How easy for a new president who is been elected to fight corruption in a nation where all the systems of government is been corrupted,  like in the force,  and judiciary,  even the politicians.

Having  the mind to stop corruption is not easy in a nation that corruption  is seen as nothing, making an attempt to do so some politicians will do everything to frustrate the agenda. Do you think a genuine president can easily end corruption of this level ?
Not easy but not impossible. And if there are really no alternatives that's sort of a pointless question. Question is, how much power will people want to give for fighting corruption?

People often hate first world money tracking and surveillance but that hardcore surveillance is pretty much the price if we want to prevent corruption.
When people demand transparency they also will need to be part of that same transparency. As when everyone is accountable it's harder to hide bribes and quid pro quos.

Corruption is every man priority I don't think it is the duty of the leaders alone most people do say it is very hard to stop corruption which is a wrong thought we can both fight it if all heads are put together. the society cannot be as safe if the act of corruption is played by the citizens this act as a resistance to perfect way of life and it also prevent common negotiation and trust among us i believe by fighting corruption we must be pure, encourage patriotism and and also fight against other social vices. The world can be free from this problem if we all believe in integrity and also when we are contented with we have

I am seeing corruption like something that I'm not stop and before corruption will stop it will be as matter of government of that particular country to change power preposition because with things that is happening now I don't think that corruption will have a limitation it will continue to extend to any other part through emulation by assisting people who is the current leaders
corruption has been biggest problem face by underdevelping nations. Every leaders see the opportunity they have to steal public funds. Instead of using the funds to develop their nations, they used it for their selfish interest.  Corruption can only be stopped for the family level, everyone in the family should preach against in , because the children are the leaders of tomorrow, if the generation has failed us, let the next generation not fail too. So we must speak against it now, so that our children Will know the evil of corruption to the society. We can't stop it now, we must build a free corruption society.

Fighting corruption is everyone's duty not only the government officials i think we all are responsible for a free and fair life only if we are positive thinkers and we want growth in the society we should believe in one's self and when our problems are being shared among ourselves it can be solved i don't think the government can really attest to have known the actual  citizens in the country they only focus on the matter that comes to their table every disease has a cure like they said which simply means if the system is bad it can be changed i know it won't be easy but gradually they say can change a lot of things I can  remember our country today is not as it was before civilization has taken over in times of electing our leaders which hasn't been like that in the past many are asking will nigeria change for the better or best the answer is yes it can be changed if we out heads together as patriotic citizens

In any society in which corruption have eaten deep into the fabrics of such society, corruption becomes a normal to all. And as such a very few whom wake up to fight it will be viewed as aliens and will definitely be alienated by the very system. It can only take the "" STRONG WILL" of many a majority in such society both the govern and governed  to weild out such decision of ending corruption at all levels. And this especially must starts from individual homes.

Corruption can't be ordinarily quelled within a moment or epoch, and can't realistically be ending from up down but rather down to up. What do I mean by down to up? If in our individual homes as a society we try to create a paradigm shift within our young as they grow, putting it to them only a daily (as we do teach them  ABCD from cradle) the ills and dangers that accompany a corrupt society. The mindset we create in the young generation as they grow will go a long way yo ending or reducing corruption in any society instead of try to end corruption from the elderly.
It might not seem easy but it can be achieved. It's just a time factor issue.

When a government is too bad of corruption it is not that easy to make it corrupt free state, corruption is like a deadly disease in that have no cure. If there is a president that is not corrupt it will be hard for him to end corruption or won't be even possible for him to end corruption.
Ofcourse, you are very right talking about corrupt leadership leading to corrupt society.A bad government will always result to corruption because embezzlement of fund and misappropriation becomes the order of the day.
From the head to the least, corruption becomes too common to the extend  that almost every activity that is done is done in a corrupt way.

Every disease has a cure except for old age and death, of course, if they change the whole system and appoint the right person as a leader, they can turn the table and fix their country at a slow pace if they were the worst country ever. Just look how bad in the past these successful countries we have right now, they were even worse because they don't have any leader or they have been colonized by some lunatic empire in the past but they managed to fix their countries in the span of 50 or more years.

In Africa, Nigeria in particular. In 20th century, Nigerians police normally pursued (Go after) arms robbers, but now in this 21st century they are not pursueing arms robbers again. Why? Because those policemen who pursued these arms robbers would later turned to arms robbers.

