I still feel Manchester City needs a midfielder. If they can't get a DM, then they can get a CM that is a ball winner and also technical on the ball. Gundugan and KDB are not young anymore, they can't run for 90 minutes and keep pressing for 90 minutes, and they'll get tired. The midfielder finds it difficult to win balls back from their opponent. Bernardo Silva is okay for pressing but he won't be able to do it alone, plus he's not a pure ball winner, unlike Rodri.
Another reason why I think they should have gotten a midfielder is because there is no certainty that no other player will get injured and if any of the available midfielder gets injured there will be a problem.
Yes, Man City needs new players on the midfield line. Defensive midfielder and central midfielder, both are needed. Man City only has 1 DM (Rodri), he already got injured for a long time. Not sure if he can return to his best performance again after he recovers. Many players failed to return to their best performance after experiencing too long injured. Meanwhile for the CM, Man City has 3 players but 1 CM is already too old player (Gundogan). I'm not sure Gundogan will still play with Man City in the next 1-2 years. So, Man City needs 1-2 new CM as well.

I don’t believe the rumors because Motta is a good coach and with good experience too. Since joining Juventus he has managed to improve the team’s playing style and brought in some good signings that have really helped the team get results. Sometimes the change expected doesn’t just come immediately or on a platter of gold it takes time. I suggest a little patience with Motta to revive the team’s confidence and performance.

It is definitely a big rumor and a flat fake one because currently Thiago Motta is one of the most exciting and technically talented coaches that are growing through their ranks. Personally I think Juventus wouldn’t be thinking of losing him most especially since they are on a rebuilding stage. The current fall of juventus definitely isn’t upon Thiago Motta if we look at the current situation that the club is in. Juventus haven’t signed prolific or clinical strikers and attackers and this is where they are lacking at the moment. They have played lots of games in which the defense has been carrying them all long but the attack fails to deliver. So for me I think two or more transfers windows and then they will be well prepared to actually compete for the league

L'Équipe claims that Juventus is thinking of replacing Motta with Xavi. Do you believe the rumour?  Huh

Honestly I don't. At least I don't want to. Because it is too early to make such change. I don't think this is the same situation with the sacking of Nuri Şahin by Dortmund. The reason is that Dortmund had a really decent squad to do much more than being a middle-placed team in the standings.

However Juventus lack the strength for being a title contender with this squad. I have said many times. A great defense but poor offense. A better AM and CF would make serious difference. Motta should be given budget and then see what he will do later on.

Yeah, finally Juventus has some sense to kick Motta out of the club. He's dumb as a coach. Replacing him with Xavi is excellent decision.

If they successfully sign Xavi as a new coach, they complete their first task to fix their club. The second task must be selling a lot of their dumb players such as Vlahovic and Douglas. Those guys are disaster and worthy to cash in.  Cool Cool Cool

They did win the match in the last round of the group stage so that Manchester City managed to advance to the next round through the playoffs, but if you look at their performance in the match, there are many changes that need to be made. For the attack line, I think the players owned by Manchester City are still quite good and what they need to fix are the defenders and the midfield because in several previous matches the performance of the players in those positions was less than optimal. The transfer market must be utilized well by Manchester City because now they are more focused on improving the quality of the team to be better after experiencing a previous setback in the Premier League.
Perhaps Manchester City is facing many other problems. Probably the management and low player confidence. The squad that Manchester City has is deep and also a quality one from Defence through midfield to the striking department. Give that team to any other good manager and they will produce good result.

I feel that even if they went to market and bought more players, their inconsistent performance may not change throughout the season. Let's see how things go through the season

Now they need to implement those players into the squad and that honestly isnt easy. We have seen with Chelsea that they bought so many good players but they just didnt go with the style or the league or whatever else. So i think it will take sometime for Man City to play good like they did before. Guardiola can make the team good again but just needs more time

Another potential player have to leave Europa that it is confirmed that Aston Villa player Jhon Duran will go to Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr and if we see from the amount of transfer fee this is good deal for Aston Villa because Al Nassr  is dare to spend 77 million to get Jhon Duran and tomorrow he will went to Saudi Arabia for medical check and signing new contract with Al Nassr
Yep. It is reported that Al Nassr and Aston Villa have reached an agreement for the transfer fees about €77 million. It is surely a quite big amount of money for a 21 striker who has a market value around €40 million only. But Al Nassr must have no problem with the big money, they have almost unlimited money. And they may prepare this young striker to replace Ronaldo's role. I suspect Al Nassr won't extend Ronaldo's contract.

Al Nassr has the goal to finally add younger players that the young people in their country can better identify with. If they only sign these senior players who are about to retire, then it has the advantage that they already built their reputation, but the disadvantage that they will soon be gone. If they can now successfully sign younger great talents, these players can grow a community within Saudi Arabia for a longer period of time. I think to a certain degree the Saudi clubs have to get away from this image that they only sign players who are in it for the paycheck and then say goodbye to the sport two years later.

