PSG finally showing us what they could do with their trio. I mean Mbappe could be missing but they had Messi and Neymar scoring and that was the only thing that was needed. The whole idea is that they have three players who are at the superstar level, you can't get better than that and they are using this trio in a way that if one of them is not doing well then other two would, and if two does not so well at least one could try to survive, and if all three plays well then there is no team that can stand against them.
Hence, this 5-0 start is very important, maybe the game itself was unimportant but how they played to show the world what they are capable of was important.
Even though Mbappe did not play, PSG showed an extraordinary performance, indeed many people had predicted that PSG would beat Clermont.
Because after all, Clermont is a weak team, which the previous season was almost relegated, so Clermont will indeed have a hard time facing PSG.
What is interesting is that the cooperation between PSG players is so solid, especially their two star players Neymar and Messi, they both show
a big contribution. As you said PSG do need their star players to put out their best performance. Especially for Messi and Neymar who played in that
match, and if Mbappe returns to play I hope PSG's game will be much better. This is how PSG should play, if we look at PSG's game it looks like they
will easily win the Ligue 1 trophy. But the Ligue 1 trophy is not PSG's main priority, they want to win the Champions League trophy. Hopefully PSG's
victory against Clermont will be the first step for PSG to achieve the next victory.
