Paris Saint-Germain made a good start to the season by making a goal show. Scoring 5 away goals against Clermont is a great success.
Lionel Messi started with two goals and an assist. He showed that he is much better than last season. Neymar scored a goal and had three assists. Paris Saint-Germain played one sided in the match. They didn't have any danger in their goal. It should be nice to start with a clear win and three points. They will be champions again this year.
The quality of the team has improved significantly compared to last year. You can see Neymar prioritizing passing to Messi over anyone else. I watched the full match, but I thought Messi would not score again with only assists but in the 80th minute, he scored two goals, and the second goal was Messi's first overhead in his career. It was a fun game.
Teamwork was very strong in the first Ligue 1 match of the season, PSG's game was more cohesive and mutual trust between players. Neymar contribution was extraordinary when his team won big against Clermont, Neymar managed to donate 1 goal and 3 assists in this match. Neymar maturity was increasingly seen when he provided 3 assists which were successfully utilized perfectly by Hakimi, Marquinhos and Messi.
PSG's performance has been very entertaining, they seem to prioritize the team over individual records. Galtier must be able to maintain harmony between players for the next match, especially in the Champions League stage.

Paris SG is too good a team for this league. So no matter how good Marseille and Lille are, Paris SG is the strongest contender for the title. I'm thinking of Paris SG as they won the league by a wide margin this year. We saw once again how good they were in the match where Paris SG won 5-0 in the first week.

You can look at it from the other side: it's not PSG that's good (I would say it's bad because it's bad to be a cheater), but the control of the FFP by the corrupt UEFA is very bad. If the rules of the FFP were followed then PSG would be at the level of the rest of the French teams (maybe a little better). Now they are just an expensive toy in the hands of sheikhs.

Psg, lille and marseille teams seems in a really good shape they all Win comfortably i know psg will still likely win the ligue 1 but still if there are multiple teams in a great shape we will see a more exciting season, messi and neymar duo seem to be working well and when mbappe join it will be the strongest psg attack ever.

Yes, although there are other teams who are also in good form at the beginning of the season but they will not be able to be consistent throughout the season, in contrast to PSG they have the ability to be consistent with the squad they have. So yes, even though the Ligue 1 title race is not competitive but Ligue 1 still provides great competition for Champions League spots. If the rivals you mention can also be consistent throughout the season then the title race will happen but I personally don't really believe they can do the same as PSG did.

What I liked the most about the first game day in Ligue 1 was actually the shape in which Messi has been. That was really promising for the rest of the season. The last season I felt that it might be finally over for the biggest genius soccer has ever seen, but that game was full of dribblings, clever passings (the one to Neymar in the back of the box), and also his goals. Really refreshing to see that and I truly hope we'll see a Messi who may not be as good as in his old days, but still can be the sneakiest and most intelligent player on the pitch.
Messi performance on this season looks promising after he was success scored two goals and one assist on first match, I think he will have different performance and result than last season. Actually I brave for predicting with Lionel Messi become top scorer on Ligue 1 although looks still early because just have one match only on Ligue 1. Lionel Messi have adapt with Ligue 1 culture and atmosphere, right now he know how can adapt with Ligue 1 games and can consistent keep showing the best performance for goals and assist contribution with PSG.

It is also clear that Paris Saint-Germain is not desperate to keep Neymar. The club wants to cut down on expenses and they also want to rebuild the team around Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe. Neymar Junior is not a humble player and his personality clash with Mbappe would cause more harm than good to PSG. The best option he has now is to leave the team even if it would lead to a cut in his pay. Age is no longer on his side and he is always prone to injury, hence he should not expect much from the transfer market. If he still wants to remain in PSG, then he must work harder to improve his play and be humble.
What happens is that the attitude or rather the personality of the player Neymar Jr has always been like that, he looks like he's arrogant, although I think the player is really humble, and apart from that the player has a lot of competition, he's a player who always wants to dominate, even in Barcelona he always wanted to kick the free kicks when he knew that Messi was in charge, with the Uruguayan at PSG he also had his friction, it will be to wait and see how the player performs in the league.

