Wow! That's a pretty high confidence for a team that just recently broke history by qualifying for this round in their first time. whatsoever Morocco is as a surprise to anyone watching this women world cup and I for one has been amazed by their excellent performance. Although it's quite clear that African teams have done pretty well this time looking at the likes of Nigeria and Morocco who has already qualifed for the next round.
Morocco made history in both Men's And women's World Cup whether in Qatar or in Australia and New Zealand. In Men's competition they were able to reach the semifinals. This time I don't know if their Women could pass France in the round of 16. Odds for Morocco are x16 vs 1.17 for france. Nigeria x12 and South Africa x10. That's quite a sad ending for the African team in this competition?

Morocco did pretty well yesterday against Colombia and they got the 3pt they needed to qualify to the next round, this qualification made Morocco the first Arab county to qualify to the round of 16. It will make them stronger to face any team that come their way.
With Nigeria, South Africa and now Morocco still keeping and giving Africans hope that something good can still be done, that alone is something to be motivated about, I just wish for this African countries to do well and get into the next round, it will be a thing of joy if these 3 countries are still in the tournament till the semis.
Good luck to Nigeria, South Africa a d Morocco.

Morroco won after playing the last match in the Women World cup, not only did they lead by 1 goal, they also held into Colombia pressure even when they wasted more time with tatics to delay Columbia from having a goal in the end of the minutes, my problem problem is how they are going to continue their journey after this level because from that match, Columbia played them by possession, they had great pass accuracy and more shorts that Morocco. If that match has been a regular match, I believe that Columbia would have equalized that goal and add extra goals to Morocco because they are not match at all but all the same, Congratulations to them but France will do the final judge of their journey from here in the round of 16.

Alot of surprise has occurred in this world cup, the FIfa ranking has to be revisited after this tournament.
Africa team should be ranked high, they have really done well in this world cup and probably they will make it to the final, I wish one Africa team win this tournament at the end of the day. Either Nigeria or Morocco.

Germany, Brazil and China are all out, big team as such, not making through to the group stage. It's shocking seen A big name and Fifa number 2 not making it to the knockout stage in history of their appearance in female world cup.
I feel like that should be based on coefficent like uefa does. That way whichever continents teams gets the most points, should get the most teams joining as well. Look at Premier league and look at Scotland league, are they sending same amount of teams? Of course not, and that is why I feel like it would be smarter to just end up with a good result and then getting more teams involved.

Let's assume African teams beat everyone else, then they should send the most team, or if they are better than expected, then they should send more than right now. That type of result based things are always better because if you do that once and always get it, that makes no sense, so you should always have a dynamic changes based on results.

That is a surprising result from todays group match South Korea 1 - 1 Germany,
and surprising that Germany ended up 3rd in the group and they being ranked
number 2 on world rankings behind the USA.

Its round 16 on Saturday and there are some unlikely qualifiers for that round
taking the places of higher ranked teams, South Africa, Jamaica and Morocco
for example.

The match between Sweden and the United States is going to be a cracker,
whoever wins this could potentially be the outright winners?

I think this would be way too early to call the winner from the Sweden vs. USA match the outright winners. As much as it was a surprise that the German women are gone already, it can also be said that more surprises might be in the making.

One very interesting game is the one between France and Morocco. The odds are very one-sided here but who knows. It would be nice to see the women from Morocco to follow suit and play as well as the men did in Qatar. Wink

Ah youre right actually, there are still some decent teams to consider like England,
Spain and The Netherlands.

As someone mentioned a good few pages ago, the tournament is going to get
more interesting from tomorrows kick off with the knockout stage. A lot of new
teams still in it and some of the top teams not performing to expectations.

What is going on with Morocco? Back in Qatar 2022, they surprised everyone by reaching the semi-finals. Managed to defeat strong teams like Portugal. But they lost to France in the semi-finals. Will it repeat this time as well? Will they lose to France? Middle-East and North Africa is a very conservative society and it surprises me that a team from this region has made it to this far in the women's world cup. And I am quite happy that CAF and AFC teams are performing well in this tournament so far. Last one was dominated by the UEFA teams (2019 World Cup).

