Well first of all 3000 is a good start. I would suggest you dive deep into infrastructure projects like AION and Elastos. Whose ones have good developers, their main net is up and running and both of them already have a list of potential DApps being built on top of them. Not financial advice.

If you are interested in my opinion, then I think that investing just such a large amount in one crypto currency is not very rational, even if it seems to you to be very cool. I would divide the money into 5-10 parts in different proportions and invest in different currencies