Regardless of what he does, critics will criticize him. Neymar is being ridiculed as if he's not a prime rib pack in the world of football. It is not necessary for Neymar to prove himself to anyone, as he recently spoke out. Considering the stats, his only crime is giving into injury. If their coach agrees with his play mode, then he don't have to prove themselves right to anyone. The Brazilian star is one of the best players in the world and a samba boy. All these controversy could be avoided if he was disciplined and focused. In the big stages such as the UCL, PSG needs him to remain consistent and deliver.

Well, PSG's pre-season was in Japan and really many critics gave Neymar their all, they had no compassion, I know that Neymar sometimes exaggerates a lot in his plays when some other player puts his foot in him and he falls, but I think that this time if they captured him and criticized him so strongly that on his twitter he also answered them very harshly and also let them know that all his life he had never spoken out, but he said it was time to break that silence and defend himself when they accused him of something that he was right, the unfair accusations is what he reacted to (according to him) I think he is a public figure and star, sometimes calmness is needed and I don't think so many people should mess with him, I already think he is becoming something that is going much more than sports.

The truth is that I would like another team in the French league like this one to shine with more intensity, that is, we are all used to PSG being the undisputed leader of Grancia, but what would happen if Marseille does not make it easy for PSG? this would speak highly of them and very badly of PSG, because PSG is a team with many stars and many good things can be done, everything depends on the coach in power and knowing how to exploit those skills.

There is no denying that PSG had a great start and they are showing that they have a lot of level to win the league again and threaten the greats in the UCL, which for me is the Sheikh's main purpose.

Yes, you are absolutely right, what happens is that most of us have a chip that tells us that a soccer player, no matter how famous he may be, after a certain age we once classify him as losing certain faculties, but not skills, he may not be as fast as before, but he has something very important and that is experience and everything that has to do with applying and knowing when to apply speed, because they do not lose technique thanks to training.

I also liked Neymar's performance, these players may be saving some of their best strategies for the World Cup, but not much because they have to prove their level to be an undisputed starter for their national team in the World Cup and not a new player relieve them this year.

I agree 100% with what you said. The reason I actually watched some of the PSG game is not because I thought it's going to be a real thriller between two strong teams Cheesy I just wanted to see how the offense if PSG is actually doing and indeed, Neymar was also strong. I would love to see another strong team in Ligue 1, at least one real contender. But everything goes according to normal, everyone knows the outcome before game day number 1.

I don't expect that to happen anytime soon and the sheikhs don't care about the attractiveness of Ligue 1 either because as you said, the only thing that counts is the Champions League. I guess it is very similar for the superstars too. Sure they like playing soccer, but really, Messi, Neymar,  they have had more thrilling games in their career long before.

Indeed it is like that, for now I have seen how Marseille has played and I have a lot of faith in it, and I don't know, but I am very intrigued by what Lyon can offer this season, because it really is another team that has been showing very little what he can do, it really is something that he has given me, I don't know if it will be a hunch, but for me if a team comes out that gives PSG a lot of competition and makes it difficult for them I would be very pleased, because it is as you say, they have a Neymar and Messi connected, but we all know that PSG has been revolving only around Mbappé, in fact they said No to CR7 because the PSG CR7 project does not fit him, so obviously they are betting on the youth .

For this reason it is that when Messi and Neymar don't contribute as much as they want due to their age, it is where the other teams must take advantage of such weakness, and I see both Marseille and Lyon as the two good options.

what I also noticed is that PSG are going to win ligue so comfortably which not good for a viewer that likes watching exciting competitive football matches, seeing PSG playing well made me think about Champions League and their chances there, but I'm going to be honest and say, Ligue 1 is just one team, PSG.

Marseille were one of the impressive teams of the first week. They were expected to defeat Reims of course but they showed a very solid performance. Even though the statistics tell that these teams had a similar effort the result wasn't like that. Marseille showed their quality and won by 4-1. Nuno Tavares scored in his first match which should be very satisfying for him. Maybe Marseille can help him improve his performance much more and earn his place back at Arsenal who knows.
People who do not watch the games would say that it was an expected result. But, people who did watch the game will say that they played better than expected, even though they were expected to win, they still managed to beat the teams and that's an important thing.

I believe that we shouldn't be shocked to see Marseille being second team this year if they keep it up. They do not have players who are superstar potential people, but they do have players who know their roles very well and playing very well too. What I think will happen is that they will most probably end up with a good result but probably end up not being as good as this game in the long run.

