Transfer rumours:

Real Madrid have given Paris St-Germain until Sunday to accept their bid for France forward Kylian Mbappe, as the Spanish club are not willing to offer more than 190m euros (£163m) for the 22-year-old. Will the clubs eventually agree or will this saga continue until next year?  Grin
Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 36, will become the highest-paid player in Premier League history when he completes his move from Juventus to Manchester United. Will he also become the greatest player in Premier League history?  Grin
Manchester United are planning to make a late move for 30-year-old England right-back Kieran Trippier, with Atletico Madrid said to be demanding 40m euros (£34.3m) for the former Tottenham player. Manchester United are bringing in a lot of new players again but will it help them to finally win the national championship?

I'm a big fan of Ronaldo, but I would be surprised if he now becomes the highest paid player in the league. Undoubtedly he is the greatest player but age + general crisis situation in football in my opinion should reduce the appetites of all players. Now is not the time for records (at least until the launch of the Super League).

In sporting terms, signing Ronaldo makes little sense for ManUnited. Here it was probably more about the brand and the prestige that Ronaldo will bring. Ronaldo is a global brand and ManUnited has been overshadowed by ManCity in recent years. So from a marketing perspective, the signing makes sense. From a sporting and financial perspective, it doesn't.

I think the main reason for this surprising transfer is the fact that the owners of Manchester United, after the fiasco with the Super League project, could not allow another big failure and cause renewed hostility and indignation from the fans, which would have happened if Ronaldo had gone to City.
In this way, they satisfied their fans, they bought more time at the club and the fiasco from the super league will be forgotten.
Ronaldo in this story is just a means to cover some other important problems of the club and personally he will not help the club much because his time has passed.

I don’t think Ronaldo’s time has passed, of course he’s not as fast as before, but he doesn’t have to play center forward and compete in speed with defenders. He can return to the role he already played in Manchester United as a midfielder, in addition, when playing set pieces, he will be dangerous as in his best years (due to experience).

^  Uh no...  Lol.  Ronaldo is 36 years old.  I don’t think he’ll break ‘many records’ in the EPL at United with just two years in his contract.  And it’s gonna be hard pushing it beyond that at a high level.

Don't forget there is nothing impossible, Cristiano Ronaldo is a very ambitious player as well...this is Ronaldo for crying out loud, don't you doubt he's capabilities.
He has quality players to do the working drop him the pass while he Anticipate moves of the ball, pogba,Bruno and Sancho are quality players around him.
At 36 years breaking more records? EPL has improved tremendously compared to his first stint, and also Man Utd has more quality players then who aided his top-notch performances with the input of Sir Alex Ferguson, however do you think the present squad of Man Utd with the likes of pogba,Bruno, Sancho and Fred will enable Ronaldo to break record? I don't think so, yesterday match with Wolves reveals how Man Utd players struggled to stop their host, though they narrowly won the match, inclusion of Ronaldo will only make a small difference.

What record do you mean? There are various kinds of records in Football. Age isn't the limitation to break any records although the chance will be smaller.
By the way, it is not a must for him to break records when he plays again in Man United. He already breaks many records, why he should break other records? I think he just focuses to give the optimum contribution that he can give to Man United. He probably cannot be the top scorer anymore, but he surely helps Man United to win every match in EPL. Well, 2 years contract is normal with an age above 35. Ronaldo may have a plan to move after his contract over, and play in one more club again before he retires.
Personally, I'm happy he going to MU even create or not any record anymore. I just saw him as a personal icon of MU, it will make many people come especially those who have had the moment with Ronaldo in the past. It could be hard for him to create a new record such as a top score because of the age factor, but he can give the spirit for young players to create a record like him.

So what back number of Ronaldo? 12, 15, or 28 ( for 7 it could be happening on next session 2022-2023)

Ronaldo has made a U-turn to Manchester United, his boyhood club rather than Manchester City which was rumoured to finalise a deal with him.According to reports,we heard that he was called by Sir Alex Ferguson to make a U-turn to Manchester United, after agreeing personal terms with Man-city,and he did.
It is from this that I know that Christiano Ronaldo has genuine love for Manchester United.
Everything is now official between him and United. They were contemplating on the shirt number to give him, because he always prefers number 7,but that has been given to someone else.
Christiano's move to Man-U will turn them to be tittle contenders this season.

What Real Madrid did was right by not raising the offer for Mbappe, PSG should have accepted an offer from Madrid. Because Madrid's offer is very high
for a player whose contract expires soon, if PSG do not accept Madrid's offer. PSG will release Mbappe next season for free, it's a very bad decision
in my opinion. Cristiano Ronaldo is a great player, he will set many records in the Premier League, I can't wait to see Ronaldo's debut with Man United.
For Kieran Trippier's transfer, it seems difficult to realize, because Man United objected to Atletico's asking price.
I think that the transfer of Mbappé to Real Madrid is a fact! I do not think that PSG will miss this opportunity, the president of PSG has shown that he is a great businessman, he has a lot of business acumen, on the other hand CR7 does not stop surprising, he has made the stock market on Wall Street of shares Man United increased by 9%, it is something very good what this player causes, it is similar what Messi caused when he arrived at PSG.

Hopefully Mbappe's transfer will be realized soon before the transfer window closes, I also like you believe that Nasser Al-Khelaifi as president of
PSG is a successful businessman and can make the right decisions. We'll see if there will be any surprises regarding Mbappe's transfer. This will be
the moment that many people have been waiting for. Ronaldo is a star player with huge fans all over the world, so it's no wonder it can have a good
impact and can increase Man United's shares.

