Previously, Lens still had a good record for being team to only get one defeat, but in the match yesterday, Lens actually got its second defeat of the season and this defeat was accepted by Lens at home. The defeat also made Lens drop to third place in the Ligue 1 standings for the time being, and it seems that over time it is possible that Monaco will also be able to overtake Lens.

Also, in yesterday's match against Nice the reality was that Lens could only excel in ball possession and it seemed that Lens lost creativity, so Lens got stuck in being able to create opportunities to score goals.

Marseille is the team in second place now, but they are 5 points behind psg, i thought either Lens or Marseille was going to challenge psg for the Ligue 1 title, but they are inconsistent and i don't feel they will.

Yesterday match outcome for Psg is really good, it seems they have step up their games but their next match will convince me, PSG is very inconsistent when it comes to winning matches, they are not the team to give predict most time they fail to deliver, PSG   has to do more now because their is a little gap so they have to cover it totally.

Even though it is back as before for PSG and Marseille, Lens is only 1 point away from Marseille and it can still be shifted to its position in the standings. For PSG they are now safer with a distance of 5 points from their competitors, at least that's a pretty good capital to secure their position. But something else we don't know for sure could change quickly in the next few matches in Ligue 1 and it's a must watch for teams at the top.

I have just gotten to read that Paris Saint Germans will be with French player Kylian Mbappe for a total of three weeks as it's reported that he'll miss the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich which should be held during valentine's day.
What does he's absence bring to the squad? Negativity gone for good ? Or He's being a bad influence as he doesn't flow around with Lionel Messi and Neymar. Big games as this are games we see elite players coming out outstanding

IMO, PSG are a strong team. they have a depth of players that can really be relied on, including the defense that PSG has. they have, Ramos, Mendes, Marquinhos and Hakimi. and if they don't suffer any injuries, PSG's defense is pretty solid.

The problem is with the coach. how he played the formation, tactics, and strategy. not infrequently, Galtier focuses more on the front lines with an attacking formation scheme pattern. at the beginning of this season, PSG played very consistently but in the second half of the mission. their performance, slightly decreased.
I don't know what Galtier is planning, he often tweaks formations and rotates his players. not infrequently, in almost every fight he always changes his strategy. unfortunately, the players are not always able to perform at their best. sometimes, their midfield players don't contribute much. in particular, the times against teams that tend to play defensively. PSG lack attacking midfielders, Vitinha did not always contribute. and their defensive midfielder, still need to improve.

In last night's game, Galtier changed the formation again and rotated his players. he uses a 4-1-3-2 formation pattern. meanwhile, the opposing team with a 3-5-2 pattern. in the end, PSG won the game and their defense was quite solid.

So, Warren Zaire has become the youngest scorer in the history of PSG. It's a great achievement to be listed among the youngest-ever goalscorers in Ligue 1. You can see Messi's joy when he celebrates the youngster's goal. Taking advantage of his playing under the shadow of a lot of star players, he could become a great figure. Whenever he plays along the goat, he will surely score a goal or at least sharpen his tactical skills.

So, they have to do something like this, yes, they have to start believing in young players to play and help the team. If they never try it then they will not know the potential that each of their young players has. I think they should start creating their own academy and promote it. Things like this will be very good for the development of a team in the future.

Another highlight of the match was a goal from a young PSG player, Warren Zaire, who was still 16 years old. even though he was only a substitute, what Zaire showed was very good. now PSG has young players who are also talented and have great potential in Europe. did not rule out, he could become a great figure in the future.

Last time Lyon playing at champion league on 2019 season and at that time Rudi Garcia can bringing this team qualified to round of 16 before they were defeated by Barcelona and after that Lyon never been playing at this competition again even they always be finish at the middle of standings league and Lyon are having a hard time in the last 4 years because they were changing coaches 3 times and after Laurent Blanc taking over this team Lyon performance also not so different such as last season

Even since October Lyon under Blanc only can able to gets 4 wins from 10 matches and finish at european competition seems quite impossible for them because Rennes, Lille and Lorient had same target too and the performance of these teams is clearly better than Lyon

PSG left the field with a 3-1 win. However, Mbappe played the worst for PSG in this match. Mbappe's performance was not good at all. He missed a penalty early on. But the most interesting thing is that Messi scored a goal against Montpellier yesterday. And that record is PSG second goal against Montpellier, the 697th goal of a European club career. Messi now owns the most goals among all players in Europe top 5 leagues. With this goal, he surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo who scored 696 goals.

PSG don't feel a lot of competition in Ligue 1, perhaps that's why their results are not so impressive, as they know that if one of the opponents gets too close, they can prevent him from overtaking them. But their competitors help to them, Lance lost to Nice yesterday and has already dropped to third place.

if PSG manages to improve their defense then they will not have big problems in the games and consequently they will be able to be comfortable at the top, but if their defense problems are not solved or at least minimized then we will see PSG having a lot of pressure from the opponents because there will be games in which PSG will lose points, so far as PSG's attack can score a lot of goals so even if they concede 1 or 2 goals in a game they can win, but that's not something safe

they need to improve their defense, when I watch PSG games I see their defense making simply unacceptable mistakes, something that shocks me. even in their last game, they conceded a goal that if they had a good defense they would not have conceded that goal, so PSG will lose in the champions league game

Usually Lyon has always been a team that occupies the top 4 in the standings a few years ago, but now they have declined and it is difficult to compete at the top like they did a few years ago. Last season they finished in 8th place and now they are in 10th place in the standings. It is very difficult for them to push their way up to the top because any other team that is there is doing better than what Lyon is doing. But they still have the opportunity to do that even though the chance is very small.

Paris SG will play better games with this point difference, it will not give the lead with its morale. Already the year Lille became the champion, they received great reactions, they are trying very hard to prevent it from happening again this year. Naturally, big reactions can be seen if a team that is expected to achieve more success does not win the league championship. I think Paris SG will win the championship by taking it ahead of its rivals and widening the points gap.

When I see Lyon on 10th place , I do wonder , what happened there , because not so far ago , 2 years to be precise , they had a competitive team ready to play in UCL once again and they did but since that semi-finals of UCL , they were on a down spiral that seems to never end for them. Sure , lately they had some great games here and there , scored some points , solidify their position on Ligue 1 but that's kinda all because they are 11 points away for European Spots and only a miracle could make them catch Conference League at least.

I'm also curious if PSG will lose some points from now on because Marseille are chasing hard it seems without losing points with not so important teams.

Montpellier lost with the team (PSG) because they didn't have good stars.  The Montpellier side couldn't attack much at all while Paris Saint-Germain always had more of the ball and attacked the most.  Meanwhile, PSG club is made up of Europe's biggest stars and Lionel Messi and Fabian Ruiz scored in this match.  And their performances bring joy to football lovers.  Looking at the points table of the two teams, there is a lot of difference.

So some of our thoughts yesterday turned out to be true. Marseille and Monaco continue their chase, while Lens dropped off. It is to be expected, as I keep saying, Lens is overperforming.

Not a surprise. Lens is favorite because of form and performance, bookies were just adjusting odds.

They cannot sustain a winning season for their style of play, which is only meant to get midtable positions. I know it's just the french league but all the top teams use direct passing offence, Lens has target man. Even Haaland at Dortmund proves you can't win like this.