1xBit.. recovered their reputation
In the first round of Ligue 1 there were no surprises. The favorites won their matches. PSG, Lille and Olympique Marseille in particular showed a high form from the beginning of the tournament. I hope that this situation will continue for a long time and PSG will not completely dominate the league this time.
I also hope that there is a team in the French league that can compete with PSG so that the atmosphere of the league is more exciting, not dominated by just one team as happened in the Bundesliga (Bayern)

anyway, it was a great performance from marseille after their top striker Luis Suarez came on in the second half and made 2 goals. other news, marseille will be the arrival of a new player (sanchez) from inter milan, marseille's strength will increase

I think Lionel Messi will have chance back to be top scorer exactly with PSG after first match success contributed with two goals. But depending when Mbappe back to team will make Messi not priority for scoring goals? we know about Mbappe issues when extended contract with PSG because he has own priority and club most prefer him than other player.
Lionel Messi does not care too much about the highest goal scorers chart, he is a team player, and what he concerns himself more is the team winning, whatever clause mbappe has in his contract will not affect messi, the seven time ballon d'or winner is not a player that any club can upset, his records in the game are enough to give him his respect and flowers, so i am sure the manager will work towards harmony between the three superstars, any of them can be highest goal scorer, but if the team have high ambitions, that is not what they will be looking at, it is how many trophies can they win that they should concern themselves with.

Lionel Messi is still one of the leading players in the world. And he has achieved a lot in his life. So it is absolutely OK if he doesn't care about trophies right now. I know he cares about trophies. But he is concerned about winning. And what I like about him is that he does not have any ego.

I understood that when he laid down behind the wall to defend a free kick. For him, I don’t think whatever is transpiring in the PSG squad matters too much. He is determined to keep doing what he loves, playing football at the top level. And for someone who has achieved so much in his career, being on top of the most goals scored list is not a priority in my opinion.
If you look at last year, Messi prepared very seriously this year both for the league and for the world cup. We miss this form so much. They became a great duo with Neymar. But I think there is a problem with Mbappe situation. All opportunities are offered to Mbappe, so Messi's number of goals was low last year. Messi wants to score, mbappe wants to score, neymar wants to score. So, each of them can't score 40 goals. Therefor,  the opportunities are offered to Mbappe. That's why Messi couldn't score many goals. They are much better without Mbappe's selfish football.

It is difficult to call this a great achievement considering the difference in the class of teams. PSG could have achieved victory even with the help of a reserve squad. But in any case, it was a good victory, much better than last season, when PSG had problems almost all the time at the beginning of the game, and then overcame them. By the way, last year's pattern repeats (I hope): when all the star three play together, PSG have problems, when one is missing, then the game goes easily.
Harmony between players must be maintained by Galtier to achieve a pleasant final goal. PSG's big win was the start of a beautiful career for Galtier as a coach, there are still a lot of games to go through this season. Big wins in League 1 are common to PSG, I want to see Messi, Neymar and Mbappe work together to lead PSG to win the Champions League, it will be a very extraordinary moment in my opinion.

The problem is that the stars, especially this trinity, do not really like rough work. When all three of them are on the field, this weakens the center of the PSG field (in terms of defense), how critical this is, it will be clear only after games with serious opponents, most likely this will happen only in the Champions League. As for the tasks of the head coach, they depend on his powers, I'm not sure that Galtier's word is stronger than the words of Mbappe, for example.

Marseille played well and won 4-1. But it cannot be said that Reims played badly. Reims players also played well enough. But Marseille's defenders were able to successfully block every attack from Reims' players. Young Luis Suarez played very well and managed to score two goals. Marseille's next match is against Brest. Hopefully Marseille will be able to win the next match as well.

Lionel Messi has regained his lost masterclass performance. He was almost everywhere in the pitch; attacking and winning loosed balls. His partnership with Neymar was very productive and we saw the results. My only fear is Kylian Mbappé. With these three world class players in one team, would there be synergy like we say in the match against Clermont Foot? I hope Paris Saint-Germain would not regret keeping Neymar because of his constant competition with Mbappé? If these three players would drop personal ambition and pursue the collective goal of PSG, then the club might achieve more this season.

Lionel Messi scoring an over head kick was super beautiful to watch.
Kept the goal keeper on the same spot.
That was an awesome take from Messi, but it should be no where close to Ronaldo's goal.
People are comparing the goals.
