But in this case I read a news sourced from Catalan Sport which said that Barcelona reportedly had prepared a sanction if Frenkie de Jong refused to be sold to Manchester United and the punishment was to exclude De Jong from the squad for this pre-season tour.
Obviously this is the opposite of what you say and it still has all the possibilities especially United are now trying to increase their bids to bring De Jong.
maybe the source you read is not very accurate how barcelona can impose sanctions on De Jong in transfer matters, it is impossible because Barcelona themselves have a debt to De Jong if barcelona starts threatening sanctions, De Jong party will definitely take legal action against Barcelona who have not paid arrears his salary and must be completed as soon as possible if barcelona wants to sell him. I don't believe the news sources you read.