It looks like the transfer of Mbappe is coming soon. If that happens and the +- 160 million is paid, the German media are already reporting about PSG contacting Borussia Dortmund... Haaland. If that happens i am not sure which transfer is bigger... Messi or Haaland. Paris with the offense...insane!

Haaland IMMEDIATELY to Messi?

I hope the rumors come true Mbappe will soon move to Real Madrid, but I would be surprised if PSG chose Haaland as Mbappe's replacement.
Usually PSG look for experienced players aged 30 years and over, while Haaland is indeed a good player, but still young and inexperienced.
I think Lewandowski is a suitable choice as a replacement for Mbappe.

I heard that Real Madrid made their last offer for PSG striker Kylian Mbappe which is worth €190m. They actually were expecting an answer from PSG side today but I don't see any news about it. It started seeming like Real Madrid won't be able to finish this deal successfully. But it might be still early to talk like this of course. Because as far as I know, the transfer window is still open. We saw how fast Manchester United ended the Ronaldo deal. We might see a similar thing for Mbappe also.

This is part of the reason why Ronaldo's move to Man Utd didn't excite me even though I'm not a fan. I know plenty of Man Utd fans that have already placed high expectations for Ronaldo this season like taking Man Utd to champions league glory or the Premier league title. I don't see the reason for raising the bars too hard because whether we believe it or not. The Premier league is the hottest league in all of Europe, I don't he'll have the kind of impact Man Utd fans are expecting from him.

I agree, sometimes is just better to keep your coin rather than keeping a player with a short contract and even Mbappe is not as good investment from a marketing perspective than other players with which the Spanish public may better identify themselves. That is quite important on these time in which the teams use much less their own home grown players and tend to overstretch. Real Madrid could start looking overseas... meaning the Americas, as Europe is a far too expensive market today.

There is information that Paris Saint-Germain has targeted Haaland in this transfer window and seems to be ready to pay 200 million euros, so there is a high probability that they will not ignore all the proposed amounts for Mbappe. At least, the PSG president had previously stated that the club wanted 230 million for Mbappe and he did not change this position. There is also information that Real Madrid has issued an ultimatum, informing PSG that if the deal is not agreed by the end of August 29, the club will refuse this deal. Therefore, at least very soon there will be clarity on this issue. On the one hand, I agree with you about the destruction of the transfer market by Paris Saint-Germain, but on the other hand, I would like to ask you. And how else can clubs from other countries compete on transfer issues with Real Madrid, Barcelona and English clubs that skim all the cream from this market?
It is not about if PSG would want Haaland or not, EVERY team in the world would want Haaland, that kid is the greatest striker of this new generation, and when Mbappe leaves they are going to need someone to replace that void, which can't be replaced that easily, after all this is mbappe we are talking about and you can't just have anyone there to make up for it.

What I believe will happen however is that Dortmund will want way too much, that is the reason why Haaland is still there as well, kid is just what 21-22 years old? Wanting 150+ for that kid is a weird one, he is definitely good and looks like he will worth that much but asking for that much now when he is so young is a bit unfair, he should be more like 100 at the most which many teams would have paid. PSG would definitely want Haaland but they may not be willing to pay 200 million for him as well.

Ronaldo's reported salary is a bit lower than initially reported - apparently he took a pay cut to leave Turin. He was on 500k per week and his United deal is closer to 400k, but he did sign for 1 year longer.

There was a good article in The Guardian today:

Quote

Ronaldo seems like a great deal at first, but if you dig a bit deeper it might bring United more trouble than joy. Old, expensive and egocentric - at a time when United finally managed to get some team cohesion.
He has got 2 years of good overall football in his feet. In England he can keep focusing on his secondary world which is his brand, CR7. He knows very well that in terms of football he has done what he could and, given his fancy and expensive lifestyle alongside, he needs to make sure he will survive and reach the end of the month when he finishes his career. And I think that no place is better than England to do that.

Haha, quite an interesting bluff, this is also makes PSG need to do something for this transfer, because so far only madrid is most likely to be able to buy Mbappe, like it or not they have to make a decision so they don't lose momentum to get money from selling mbappe. When madrid withdraws their offer, then madrid will start thinking about signing mbappe next season for free.
PSG look not need money because they are rich club and never get any deal for Mbappe transfer to Real Madrid, although PSG know next season Mbappe become free transfer player but never agree with Madrid price ask for mbappe, I think Real Madrid use fresh money to buy other player because guarantee Mbappe will be Real Madrid player for the next season.

PSG is indeed one of the richest football teams in the world, even though they don't really need money but rejecting the potential income of 180 million euros is an unreasonable act. 180 million euros is not a small amount of money and with this money, PSG can buy another world-class player.

Maybe PSG has a reason why they still insist on not releasing Mbappe, maybe they still hope that Mbappe will change his decision and accept the contract extension offered by PSG, but I think this is very unlikely to happen.
Kylian Mbappé is also unsatisfied with PSG's treatment of the 180 million euro transfer offer. According to sources, PSG promised to let him go if they got their money back (180m euros). However, PSG remains unmoved no matter what the reasons are. But, even so, there is no point in tying him up who wants to leave and no longer cares about playing for the club. It is clear that they are not interested in the €180m, but he will walk for free next season. I can't believe what a stupid idea it was to give him a free ticket next year! Is PSG OK?
