Yes, everyone knows Mane is a key player in Senegal, and Senegal had to suffer a lot when Mane was injured, but the good news is that Mane is still on the list of players Senegal brought to the World Cup, and is now trying to recover. with a shaman, this sounds strange but it takes a miracle to cure it. in order to be able to play in the world cup hopefully mane recovers and can play for the 2022 qatar world cup

That actually doesn't surprise me as he is their best player so they will do everything they can for him to recover from his injury and play in the World Cup. If they manage to advance to the next stage, maybe he will be recovered enough to play. And I'm sure that they would rather have him in their team than not putting him on the list and then regretting it later if he recovers.

Group A Netherlands and Senegal will easily qualify from the preliminary but Ecuador will be a threat
Group B England and USA and Wales could surprise
Group C Argentina will be easy and Poland will follow
Group D France and Denmark don't seem to have any problems
Group E Spain and Germany but Japan seem capable of thwarting one of Spain and Germany
Group F Belgium and Croatia
Group G Brazil will destroy all opponents in this group, Switzerland may be the one to accompany
Group H Portugal and who will follow who qualify from this group will be tight because 3 countries Ghana, Uruguay and South Korea have the same chance.

You think that Senegal have a chance to advance to the next stage even without Mane? I'm not sure... He is their key player. His injury could really be a chance for Ecuador or Qatar.

The question is how much will being a home tim help Qatar. I don't know how popular football in Qatar is. If there is not enough home fans, than I'm not sure that there will be a great atmosphere that we all are used to in home games. I would say that for now (at least until their first match) I would say that they are the biggest mistery of this World Cup. All I could find is that they have one lost game against Canada and one draw against Chile few months ago.

The problem we are facing is that the 4 teams in Group A hasn't faced each other recently. So we don't know how Qatar will play against Senegal, or how Ecuador will fare against Netherlands. And as you mentioned, this is the first time that the tournament is being hosted by a middle-eastern nation. We don't know how the local conditions will impact the performance of the participating teams. Anyway, at least for the first few days, I am staying away from making any bets. We can expect a few big upsets in the first week.

I agree with you. The World Cup is being held for the first time at this time, in the middle of club seasons, and it will be a great challenge for all national teams.
Most national teams will come to the World Cup without many opportunities to play friendly matches, and because of this, the coaches will not know the state of their teams until they play their first matches.
That's why I expect a lot of surprises in the first matches of the World Cup, but later it will be easier for all national teams, when they get used to the environment and play more matches.
Qatar is really a big unknown at this world championship, but it would still be a big surprise if they make it to the knockout stage of the world cup.

Without Mane, Senegal still have many potential player and I don't think easy for Ecuador and Qatar qualify to next round, last announced although Mane injured still have in the squad listed name to World Cup. Senegal have favorite chance lead to next round from group A, seems another national team have chance lead to next round between Qatar as host or Ecuador.

Almost all national team have announced their squad for World Cup, one week later biggest event begin and most excited watching how atmosphere at Qatar become first edition hos as World Cup. Have one match left for several player with their team and I hope not any player absent again with injury on their last match with their team.

Here in Qatar soccer is very popular game, and recently they have good investment in Qatar Super League with too many western and South American player and other staff involved specially Xavi was coach of Al Sadd which was champion club but now suffering badly things are not as we have in UEFA, CONMEBOL and AFC but still good and home advantage is also going into Qatar teams side even this is not going to have any big impact but still good as we all know in last two decades they are doing good development in many fields which are going to improve things but still human rights and few other controversies are still going to hurt them as they are not allowing anything which is not in shariah which is the biggest issue for few countries with mostly those have big contracts and other business relationships they are doing things without any problem.

Although Sadio Mane is one of the most influential mascots of the Senegal squad. but that doesn't mean this team will be weak in terms of their attacking sharpness, even without Sadio Mane.

actually the Senegal squad has several other names although not very well known, Krepin Dieta, Monaco, Kieta Balde, Spartak Moscow, Bamba Dieng, Marseille, Ismaila Sarr, Watford, Habib Diallo, RC Strabourg, Demba Seck, Torino, Nicolas Jackson, Villareal. here's a list of names, of the strikers owned by the Senegal squad.

almost entirely, the players of the Senegal squad, playing in the european league competition, including their goalkeeper playing for Chelsea, Kalidou Koulibaly. as well as the midfielders that Senegal has, some playing in the Premier League and Ligue 1. so what do you think, the strength of Senegal in this Group A.

Even without Sadio Mane, I'm still optimistic that they will qualify for the next round with the Netherlands.

Maybe I didn't express myself that good. I didn't mean that Senegal doesn't have a chance to advance to the next round without Sadio Mane. I'm just saying that it will be much harder to win without him and that's where I see chance for Qatar and Ecuador. Personally, out of those three teams I would love to see Senegal advancing to the next stage. I love them ever since they beat France at the start of the World Cup in South Korea and Japan twenty years ago.

I totally understand your point, I agree that it is not easy for the Senegal squad to qualify even with Sadio Mane. even Ecuador cannot be underestimated by Senegal, they were able to hold Argentina 1-1, draw Brazil 1-1, overthrow Chile 0-2, and finish in the top four of the CONMEBOL World Cup Qualification.

however, if we refer to the ranking they have, on paper, Senegal and the Netherlands are the favorites who will qualify for the next round. although in fact, we do not know how the outcome will be.
So far, we are only talking based on available data and statistics. in the end, the real results will be known after this championship really starts.

speaking France vs Senegal at the 2002 world cup event, I remember very well at that time Senegal had the star name El-Hadji Diouf, Senegal won with a score of 0-1. in fact, the French squad is filled with many star players, one of which is David Trezeguet, Thierry Henry, Patrick Viera.
but what was interesting in the world cup was the home team, South Korea with all their controversies, overthrowing Italy, which at that time was a star-studded squad, there were Vieri, Del Viero and King Totti, plus midfielders and defenders who became legends.

