This edition of FIFA Women's World Cup is the most successful for African teams as for the first time in the history of the competition, three African teams made it to the round of 16 and that's a good development to the African women's football.
Out of the three African teams that made it to the round of 16, Nigeria is the best in terms of quality of players and in FIFA ranking. However the most successful African female team will face England women's team which will surely be a big test for the super falcons. Though the English team are favorites to win the game, Nigeria can as well defeat them and reach the quarter final

Last round in group H was such drama until very final minutes. Especially when in both games there was maybe 15 minutes of additional time played. For Korea it was almost impossible to get out of group, but they took Germany to go to airport together. Germany can blame only themselves because on final round everything was in their hands. Today's scenario a bit reminds me 2018 men's World Cup when on final round South Korea also eliminated Germany.
Now it's time for playoffs. Probably most interesting pair is Sweden - USA. I just remind that when last time these teams faced, it was Olympic Games in 2021 and Sweden won 3:0.

The Nigeria women's team will play against the England women's team, which has a higher chance of winning the Women's World Cup due to their beautiful performance in matches played so far. Nigeria has been playing better than the other African nations you mentioned. Although the scoreline of the fight between the two countries(England vs Nigeria) is a 50/50 game. But if I were to roll the dice for both teams, I'd say that England has a higher chance of winning against Nigeria's team and also winning the women's world cup.

I think this would be way too early to call the winner from the Sweden vs. USA match the outright winners. As much as it was a surprise that the German women are gone already, it can also be said that more surprises might be in the making.

One very interesting game is the one between France and Morocco. The odds are very one-sided here but who knows. It would be nice to see the women from Morocco to follow suit and play as well as the men did in Qatar.

Yeah imagine that a team who list by 6 against another team made it out and the winning team didn't lol.  That's why betting girls soccer is so difficult.  You wouldn't see that happen on the men's side.  If someone gets licked like that by any team they never make it out.  Makes the US getting through look better though lol.

All the three matches of the African teams were really tough and they'll somehow try to give the best. Rest is the fate, and one more geographical African country Jamaica is on the list. Though it is a North American country many think it to be an African country. Next few days were going to be very interesting as the knockout matches will decide the quarter final qualifiers. Based on the rank list from FIFA, England, France and Netherlands were at the 4^th, 5^th & 9^th position while Nigeria(40^th) is the only team placed in the top 50 on rank table.

Morocco made a surprise by passing the Group stage thanks to a victory vs Colombia and the draw the German team made! Germany won 6 - 0 vs Morocco then Morocco qualify and Germany leave the World Cup!
South Africa made it too, kicking Italy and Argentina from the competition. Brazil wasn't lucky too along with Portugal and Canada.
South Africa will face Netherlands, Nigeria vs England and Morocco vs France will be challenging for the African team at this point

That is a surprising result from todays group match South Korea 1 - 1 Germany,
and surprising that Germany ended up 3rd in the group and they being ranked
number 2 on world rankings behind the USA.

Its round 16 on Saturday and there are some unlikely qualifiers for that round
taking the places of higher ranked teams, South Africa, Jamaica and Morocco
for example.

The match between Sweden and the United States is going to be a cracker,
whoever wins this could potentially be the outright winners?

If indeed they are saving their energy for the matches in this phase because they know they will definitely qualify this could be a good thing for USA but of course it is also still one of the speculations whether it is true or not.
If it is true then as you said, now is the right time for them to make a breakthrough especially in this phase if they don't go all out then they will be finished.



btw currently the odds are also quite interesting in my opinion because both clubs have a fairly large return but on the other hand with odds of more than 2 it indicates that the bookie is also a little doubtful about USA.

This was definitely an unexpected outcome, but I think that this trend will continue as women football will also continue to develop and improve and players from all around the world can join the top leagues and gather experience there. Since there is a high degree of mobility in today's world, no player is really restricted from playing for a top team abroad only because they live on another continent. Most of the teams have some stars who play for some top team.

