I stand with Ukraine.
~
I had over 2800 tickets last week still nothing. I'm almost buying a few hundred tickets every week from the beginning but until now no luck yet. Since there are so many people participating in the lottery so winning chances are very slim so just try our luck every week with a small amount. After all those improvements last week number tickers sold was quite less.

I agree, mate. I'm not going to buy millions of tickets in order to improve my chances of winning a prize. I think millions of sats is a too big amount to put it at risk. Although, it must be noted that the two previous winners have done exactly that. One of them bought 6,276,181 tickets and won 0.68563256 BTC in the round 169 (net win 0.62 BTC). And another one bought 2,120,960 tickets and won 0.46195317 BTC (net win 0.44 BTC).

Nevertheless, like you said, we'll try our luck with small amounts. Let's hope that one day we'll be as lucky as user 13858834, who won 1.23699432 BTC with just 340 tickets in the Lottery Round 164. Smiley

To tell the truth I didn't fully understand how exactly you excluded bots from the lottery

I'd love to tell you what we're doing but the botters read this so I won't. A couple of very well informed people contacted me with a lot of insight. I passed that on to wetsuit, along with some ideas of how to use that information and then we come up with some measures to detect them. He does all the really hard work of programming it all up.

I think the lottery is doing really good this week, tickets down to a projected 310 million last time I calculated it. The botters haven't given up as you will see from the new signups on our stats page. But I can say that the vast majority of them are getting 0 Satoshi from us  Wink

That's really nice to hear. I wish I could help you like those very well informed people you've mentioned, but unfortunately I'm far from being that good in coding.

Now I'm determined to buy 500-1,000 tickets each lottery round. I've noticed that almost in every round someone with less than 1,000 tickets wins something. For example in the very last round someone with just 194 tickets won 0.11548829 BTC. I won nothing with my 500 tickets but I understand that the win chance was extremely small. Let's see what happens with 1k tickets. Smiley

Wow! Wagering really increases reward points quite a bit, I made a total wager of ~0.1BTC (I was down but about 0.01BTC at one point but managed to get myself back up)... Anyway, I now have 60000 reward points from that one session, and 19K lottery tickets so maybe it was worthwhile...

Quite fun when you get the lottery tickets and reward points, when I came here in 2015 with my 0.003BTC to gamble, it wasn't as good without them so I didn't really use this site - and actually that session only lost me 0.001BTC.

Edit: made myself a neat 0.0003BTC profit Grin.

Well done. Those Reward Points do add up quickly especially on the bigger weekend bonuses. It was nice to see the lottery dominated by tickets gained from large wagering this week as well.

I'm not sure a win would go so far towards that, I think they're quite a bit more expensive than the 0.5BTC or so that you can win...

It would definitely help Wink
And I think the botter-lottery pot is a bit bigger than 0.5 BTC

I only have limited access at the moment so I can see the data I need for each user. I don't have the ability to run custom searches like that.

Ah right.. that's a bit disappointing.

I'm still a fan of giving the botted lottery winnings to the other people from the same drawings, just drawing again. of course because I had plenty tickets in that round Cheesy
Nah, the botters are still in on it.
I'd suggest a month-long lottery would be a good idea.

And because i need an engagement ring.

True, but I mean you could just redraw again until none of the identified accounts are amongst the winners. But meh. I just want higher chances Sad

And because i need an engagement ring.

The three affected rounds the botters had ~ 80%, 65% and 40% of the tickets respectively and there is no easy way to remove them from the ticket files. So there's not much point trying to do that.

I'm still waiting for a better idea to come along.

@thequin, did you work out what you were doing with the lottery winnings confiscated from the botnets?

Since you now have access to the user database, is there a lot of people who have disabled the lottery and/or interest?

I have visited many other small gambling sites and I have checked their lotteries and contests and most of them are only won by 1 to 5 different users, which will raise a immediate red flag for me.  Roll Eyes

The only other site I play at these days is crypto-games.net and their wagering contest only displays one previous month's winners' lists. Often the same players are involved as obviously there are not that many high rollers around.

There's nothing to stop conspiracy theorists from keeping their own list.  Roll Eyes

Is there any option to browse through the contest page in order to see the list of previous winners who won the wagering contest and referral contest for Round 1? There is an option on the lottery page that allows the users to browse through previous rounds to view the lottery winners, maybe the admin can consider adding this function to the wagering contest too.

We do that on the lottery because people might want to check against the ticket list which they can still find the link to on our Twitter feed. I can't really think why anyone would want to check further back than the last wagering competition.

Well, it should be quite obvious.  Wink We want to calculate how many times people have won any of the previous contests, like we do with the Lottery. Any site like to gather statistics as proof that they had previous contests and many winners, because people will feel more comfortable if they see previous statistics of other people participating in these contests.

Plenty of time for someone to come in and take the $10,000 first prize.
looks like 14354171 did take over #1 on wagering contest with BTC114+
and it seems he might have used his own referral id, and won #2 on referral contest
total BTC1.75 from both contest, not a bad haul... assuming he's not losing more than that Grin

Only 10 hours left in this months wagering contest.

Plenty of time for someone to come in and take the $10,000 first prize.

There's only about 10% between the top three so it will be interesting to see who wins (as it's very close)...
