I found this article on how to manually set the P state. http://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/p0-power-state/ But...  my version of the driver 381.65 does NOT return the power state table, so I'm unsure of what to set.  I'll experiment with values and see what happens.

I tried the 381 series driver on one of my LINUX machines today - NOTHING but issues, so I rolled that machine back to 375.

Often times the "latest and greatest" driver version *might* be good for some games, but often breaks things or works MUCH worse on mining.

I have done a lot of testing; 378.13 is currently the best for linux.

Looking to pick up another card. debating between a 1070 8gb or rx480 8gb. What hash rate are you guys getting from a 1070 8gb?

28.5 ballpark on ETH, 380 on ZEC, mem clocks +400 and don't think I changed anything else.

I'm pretty sure ALL GTX 1070 are 8GB, BTW - even the Gigabyte "ITX" short-card model is.

Phil, Saw this.... is this legit?
I see that you have inquired for a unit.
Looks like its Panda clone.
I email asiabtc if I could buy only the motherboard but no reply yet.

LIGHTNINGASIC has lauched 8XGPU miner. 32XGPU miner will come in 2-3 monthes.

I actually looked at the PCIE bus splitter chips.  Ill be throwing a datasheet at my father to see if he would be interested in a retirement project (he's designed mostly RF, like missile guidance, GPS, VOIP hardware, etc).

It seems pretty simple via the datasheet;  the hard part is the R&D;  making the prototypes and etc with no special gear at all....

Just FYI;  lightningasic is less than stellar with support (the wiibox firmware comes to mind for instance) so I hope they fix their old ways....

Yup it looks like someone copied and slightly changed the pandaminer board design.

I hope they start selling bare bones kits of the board and a case.

If they sell the board by itself, I may buy one and send it over to spotswood so he can create an open air rig out of it.

Just purchased a couple 1080ti today and will be setting up a ZEC rig in the coming days.

What's the sweet spot clock/memory speed for best power usage? I've read about 60% TDP is best

For those that have 1080ti's what are you running yours at?

Having a bit of trouble with a 1080 on an AMD 990FX mobo.  The 1080 Nvidia card is Dell branded, if that matters, not "retail".  My 1070 Zotac works just fine in this machine.

The machine will not even post if the 1080 is the only card.  If it is a secondary card, it is not detected by windows 10.  If I put the card in an Intel-based motherboard, all is well.

Any ideas?  I really want to keep it in the rig it is in, but I'm not having much luck.

I know it sounds stupid for me to say this, but try a clean install and download of the driver for the 1080 specifically.  Ive noticed going backwards isnt bad, going up in generations (driver wise) is....

I have the wires and still can't find the Pico or the Psu breakout😒

I am out of town for today I am at a wake.

I will return tues and look a bit more.

I have the wires which are nice.
I will set something up some way on weds.

In the meantime coins are over 1400.

Good thing I held some.

Polo is a sea of red and I just bought a ton of XMR  - keeping fingers crossed.

Looks like your 1070 is hashing fine.

Your card isn't mostly in p2 state while mining, not p0.

There's ways to force it via the built in nvidia tools, or to use kboost in precision x 16.

Follow the batch link in my sig for info on forcing p0 state.  3 links deep.

I opened up the nvidia control panel applet in the windows settings, and my hash rate jumped from 390 to 460 H/s.  The rendering of the spinning nvidia logo made the card jump to a higher performing state.  Power went from 50W to 80W, though, as reported by Afterburner.  What is a reasonable power draw for the 1070?

Well those first 390h you are at 7.8 h to 1 watt which is really good.

When you are at 460h  you are at 5.75 h to 1 watt which is not as good but still good.

I measure at the wall with a kwatt meter and I do 3.3 h per watt.

I know at the wall is  more power used .  I am not sure what my afterburner shows for power since I run windows 7  .

I found this article on how to manually set the P state. http://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/p0-power-state/ But...  my version of the driver 381.65 does NOT return the power state table, so I'm unsure of what to set.  I'll experiment with values and see what happens.

sorry about the late reply been busy , the above is what i get

well since ppl declined to post thier 1070 ZEC settings
I was able to get the whole rig down to 750 watt using 60% power limit and reducing the core overclock to 0.

total hash lower a bit 2400 but only 105 or so watt per card now. Seems the core on these cards does nothing even dual mining eth and DCR only mem an power target seem to affect speed

Also, Amazon Store Card with Prime gets you 5% cash back on all purchases.  You also have the option for 6 or 12 months no interest instead of the cashback.  Sometimes you can find retailers on there selling from another state that doesn't charge taxes as well.  This is how I've been buying most of my gear.

I like Amazon with gift cards. I earn 20 in amazon gift cards every month.  So i Would get a card once a year or so.  I like the return policy they have.

I have found some very solid eBay sellers with no tax 30 day returns and I try to wait for ebuck sales. 8% or 10% off the list price then use paypal credit 6 months to pay.

can't complain about that.

If I spend btc it is a cash out on coinbase.

I've been doing Amazon store card for 5% back and subscribe and save 15+% off for several years. I compare to walmart and it's almost always same price or close enuf on basics every body needs.  Takes some discipline but I'be not paid a fricking dime in interest yet.  Took me awhile to get my game going but retail shopping is minimal for us now except groceries.  Finally got thumped on sales tax last month but that was a LONG time coming.  If you're good at not carrying credit balances you beat them at their game SO easy.   They don't care because most people suck at beating their game.

I average over a hundred Amazon buys per year on Prime and actually profited a bunch reselling their phones that weren't for me and a few other things. Not to mention time and money savings driving around buying stuff and bunches of easy promos..  All hail Amazon, you just have to do 15 minutes a week work once you work it out to win their game if you're well informed.

Sorry to be a bit off topic but you can beat electronics pricing there too sometimes if you play your cards right and learn how they screw a lotta people.  You don't have to be in that group.

Selling there can be teh same on cheap items, I make 50% gross profit often on certain dollar store items and the buyers are 99.9% happy.  I like carrying 0 inventory on that dollar store stuff. Smiley

Phil just got the RX480's delivered at the house, will be installing them tomorrow or Wednesday. You happen to remember what settings you ran with them? I will start there for baseline testing. Thanks.

well on smOS i did

I always ran them on smOS

for zec i did

Phil, been fiddling with the cards for a week now in smOS and think I found a pretty stable OC for them all. I flashed all 4 cards and was able to get much better speeds in both Ethereum mining and Eth+Decred.

Using your values above I was able to get around 24.5 MH/s dual mining with eth at around 135 watts. After flashing I was able to reach speeds around 29.3 MH/s dual mining and dropping memclocks to 2185 (2200 was too unstable I saw big fluctuations in MH/s).

Right now after flashing I'm sitting around 117 MH/s for Eth while dual mining.

They will solo mine eth at 30.4 MH/s. I will be testing them on ZEC soon.

Using custom .bat on claymore v9.3:

-wd 1 -r 1 -epool stratum+tcp://eth-us-east1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal $walletETH/$rigName -esm 0 -epsw x -allpools 1 -mport -3333 -dpool stratum+tcp://dcr.suprnova.cc:3252 -dwal worker.1 -dpsw x -dcri 30

Will be fine tuning Powerstage (currently 4) and testing stability. Cards have worked flawlessly thanks!
yeah they were a good deal. especially that you can flash them correctly.  nothing wrong with flashing a card if you know how to do it.
