It's not a bad choice, though. Ranieri is a man we need, but he's not the man we deserved. He is 73 years, which is very old to coach a football club, but it seems he still very loyal to the Roma. He comes out from his retirement to help Roma, it shows how deeply he loves this club and i like that.

But, i'd pick other choices if we had someone else as a candidate. He's too old, and we should let him live his remaining years in peace. But since we don't, it's OK to have him as interim till the end of the season.

That feels contradictory to his profile based on what I've read[1]. I'd love to see him develop youth or underperforming players before he goes to the market He managed to promote more than 20 academy players while he was at Sporting, so that's a good basis. While it's possible that this happened because Sporting doesn't have the money to buy players, it's probably a good deal in the long-term because it gives youth players a concrete goal to achieve while he's managing the club.

Then again, if the fans and management put pressure on him, maybe he won't have the time to do that. Buying players is easier to do, especially if the board supports him with money.