Senegal is a strong team in Group A. But I don't think they will qualify easily. The Netherlands is also a strong team. My guess is the Netherlands will top the group. Also, the Qatar team should not be considered weak. They are the host team. And I think they get some extra benefits as hosts. So while Netherlands and Senegal from Group A are more likely to qualify, it won't be easy for them.

Group (E) is a hell of a group in my opinion, of course Spain will be overwhelmed against Japan, and Costa Rica, because this country should not be underestimated, while Germany has been confirmed on paper, although defeat can happen on the field, no I don't care if Germany has good players, if it doesn't have a fighter mentality, Honestly, I'm more interested in Group (E), than looking at other groups, because the countries that are superior will definitely qualify for the next round...
The only complete and beloved nations are Portugal, Argentina, and Senegal. The majority of you simply ignore minor countries in your forecasts. You'll be surprised to learn which tiny nations will perform better than large ones during the group stage.
In my prediction it's obvious that Senegal is the first i put in my list because i have peruse to it, and also calculate the statistics of their previous matches that happens far back.
And i noticed that Senegal will be out, because they have players that make well during the match,  in their group which is group A, i have not seen the country that can hold down on them.

My predictions for countries that will qualify for each group of the world cup.
Group A: Netherlands and Senegal
Group B: England and Wales/Scotland
Group C: Argentina and Mexico
Group D: France and Denmark
Group E: Spain and Germany
Group F: Belgium and Croatia
Group G: Brazil and Cameroon
Group H: Portugal and Ghana
Mate, you have good predictions but look like you are missing few things like now as Mane is out of competition Senegal is looking some weaker but still have good chance in B England with Wales/USA not Scotland and in last two groups we are having tough challenging matches between few teams because it's never been easy for any team like Ghana/Uruguay both are having fair chance and South Korea is declined in performance Brazil is okay, but Cameroon is also not strong as Serbia and Switzerland both are better teams with your predictions I am feeling you are from African continent because you are bringing all African teams in second phase which is not easy right now.

Here now we have just ten days to start this mega event in Qatar and after watching your predictions feeling good because I am also feeling things likely can go in this way but right now suddenly exit of Mane can negative for the Senegal and Ecuador is surely now feeling upper hand because they are not bad team at all and this advantage can help them for having second spot in this group even now I am feeling with this exit they can go at the bottom of this group because Mane for was key player for them in last win of African Nations Cup and his exit is surely the biggest lost for them.

In Group C I am favouring Mexico instead of Poland because they are surely better and have better chance for going into next round and in Group G Brazil is clearly leaders with Switzerland/ Serbia both have equal chance.

I too don't think that Qatar has any chance to finish in the top two spots. They have many naturalized players and they play for the money (at least I think that's the case). It's different when a player plays for his own nation because often they put an extra effort to play. Of course, this is football and surprises are always possible but in the group A I think surprise is reserved for Senegal to advance to the next round, especially now that Mane is injured and it's questionable if he will play for Senegal.

I'm not too sure just because of money problems they want to play for the Qatar squad, because most of Qatar's naturalized players are from Arabian peninsula countries, only 3-4 are from outside Arabia.
So in my personal opinion, it's not about money, I mean here for the naturalized Qatari players. for soccer players, playing in the world cup is a dream for most professional players who don't necessarily have the opportunity to feel the atmosphere of fighting in the world cup. they have a chance, and will play all out to the best of their ability. no matter which country they are defending.  on paper, the Qatar squad is not a formidable opponent for a team that is in this group A phase.

however, they have a distinct advantage over the opponents they will face. Of course, being the home team was not the deciding factor for them to qualify for this preliminary round. however, we will not know until this fight starts.

Well, with Mane's injury things started to look a little better for Qatar. I know that a team plays football and not one player but stil I think that it's questionable what are the odds of Senegal advancing to the next round without him. I think that currently it is not 100% sure that he will not play (at least for what I read) but I think that there is more chance of him missing the World Cup than playing on it.

Although Sadio Mane is one of the most influential mascots of the Senegal squad. but that doesn't mean this team will be weak in terms of their attacking sharpness, even without Sadio Mane.

I totally agree with your review, but I'm not sure that Senegal will be able to advance to the next round, because they have to face the home team, even though the hosts are not favored to qualify for the round of 16, but I personally think the home team has a big chance to qualify for the round of 16, because the hosts have higher confidence because they are playing in front of their own supporters, it is certain that they will play more aggressively, because they do not want to be just a complement in the world cup.

yes i think Brazil and switzerland will advance to the next round easily. I see Brazil really has the potential & motivation to win, especially this year right after 20 years ago they won for the fifth time, plus the failure in the last 2 editions, 2014 was defeated by Germany in the semifinals when they were the hosts and 2018 was defeated by Belgium in the quarter-finals.

You think that Senegal have a chance to advance to the next stage even without Mane? I'm not sure... He is their key player. His injury could really be a chance for Ecuador or Qatar.