This world cup is one of the best for the African continent. The just have four participants and three have qualified for the second round. Nigeria, South Africa, and Morocco have moved to the next round except Zambia which was knocked out. FIFA will have to consider increasing the slot of CAF nations because their performance has really shown that they deserve more. Hopefully one or two of them might make it to the semifinal like Morocco did in Qatar.

The FIFA Women's World Cup will start tomorrow between the two teams Japan vs Norway. I hope to enjoy a very nice match between the two teams. But I am a little worried about which team to support in this match. I hope Japan is the winner.  will play well in the match. However, starting from the goalkeeper of Japan, all the other players can play well, then the Japan team will have a big chance to win. The chance of winning the match will depend on the performance of the Japan team. If the players of the Norway team play well, if they can do well in this match, both teams  A lot of fights will be seen in between. But I hope Japan will do well in the match.

Just like the world cup in Qatar, this female world cup has brought so much intrigue and surprises. Many high-rated clubs have been knocked out. While teams that were not expected to make any impact have made a great impact. Highly rated teams like Brazil, Germany, Canada, and  China,  have been knocked out. I can't wait to watch the round of sixteen games. I know that there are still more surprises on the way.

I really wasn't expecting this women's world to be as interesting as it has been. Am shocked at the ousting of Germany and secondly Canada. They were and have always been top contenders, but I guess this isn't their time to shine.
For me, I agree with anyone who thinks England is more likely to win the cup. I also would agree that more slots be opened to more countries who have a good and active women's team and management body, both for other African countries as well across the continent.

Spain vs Switzerland match will be full of attacking play between the two teams, the team that can win will be selected for the quarter finals. Spain women's team has performed exceptionally well and if they can fight well against Switzerland women's team, they will definitely be selected in the quarter finals. Although it is difficult to predict which team will win, betting odds on various casino platforms suggest that Spain women's team is stronger than Switzerland. I noticed the Odds for this match are Spain @1.35 draw @4.75 and Switzerland @9.50, according to Spain to win.

Norway Women vs Japan Women, the team game has the potential to be a great attack between the two teams, both teams are strong enough. Especially the Japan women's team played the best and they performed almost brilliantly in every match, if they play well they can definitely win against Norway. But if Norway can attack well against Japan then the game is likely to be a draw. Norway probably won't catch up with Japan because the Japanese women's team plays better than the other teams and their attack is great. In terms of betting, Japan women's team is definitely more likely to win. While betting Odds between the two teams are Japan @1.80 draw @3.50 Norway @4.75 , Japan is more likely to win. However, the team that can attack well in the field will win and will be selected for the quarter finals.

Who could have thought that Brazil will be eliminated after group stage already. Goaless draw with Jamaica and it means that glorious career of Marta in Brazil national team comes to the end, While Jamaica managed to reach next round with just 1 goal scored and 0 goals conceded in 3 games. Amazing stats.

I dont see any particular difference from men soccer but I was bored, surely this was caused by the really crappy performance of my national team. that is, of Italy, a truly unforgettable performance. I was hoping that in the womens championship we were better, but instead..

Morocco were very aggressive from the start as their main objective was to reach the knockouts. But due to luck, both Colombia and Morocco reached the knockouts. Because the number of points in their point table was 6 points. The win against Colombia increased Morocco's points, and the goalkeeper did a lot to prevent a Colombian goal, but the defenders had bad performance for the time. But Colombia missed several attacks that failed to succeed.

The victory by Morocco made Germany eliminated from the group phase and from that group Morocco and Colombia qualified to play in the knockout round.
Seeing Germany unable to win against South Korea was quite strange because they really controlled the game, and it showed an unequal match not only in terms of ball possession which Germany did control but in terms of the accuracy of ball passing South Korea was not as good as Germany.
It can be said that Germany has experienced a decline in performance from the first match where it won with a landslide score but the second match failed to win over Colombia and could only draw against South Korea which did not show them as one of the stronger teams.