So, in essence, corruption is a time bomb dropped by the colonial governments in Africa, so no democratic elected government can remove corruption in Africa but the masses. Present Nigerian President, Buhari was fighting was corruption, but now everything has die down, why?

My personal opinion says no. I even doubt that the elected president is really purely from the people's choice not from the number of people whose votes have been bought with money that is part of the black campaign action. Then how can a leader who is elected by means of corruption stop corruption?
I feel salute to the Chinese state which is able to shoot dead corruptors in front of the public. Hopefully the same thing can be applied to countries with rampant corruption cases.

The question is: Who is fighting the corruption? He that goes to equity must come with clean hands. Even if the President is not corrupt his appointees would be.

Elections are very expensive. Campaigns, tours, publicity and bribing electorate is quite capital intensive. Sometimes politicians take loans from banks or seek sponsorship from the rich. How would they pay back these loans.

The would always engage in corrupt practices to pay up their debts. Some of their sponsors become Godfathers and dictates how contracts are awarded.

Except our electoral systems becomes less expensive or a sincere rich candidate emerges then fighting corruption would always be a mirage

As far as Nigeria is concern I don't think there would be anything like "genuine government" anyone been voted into power turns to something else once they step into that office and start seeing the millions and billions there..... My dear it is only God himself that can help to reset and restore this country for us.
The level of corruption in the country is becoming woree by the day, for example with the ongoing Abba Kiari case...  God should just help us.

Day after day Nigeria will never improve.
I think no change of government will do no change, all they need is violence from the youths.
Taking some useful actions will put their heads straight, you see Nigerian youths leaving the country as a result of bad government, who them will fight for the country ?
Every one scared on fighting for his/ her rights.
I'm pained!!!
Exactly, every country is corrupt,so corruption  is now a thing that is so rampant and common to the extend one find it difficult to see truth in the mouth of our leaders.

The only thing one needs to do is to remove all the corrupt leaders and fix new people that are truthful, transparent in action and trust worthy,to make the society a better place.

Nobody can fight corruption, instead corruption will fight the person. In Nigeria, Mangu, the former "Economic and Financial Crime Commission" boss, was arrested for corruption.

Corruption is as old as man.

This is the dilemma of all developing countries that people choose their leaders by their own votes who come in power to loot and plunder the wealth of the country by corrupt practices. Accountability is the cornerstone of a well-functioning democracy and Democracy without accountability is a joke. Democracy is called a system of government where bad leaders are filtered out through democratic process but we see same corrupt people are elected again and again.

Fighting against corruption is a topic which has always been very interesting for me because I have witnessed it devastating effects on economy and how it ruins the very fabric of the society. I have witnessed in my country How Political mafias loots and plunders wealth of the country and transfer it to their overseas accounts. Fighting against corruption need political will on highest level of government and state, it is not easy task but achievable through legislation and reforms.

This is easy because when you are the leader of the whole country, it means you are superior to everyone out there and you can implement some law that will automatically end that corruption era by waging war on those who are corrupt. When you guys heard Duterte, you already know what it means. the same guy who raided the house of a drug lord with a grenade. That's just how should it end because those guys love violence and sacrifice their life to save the younger generations in many ways better. I'm not a fan of random killings but to put them in their right place is the best thing you can do. I'm living in the front row where drugs are easily accessible but as soon as Duterte took charge, everything was changed completely to a better way.

I agree with what he is doing there but where I disagree is where he is handing you off to and that is big pharma an even bigger drug dealer than the violent small fries you once dealt with. At least when they commit violence you don't hear about just someone "mysterious died" or side effects caused this etc, etc. One for the other we all want to rule the world bottom line, that's what a real small fry drug dealer once told me.

Assuming your president actually wants to get rid of it, he's in for a bumpy ride. Although it varies by country, those that are already in position will find ways to hinder your president's policies to remove corruption. And also, he's mostly only in control of his respective branch of government, which is already challenge enough, imagine trying to affect changes in the other branches.

And then there's the non-government actors, the businesses, criminal organizations, etc that have slithered their way into government and influencing it from a distance. You'd have to first find out all those and after that there's still the problem of how to get rid of them.