Jhon Duran is still young 21 years old and i know Jhon Duran lost to compete with Ollie Watkins for Aston Villa front lines because seems Unai Emery is more likely to trust Ollie Watkins rather than him but i have no wonder because in the term of scores goals Ollie Watkins is much better than him but why Jhon Duran choose Al Nassr because i think his talent is still deserved to playing at European clubs
Of course, Duran will have no chance to replace Watkins. Watkins is one of the top strikers in EPL, he also still has a long contract with Aston Villa (expires in 2028). If Duran stays in Aston Villa, he can't improve much his ability because he mostly will spend the time on the bench. But if he moves to Al Nassr, he will be the main striker when Ronaldo leaves the club. If there is no contract extension, Ronaldo will leave Al Nassr in June 30, 2025 (this year).

He knows that it'll be hard for him to break into the big stage as there are other  players that are better than him therefore, him going to Saudi Arabia and playing for Al Nassr that has players like Cristina's Rinaldo and Sadio mane is an improvement for him than playing at Europe. The money are also very important as it'll be helpful for  him and he won't have to work himself for many years in Europe to get the same amount of money. He's beyond big and I love the fact that he made his choice well known. I still don't understand why they're other players still playing that are interested in how to find a way to leave colours. Boniface and has gotten a replacement very soon.

That is the best thing to do because their performance have declined since the start of this season so they really need to utilize this transfer market to improve their team. They have issues with their defense which is making them to concede too much even to small teams and if they don’t do that this January then they might continue struggling till the end of the season.

They have added a few but it is not enough yet they need to add more to cover for injuries in the team, if they can strengthen their defense they they are good to go and will definitely improve and even end the season in top four.

It is very unfortunate to see a young player like Jhon Duran have to leave Europe for a bigger salary. Actually there is nothing wrong because I think in the SPL he can also be a player who is considered qualified if he can score big in every season. On the one hand Al Nassr does need a player like Jhon Duran to strengthen the attack line and be Ronaldo partner when on the field.
Duran is talented and will be a good addition to their attacking line, this is what Al Nassr needs to do to compete properly but they should not only focus on attack only but also strengthen their defense because the rate at which they concede is too high. To challenge for the title they need to reduce their conceding rate.
His potential is quite good and it can be seen in the 7 Champions League matches he played at Aston Villa according to the current statistics of 3 goals and 20 EPL appearances with 7 goals he has scored, of course it is an achievement that is actually very good but when the choice was made it might have been considered a good decision for him.

All players have their own perspectives in continuing the career they want to go to at this time including for Duran even though his progress is still very good for big league competition in Europe but back again with the large salaries he has in the SPL then it is indeed the choice he wants to get.

On the other hand, for now it looks like the SPL is starting to change their target for players in Europe because if previously they tried to find players with great popularity such as Neymar, Mane and Cristiano but for now it looks like they are more concerned with quality where young players who still have fighting spirit and good progress are always trying to get from clubs in Europe.

Yes, at 21, such a choice raises questions. Maybe he is not confident in himself after failing to establish himself in the Aston Villa starting lineup or maybe he thinks that a lucrative contract is now better than a career in Europe? In the end, after a couple of years in Saudi Arabia, he will be able to return back, because he is not moving to a weak club, but to one that is trying to fight for the title.

They have already made three signings in this January transfer window, they were unable to play yesterday, but now that they have progressed to the Playoffs, they will be registered and they'll be available in the next round. City have not completely shut the door on another potential signing this month, prolly a right back, since Kyle Walker has left the club for AC Milan this month, Matheus Nunes has been playing at right back, and against a top team with good wingers, that might be a weak link.
Manchester City don't need to sign much players since they have enough quality stars. The only challenge they have is injuries. When these player recover the squad might come back to it's past shape. Buying more players might conflict with the Financial Fair and also make the player difficult to manage. When coaches have too many players in the club selection problems will always arise and players who are not always selected might cause disaffection in the dressing room.

My conclusion is that the signing of  Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis is enough for the Cityzens. By the time other key players return from injuries, there will be good backup.

And this is where I tend to disagree because what you could see this season, many of their superstars haven't performed very well and sometimes this is a sign that the team feels too comfortable about being a starter in a world class team like Manchester City. They want intense competition within the team as this is the only way to keep every playing performing at their top level. There is barely a player this season that I would pick and say that he played well from the first game to the last. This doesn't even apply to Haaland who had very weak performances. Same for De Bruyne, Grealish, Foden was catastrophically bad in most games, several other players constantly underperforming. That is the moment you have to realize that some restructuring could be required and players should know that they won't hold back to sign a new player for their position.

Jhon Duran is a very talented striker and very young as well with potential to become a top striker but the coach at Aston Villa is trust Watkins more but still believes Duran will be Watkins successor when another team signs him. If he is patient enough he will definitely be a top striker in the league. I am surprised hearing about his transfer and his decision to join Saudi league so soon. Well he was definitely offered a huge deal and I don’t blame him for deciding to leave, maybe the lack of enough playing time made him decide to leave but seeing him play in Europe would be nice.