German striker Alex Popp will actually compete with Japanese midfielder Hinata Miyazawa in terms of top scores because both of them have scored 4 goals, with Germany already eliminated, the Japanese player will have the opportunity to become the top scorer at the World Cup especially Japan, performing quite well so far, so she will have the opportunity to continue to add to the number of goals.
The team that's really got me suprised is the Japanese team, they're my least expected to go this far or have such good performances, they've qualified for the round of 16 finishing above Spain in group C,  toping  the table with about 9 points and 11 goals which means thaf they've not conceded against any team yet and I think they're currently the only team with such record, they start there winning streak in their group with a 5-0 win against Zambia, 2-0 against Costa Rica, and 4-0 against Spain to end the group stage and qualify for the next round of the competition, so far their midfielder hintana is among the top goal scorers in the competition and with Germany disqualified it means she stand a chance of coming top if she gets a goal against Norway tomorrow in the round of 16, the Japanese women have turned out to be very strong contenders of the tournament and if they continue with this form and get a win against Norway it means that they'll stand a good chance of reaching the finals, at the beginning of the tournament odds for them to win the trophy was about 100 but currently it's 33 that's means they stand a good chance however I still believe the win of the tournament would be either England/USA  if Japan fails to win it.

Nigeria vs England

It's going to be a tough game for my country women but I'm confident that they would win and possibly give England a run for their money. It's real impressive how African teams in the tournament has fare so far.

Once again, I'm stuck between picking an underdog vs top dog and I'm going with the underdog because I feel like the team is superb and also because my pick is influenced by bias.

Monday is not far away.

Morocco made a surprise by passing the Group stage thanks to a victory vs Colombia and the draw the German team made! Germany won 6 - 0 vs Morocco then Morocco qualify and Germany leave the World Cup!
South Africa made it too, kicking Italy and Argentina from the competition. Brazil wasn't lucky too along with Portugal and Canada.
South Africa will face Netherlands, Nigeria vs England and Morocco vs France will be challenging for the African team at this point

Yeah imagine that a team who list by 6 against another team made it out and the winning team didn't lol.  That's why betting girls soccer is so difficult.  You wouldn't see that happen on the men's side.  If someone gets licked like that by any team they never make it out.  Makes the US getting through look better though lol.
Yeah quite strange! Myself didn't believe Morocco made it before reading the news twice. It was clear that Germany is favourite and they will make it, such failure was disastrous. Germany isn't well honestly even with Men competition these years.
UEFA Women's Nations League will start in September and they would better advance in this competition to forget about their failure.

Last round in group H was such drama until very final minutes. Especially when in both games there was maybe 15 minutes of additional time played. For Korea it was almost impossible to get out of group, but they took Germany to go to airport together. Germany can blame only themselves because on final round everything was in their hands. Today's scenario a bit reminds me 2018 men's World Cup when on final round South Korea also eliminated Germany.
Now it's time for playoffs. Probably most interesting pair is Sweden - USA. I just remind that when last time these teams faced, it was Olympic Games in 2021 and Sweden won 3:0.

Really an intense ending to the group and one of the main favorites of the group went home. Germany had an easy match up but just couldnt win. Womens football keeps on surprising. Im also not shocked with the additional time ,the same thing happened on mens world cup so it was expected here aswell.

For now, no team is more technical and has the quality of players like the English side. The Nigerian team will be relying on luck to beat the Lionesses because the latter is a far better team.
I see the Lionesses as quite an easy game. They've been performing well in their last games but I really don't see any need for the falcons to be so scared of them. To me their opening game with Canada was more frightening than this, all what the girls need to do is to apply seriousness and focus in the game and this can be quite easy, especially knowing now that FIFA would pay the winners and those who were still participating directly to their accounts because the issue has really bothered the super falcons.
Football has always been full of surprises so I won't be quick to say who the winner of the game might be even though sports booker's will clearly choose England as favorites.

It is emotional to see the Reggae Girls of Jamaica becoming the first team in the Caribbean to make it to the second round of the world cup. In their first world cup appearance, they lost all their games and conceded twelve goals. But even in the face of financial problems they have already made history.
I read how they were able to fund their trip to the tournament through the use of GoFundMe and I hope that their passion to excel gets rewarded.
