Win 10 is interesting for big rigs, and provide better hashrate than SMos.

I'm 50/50 SMos and win10

A 3rd rigs did the same thing , and another rig I built today did it too after 30 min working.

That's crazy.

Nobody has the problem ??

EDIT : a deep deep multiple uninstall of drivers finally fixed the trouble , but weird this happened in the same time on my two windows 10 rigs.

if you go to the win10 update settings page you can pull a list of the dates win10 installed updates, see if they correspond to the dates you had the problems.

this is one reason why i mine on win7. i tell it to monitor for but not install updates till i can review them.

yeah  of 7 gpu rigs

3 = smOS
3 = windows 7

1 = win 10  and this need 3x the software maintenance to keep mining

EDIT : a deep deep multiple uninstall of drivers finally fixed the trouble , but weird this happened in the same time on my two windows 10 rigs.

if you go to the win10 update settings page you can pull a list of the dates win10 installed updates, see if they correspond to the dates you had the problems.

this is one reason why i mine on win7. i tell it to monitor for but not install updates till i can review them.

Hi guys, anybody experiencing trouble with windows and error 43 in device manager today ?


I got all my cards with error 43 yesterday in a windows 10 rigs, and didn't manage to fix it after amd uninstall and driver reinstall.
This rigs worked well since 10 days.
Todays another windows 10 rigs is doing the same.

I think maybe this is related to a windows update or something Huh
I might be not the only one ?

question was geared towards more of a _profit_difference_ in comparison to "uniminer" software directly (auto/pilot mode with only added addy) vs registering on site and selling hash power vs no registration, but using command line interface via claymoore/ccminer/etc directly, attached to either nicehash pool, or other pools.
 I saw a screenshot of a Philipma1957 where Nicehash sell power stats are shown and there was like only 1-2 protocols/coins mined with huge accent on ETH... with impressive daily stats...  so, after seeing that, a question came to my mind - should i do same(sell hashpower) vs just mine it via Nicehash "universal miner" I wont remember where i saw that screenshot, been through too many posts since that...

p.s. my stats look like quarters aka they split by about 25% on each protocol - lbry/daggerhashimoto/equihash/lyra2rev2 this is how nicehash uniminer switching between them for better profitability in autopilot mode

what are tickers for those coins?

is DASH any good for mining right now?

trying to figure out what wallet will be best to hold all, as of right now everything goes to BTC addy and perhaps i should consider mining exact coins directly...

Correct.   The only link to you, is posting the address online, or the primary way is exchanging to fiat.

They guy plans on playing games when PC is not mining and mine in all other time,  so SLI should do good, other than that i did not see any difference in SLI/NO SLI, exxcept on windows 10, when OS wants cards to be SLI'd, but it does not insist on it, it just says "You card performance is not optimal, please connect sli bridge for optimal performance" thats about it.

Here are some benchmarks on  EVGA 3x 1070 SLi'd Components used are from older system based on EVGA NFORCE 680i SLI/LGA775/DDR2 CORE2 DUO CPU WITH 6400 DDR2 RAM 8GB 80GB SATAIII HDD WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM.

p.s. It looks like 2x1080ti is about same as 3x1070 in performance, with price difference about 100-150$ it makes more sense to me to get 2x1080ti and SLI'em

Does SLI make a difference in mining?

IE...Would two 1080TI's perform differently in SLI mode compared to non-SLI mode? (Hashing performance and power).  

PS...In my Country 2 1080ti's = $1480 and 3 1070's=$1155 so the TI's are only really worth it if space is limited.

SLI for mining = no affect not important.

If space is not an issue  1070's may be better

It's a risk, up to you to assess how small or large.  GFCI the circuit that serves the room, maybe.

 DO PUT A GFCI (either a replace-the-outlet type or replace the breaker in the panel doesn't matter which) on any circuit that serves a fan in a window.




Interesting point,  why exactly do you say that, I can think of multiple reasons that could have validity now.  I'd think you do want to be alerted to the rain somehow, if it's more than just some spitting you might want to close the window to avoid damaging the room interior or equipment, but if there's no ups on the equipment in the room it's just a kaboom, power cutout.  I wonder if there's a moisture sensor that would work if it rains in, I think those are pretty commonly available for early detection of plumbing floods now.  But then that leads to what if you're not home and can't get there quick enough?  I'm starting to think a rain cap like on a chimney, but I can't see that working for a window.  Maybe the window is just too easy an intake solution.

 However, if the window is on the "normally downwind" side of your home, the screen should keep any water from entering your home that way.


 Having both intake AND exhaust fans is generally redundant - IMO go all one or all the other, don't mix-and-match or you're wasting electricity for little or no return.

 Pushing or pulling air in the same direction as it's natural flow (either through heat rise or wind pass through) works better than trying to fight the natural flow.

 I like the Gigabyte 2 fan model 1070s https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125875 which are fairly often on sale for about as low as any other 1070 model but seem to clock as high as any of them.
 Their ITX 1070 model https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125893 isn't quite as fast, but works VERY nicely in the "outside" slot of my 3-card rigs for heat management on the middle card as it's only about 7" long and leaves one fan on the middle card completely clear.

Hi guys hoping to get some feedback on my room plan:



#1 is my current plan: pull cold air in from the window and push them over rigs with fans behind each rig, then pull hot air out from the front of the rigs and use an exhaust fan in the ceiling to collect hot air and exhaust it out of the roof.  This should be sufficient cooling for about the ~105 GPUs I can fit on that shelving unit

HOWEVER! I would like to leave open the possibility of expanding in the future without having to move the exhaust fan's ceiling location. So I was wondering if #2 would work if I double my size. As you can see I'd be using fans on the ground to push the incoming air up at all the rigs but I'm unsure if that 15 ft (4.5m) is too much distance to hope to carry the air.

Fwiw, I'm dealing with 75-85 Fahrenheit (24-29c) ambient temps

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Yeah that is a concern for me. However I have the window screen still on so that should help.
   pull from the window  go out the roof.


if rain is an issue.  make a   hood to block the rain.

intake fans are less important then exhaust.  and exhaust out the roof  is best as hot air rises.

It's a risk, up to you to assess how small or large.  GFCI the circuit that serves the room, maybe.  Possibly just as easy as a single electrical outlet changeout, don't remember for sure.  You seem to like Home Depot, so http://www.homedepot.com/p/Leviton-20-Amp-125-Volt-AFCI-GFCI-Dual-Function-Outlet-White-AGTR2-W/300049855.  $26, and a decent industrial grade outlet has to be what, 4-5 bucks tops now, my WAG?  I definitely regret all the ones I've replaced with dollar ones now, just because of house cleaners yanking vacuum cleaner cords out the easy way.

water can easily get past the screen, they just gonna get a bit smaller..try it, sprinkle some and see the results..

considered thinking about drawing air from the ceiling?...fans are still on the windows(pushing air out of it) air will be pulled from the door and ceiling as fans in the windows exhaust hot air.

Hm yeah I could do that too. I didn't even consider that I always just assumed it would be best to go from the window.

The door leads to another interior room though, that's kinda hot in general. I may be able to intake air from the roof and disperse it through ducts at ground level though. And use fans on the ground to push that cool air up.
