@nutildah, how is the full moon evenly lit if it's a sphere reflecting sunlight?

@Cryptotourist,

Plato claims Atlantis invaded Greece and they were an adversary unlike no other, but eventually Athens sunk Atlantis and all was good, or so history says.

Wut?

You have a unique way of distorting things.

I'm twisting nothing, this is official narrative stuff:

The Tale

According to the Egyptians, or rather what Plato described Critias reporting what his grandfather was told by Solon who heard it from the Egyptians, once upon a time, there was a mighty power based on an island in the Atlantic Ocean. This empire was called Atlantis, and it ruled over several other islands and parts of the continents of Africa and Europe.

Atlantis was arranged in concentric rings of alternating water and land. The soil was rich, said Critias, the engineers technically accomplished, the architecture extravagant with baths, harbor installations, and barracks. The central plain outside the city had canals and a magnificent irrigation system. Atlantis had kings and a civil administration, as well as an organized military. Their rituals matched Athens for bull-baiting, sacrifice, and prayer.

But then it waged an unprovoked imperialistic war on the remainder of Asia and Europe. When Atlantis attacked, Athens showed its excellence as the leader of the Greeks, the much smaller city-state the only power to stand against Atlantis. Alone, Athens triumphed over the invading Atlantean forces, defeating the enemy, preventing the free from being enslaved, and freeing those who had been enslaved.

After the battle, there were violent earthquakes and floods, and Atlantis sank into the sea, and all the Athenian warriors were swallowed up by the earth.

I'm honored that my writing influences you so much that it actually controls what you read about.

Cool

The fact that I’m not, never have been, nor ever will be a bible thumping, creationist,
evolution denying, anti-vaxxer nutjob such as yourself proves that your drivel doesn’t
influence me in the slightest. However, I will admit it does occasionally influence what
threads I click on. Truth be told, I peruse the threads you pollute with your nonsense
as I like to mock delusional thinking...

Hey everybody, just thought I'd share the news that there will be a penumbral lunar eclipse this evening or tomorrow morning if you're me. Its cool because it coincides with the moon being full, so you ought to get a pretty good view of it from almost anywhere around the globe. You can check what time its going to be happening in your local area here:

https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/map/2020-january-10

Of course, you're welcome to ditch everything you know about the sun, the moon, and space to instead adopt the flat earther explanation of lunar eclipses, which is that it is caused by a "mysterious shadow object" that happens to float in front of the moon every once and a while.

Happy eclipse viewing!

Personally, I have long understood that believing in a flat earth or not depends only on whether it will bring you any benefit. Even if the earth was flat, and everything around was a global deception, then can we do something about it? Globally no. So, we will only drive ourselves into all possible types of depressive states due to our helplessness in this situation. You need to think about what improves our life, everything else is not important.

You've got to admit, with a hidden continent the UFO phenomenon suddenly makes a whole lot of sense.

Plato claims Atlantis invaded Greece and they were an adversary unlike no other, but eventually Athens sunk Atlantis and all was good, or so history says.

I think it could be a lie [victory], this was the end of the classical period for Greece IMO. I suspect the dates given for all or most historical events are fabricated and the Copernican revolution took place shortly after the fall.

Ancient history they claim is thousand of years old, it might only be hundreds. Some buildings from what is claimed as ancient history are still in use. Look at cities like Chicago and The Bronx, where did all the people go? When Napoleon invaded Moscow, it was empty. What's up with the Victorian age?

Do you trust 3rd party information i.e. what's available on Google maps? Are you among the faithful, a believer? Is the idea of a hidden continent blasphemy?

Why would Google Earth use an Azimuthal Equidistant map then project that onto a globe? Why isn't the AE map available for browsing?

^^^ Try visiting a military base without singing up for the guided tour, check it out and see what happens.

They don't do guided tours if they want to keep something secret.

Why do most military bases have a visitors centre? Why are some if not most areas off limits to visitors?

It's a trap, they want you to sign up so you can see the off limits area. Then you're their slave, and you do shit the military way or else.

So does area 51 have a visitors centre? You said that Antarctica is guarded like it's Area 51.

^^^ Try visiting a military base without singing up for the guided tour, check it out and see what happens.

The simple perimeter of the United States is about 11,000 miles. If you consider the perimeter in beach frontage, it's about 54,000 miles.

The simple circumference of globe earth is about 24,000 miles. If the earth were flat, this would be about the diameter of it, making the simple circumference of the ice ring about 75,400 miles.

Using the same relation as the simple US perimeter to its beach perimeter, this would make the ice ring "beach" perimeter to be about 370,000 miles.

The US has enough trouble patrolling its little border 11,000-54,000 miles. In fact, they don't on a tiny scale like one small boat. So, who in the world do you think is going to patrol the 75,000-370,000 mile ice ring?

But, we are having fun, aren't we?

So "they" send the gunboats if you get too close, but also offer guided tours?

How come the military don't also offer guided tours round area 51 too?

^^^ You act like the military doesn't track and intercept ships and aircraft, why? You act like the Antarctic treaty system isn't in place, why? You act like counter intelligence doesn't know exactly what any so-called Antarctic investigation team is doing at any time, why?

The military has guided tours of most of their bases if you want to visit...

notbatman,

I am traveling to Antarctica next week. I will be there for several days. Is there any evidence supporting FE that you would like me to gather or are there any experiments that you would like me to run?

Sure, you're going to have a lot of flat, wide open space so if you could bring an 83x or 120x optical super zoom camera and take some photographs.

But you said it's impossible to get near it, that Antarctica is guarded like it's Area 51, and they send the gunboats if you get too close.

Heve you forgotten the bullshit you wrote on the 2nd page of this thread?

I ask myself why is Antarctica guarded like it's Area 51? Why do governments who can't publicly agree on anything all manage to work together to make sure that your average Joe curiosity seeker and armature scientist doesn't start wondering around unescorted?

They send the gunboats if you get too close...