LOL.. this was one of the shittiest matches in this tournament. But again, it confirms the overall trend of CONMEBOL and UEFA teams losing out against teams from AFC and CAF. But the most surprising fact is that Colombia still finished at the top of points table in Group H, while Morocco finished as the runners-up. And Germany failed to qualify for the next stage. When the tournament started, everyone was expecting Germany to top Group H. European teams have in general performed poorly this time. Germany, Italy, Portugal and Ireland are examples.

today we had two games, I didn't watch the two games live but I could see the highlights of the two games, I confess that I had to watch the videos on several youtube channels and I also saw these on the fifa website, because for some strange reason when i see the highlights on the fifa website the video has some annoying pauses, i don't know if this is just my side or not. anyway the most important thing and what I went to see in other sources and from what I could see the game was a little balanced with more real chances of goal for the Colombian side, but the problem on the Colombian side is that the players are very individualistic , if you were not playing as a team and stopped being selfish then the result of this game would have been different

speaking of morocco, the morocco player missed the penalty, but was lucky to recover the ball thanks to the bad defense that the colombia goalkeeper had and with that morocco managed to score a goal, but after that goal morocco did not managed to cause some real danger to the defense of colombia, I think that in the next match between morocco and france, the moroccans will not have many chances, i see that they will lose in this game against france. another game today was between south korea and germany, both teams no longer had a chance of passing to another stage

with that they just played to meet the schedule, it really is quite sad the phase that germany is going through, they are not doing well in men's soccer and they are not doing well in women's soccer either, which is something strange considering that germany is a country where there are many people who play soccer and there is the bundesliga and bundesliga 2 which are very competitive and could be a source of inspiration for women in germany to play better and for men too.

Morocco were very aggressive from the start as their main objective was to reach the knockouts. But due to luck, both Colombia and Morocco reached the knockouts. Because the number of points in their point table was 6 points. The win against Colombia increased Morocco's points, and the goalkeeper did a lot to prevent a Colombian goal, but the defenders had bad performance for the time. But Colombia missed several attacks that failed to succeed.

The bright part of the game is that both teams qualified for the next round with Colombia topping the group on goal difference. The game was a total battle with Colombia having the upper hand in terms of ball possession. But the North African team was determined to qualify for the next round so they were very offensive. Colombia couldn't connect well in the attack so we saw so many individual performances. Morocco is one of the underdogs in this competition and so far, three low-rated African teams have qualified for the second round. While many highly placed teams have been knockout from the competition. Hopefully, we might have a new set of semi-finalists in the world cup.


For now, no team is more technical and has the quality of players like the English side. The Nigerian team will be relying on luck to beat the Lionesses because the latter is a far better team.
It is emotional to see the Reggae Girls of Jamaica becoming the first team in the Caribbean to make it to the second round of the world cup. In their first world cup appearance, they lost all their games and conceded twelve goals. But even in the face of financial problems they have already made history.

The performance from the African teams were the big discussion of the ongoing season of FIFA Women's World Cup. In the knockout stage matches we can expect more surprises. England stands strong as the favourite to win the trophy. However the determination from the small teams were great and the same will keep them going forward. Japan is the only team on the knockout stage, with its tremendous performance I believe Japan can reach the quarter finals.

Colombia are lucky that this game was not a game that was going to decide if they will qualify or not because they already had six points from their first two games. The women Moroccan team seem to want to make record as their men team did in the last where they played very well unexpectedly and were able to knock out teams as big as Portugal from the competition to qualify for the round of 16. The women team are en route to achieve what the men achieved, even more.

Proud moments for Africa, having countries from the west(Nigeria), south(South Africa) and North(Morocco) still representing them.

The two teams from Group H that have been selected for the knockout stages today are Colombia and Morocco. Although these two teams made it to the knockout stage due to points, both teams lost the match 1-0 to the opposition, but both teams made it to the knockout stage.
But on the other hand, South Korea and Germany both played against each other and drew today due to which they did not gain any points and both teams were eliminated from the knockout stage. Although Germany was supposed to be selected for the knockout stages today, both teams had to withdraw today due to a draw with South Korea. And on the other hand, Morocco women's team won the match and increased their points while Colombia had their highest points due to which they were knocked out today, both teams were selected to be ahead by only one point.

Anyway, both teams have registered their spots in the knockout stages of the World Cup. However, a team Morocco who making its first appearance, reaching the round of 16 is a big achievement. It is undoubtedly a historic achievement and a testament to the determination and strength of Moroccan women. Congrats.

In today's match of Morocco vs Colombia team, Morocco won the match by scoring 1 goal after a lot of trouble. After the start of the game, both teams played very well. Both teams tried hard to score. But Morocco managed to score a goal.  Couldn't. But if Colombia could have scored 1 goal in this match then this match would have been a draw. The performance of the players of Colombia team who entered the field today was very bad. Today all the players of Morocco team played very well starting from the goalkeeper.