Even if Duran wanted to stay at Villa and fight for his place, Aston villa would have still pushed him out in order to get that money. A player like Duran for £77M and you expect Aston villa to reject. No club in euro will pay such an amount of Duran calibre of player. But at 21 and going to Saudi Arabia doesn't speak good about his career. He needed to have stayed in Europe and developed more. I would have opted him to go to the Saudi at the later stage of his career, rather than leaving for the Saudi at this early stage of his career. Maybe he doesn't care much about that, as his sights are just fixed on the money. Even if Aston villa would have still wanted him to leave to Saudi for that money, him Duran should have objectced to that move, by insisting he wants to stay in Europe. But I didn't see anything like that from him. Maybe he had already had that in mind (going to Saudi Arabia).  It's really a good business for Aston villa, they have really made a huge money from Duran sale. I'm sure they didn't get him half the money they just sold him.

It is clear that Aston Villa got a big advantage by releasing him, both parties got what they wanted and agreed. If I'm not mistaken, Aston Villa brought in Duran with a relatively cheap transfer and then released him with a fantastic value. While John Duran himself seems to want money regardless of his career in the Europa League, he chose to accept the offer from Al Nassr and play in the Saudi Pro League. No one is disadvantaged by this transfer, Aston Villa must be very happy to release one of their young strikers. Well, I agree with what you said, it is not certain that other European League clubs are willing to pay Jhon Duran like Al Nassr did. Regardless of the transfer price, it is not certain that this young striker can immediately adapt to play brilliantly in the Saudi Pro League. Indeed, he seems to have talent that can be honed again to be sharper, but he has chosen to have a career in the Saudi Pro League and get a high salary. Moreover, there are many competitors for him on the European League stage. Apart from his teammates, to become a player with a big name he has to work hard to make it happen. the effort had to be paid dearly, but he chose to play with one of the elite clubs of the Saudi League. well, Duran became one of the young players whose value was quite large who was brought from Europe to the Saudi League.

He could definitely be destroying his career too early. At such a young age, he will play in the Saudi league and will not have the attention of the big teams in Europe and will not achieve anything relevant in personal terms and will also hardly be called up to play in the national team. Maybe Aston Villa is thinking of taking the money from his sale and buying João Felix or Marco Asensio
Maybe the way we used to see football is beginning to change and some players are now considering the money more than the entertainment and long term view of their career and where it seem that Ronaldo has opened the road for players to start moving into the Saudi professional league, also it could be that we are about to witnessing a situation where this side of league is about to gradually start to boom.

It is predictable that Amorim will want to strengthen the Manchester United defense, but I do not really understand the importance of this transfer yet, Dorgu is young, only 20 years old and I have not followed Lecce very much to understand how good this defender is. The defense for Manchester United has long been considered a weak point in the team, I think it would be good to also find a more suitable replacement for Onan, but their attack also needs strengthening by the way.
I feel like they just saw a potential in him I suppose, because there is nothing about him that would make you want to invest into him right now, he is not better than dalot at the moment or mazraoui, but he is also 20 years old, which means that he could be much better in the future. Or maybe not, maybe this was a bad decision and we are not going to see them do much better, so there isn't really anything that we are seeing which could change the situation at all.

We are going to end up with a difficult decision to make, but if we are careful about it, then we are going to see this be decided on the field. Lets see how he plays, if he plays great, then it wasn't a bad decision, if he plays badly, then it was a terrible decision. Of course considering he is young, it can't be decided just on this season neither, he could make mistakes now, but it is also important to remember he is more like a left wing instead of a defender, so it may take a while to realize that he is tasked to go forward a lot more than stay at defense.

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Galatasaray are interested in AC Milan striker Álvaro Morata. Until yesterday there was no information about this. The transfer was revealed today. First of all, it will be on loan with an option to buy. The purchase price is 8 million Euro. For a 33 year old player, this is a very high figure, but Galatasaray have a lot of money to throw around. Milan bought him from Atletico Madrid for 14 million Euro at the beginning of the season. The fact that they gave him up so quickly is something to think about. It looks like Galatasaray will continue to play with two strikers. They will have 5 players in the same area, all of them with very serious salaries. They have an interesting squad planning.
Personally, I am very surprised by the speculation about Morata future, why Galatasaray is suddenly interested in recruiting him from AC Milan. If you look at the depth of the squad that Galatasaray has, they clearly do not need additional strength at this time, because I think Osimhen is able to answer all the team needs. With the transfer window almost closed, AC Milan may have difficulty finding a replacement for Morata. It is possible that Galatasaray interest is motivated by Osimhen move, although we know that the player on loan from Napoli will most likely stay in Turkey until the end of the season. So far I do not know for sure the plans of the two clubs, what is clear is that AC Milan must consider wisely their decision to release Morata.
