different from club football. A club can decide to buy any footballer they so desire and cluster all world class players in one team but the case is not like that in national team.

Football is becoming very interesting these days as almost all of the teams with too much value in the presence of fans are now disappointing fans. Take Germany and Belgium as examples; nobody expected Germany to be eliminated in the last World Cup after winning the trophy in Brazil in 2014, and now they are eliminated in the group stage again, which is twice after winning the trophy. Belgium, a very high-level team with world-class players, was also eliminated in the group stage.
Football is now giving everyone a chance to showcase their talents, and no one stands out when it comes to a match or game of football, which is extremely entertaining.

There is no other choice for Switzerland other than to win against Serbia because Switzerland currently has 3 points. If Switzerland draws with Serbia later, then it is feared that Cameroon can make a surprise by defeating Brazil who can be sure to qualify because they have secured 6 points in Group G.

In my opinion, Portugal will aim to win Group H to make it easier for them in the round of 16 which will be against the runners up in Group G. Against South Korea, Portugal is enough with a draw, but Korea wants to win.
I am very sure that some of the main players like Cristiano Ronaldo will not be used from the start by their coach against Korea. Group H will be very tight later in the match. I hope Ghana qualify to accompany Portugal.

The results in Group E turned out to be a surprise for many fans. By the way, the funny fact is that Japan lost the match to Costa Rica but somehow miraculously managed to beat such strong teams as Germany and Spain. So it looks like Japan will meet Croatia in the knockout stage, and I wouldn't be surprised if Japan wins again. However, the quarterfinals will probably be the last round for Japan in this tournament because Brazil will most likely be its opponent there.

Just like you said, it's unbelievable. I lost hope of Japan qualifying when they lost to Costa Rica and Germany draw with Spain. I was certain Spain would win Japan and top the group with Germany coming second. I prayed and hoped for Japan to qualify because they were really good when I watched them against Germany.
Now, not only did they qualify but they topped the group. I would have liked it more if Both Japan and Costa Rica qualified but I'll take this one.

Same thing goes to Morocco. I never thought they'd qualify out of a group that had Croatia and Belgium. Not only did they qualify, they were top of the group. It's truly unbelievable. This is what we've come to see. This is why we wait 4 years for the world cup. The world cup is really worth the wait.

this is very nice
seeing new teams is good for football, in my opinion
i love japan and its philosophy of life, i would have loved it to do well at the soccer world cup, but i knew it was impossible
so you understand my emotions
I'm happy, of course, and I don't even believe it Cheesy I think it's a dream

There are unexpected group winners and teams which goes home earlier than expected, but that's sport. Belgium, Germany, Mexico... Do not forget Italy does not play at all. Spain was in a good situation, so maybe that's why they lost. Argentina was winning 2:0 with Poland and gossips are they were told not to score more goals because it would make Poland go home, so with 2:0 both teams were 'happy'.
I think that now all will be more "normal".  I expect France easily win with Poland, Japan will probably have difficult times with Croatia. But of course we cannot exclude 'surprises', like for example Poland will play 6-2-2 so it will be impossible to score a goal, they will do 1 fast attack, Lewandowski will be stopped/kicked and he will score a penalty goal...

Who is going to win? I do not know, but I think Argentina has really good chances.

I don't think that Spain lost because they didn't try to win as they were in a situation where they are 99% qualified for the next round. If by any chance Costa Rica managed to win against Germany and Spain lost to Japan, it would make Spain go home too. Besides, Spain really looked like they want to win. They were attacking and almost all the time in the last 30 minutes the ball was in Japan's half. But they couldn't brake Japan's defense. They had few chances to score, but couldn't. While I almost fell asleep in the first half, the second half of the game was really great to watch.
