Give the PSG team time, they will definitely be more stable and strong. Although strong as a team, their performance has not impressed me. Messi-Neymar-Mbappe is one of the best players of this era. My expectation was that the PSG team would attack the opponent a lot and break the opponent’s defense. We have not seen anything like that yet. The coach should talk to the players, find out where the players are having problems. And to strengthen the bonds between the players.

It is good to see that Lille and Monaco both are getting better week by week. Last, Lille defeated even Marseille by 2-0. And the red card eased their job too as they found the second goal after that incident. But they still showed a good performance. And Monaco defeated Bordeaux by 3-0 which was a very solid result for them. They just had the control of the match and ended their opponent.

Now, Lille and Monaco both have 14 points and have been winning for three weeks. I hope that they can continue to climb the places.

I think that the surprising teams of this season are Lens and Nice. Lens are extremely good that they are already at the second place in the standings. They have a decent form and they were really lucky in their last game also as Reims got a red card. And we saw another victory for Lens. Considering the fact that Nice had a terrible season last and ended the season at the 9th place, they are doing awesome now. They are right behind Lens by 2 points. I wonder if this duo or at least one of them will be able to keep up their performance till the last week.

Well if what Mbappe said is true that he already informed them in July he wanted to leave, and then they said he only told them in late August, then I don't think there's already anything left to say or do. He's been upset by them, and now they're slinging mud saying Real is acting as if they already own Mbappe.

This is not going to end well, he will sign for someone else in January, and they missed out on 200 million euros.

Three players don't contribute too much for defense system and it would be serious weakness of PSG when they face with teams that have dangerous counter attacks. Bayern Munich is one of such opponents. Pochettino have to focus more on defensive midfielders and tactics to support defenders because I think he would not succeed to require Mbappe, Neymar or Messi to do defensive tasks.

Yes I thought of the same thing. Changed the normal 4-3-3 formation of three defensive midfielders to just two men midfield in a formation of 4-2-3-1. He wanted to experiment a new formation by involving Di maria but it back fired. Marco Verratti and Idrissa Gueye couldn't protect the the back line. It is normal if they lost a single game in about 10 games. Personally, the three man midfield is preferable considering the habit of the offensively players. Messi, Neymar, Mbappe do not help defensively and it endangers the team if there is no good defensive cover from the midfield. He is trying to involve Di Maria into the team, but it did not work out well against Rennes.

Well, as many have already pointed out, it wasn't SUCH a big shock actually, since Rennes have an incredible record against PSG. It's all about the bogey team when it comes to this type of football. Tactics can be nullified (zero shots on target proves this).

Perhaps in the past Rennes would be 10.x against PSG but their fans must be happy to get nice profits in every time they meet Wink

PSG have so far been proud of their winning streak and likewise, the UCL win over City might have made him think it would be easy to win against Rennes. But the fact is that even PSG were not able to make 1 shot on goal and that is a very bad statistic for a big team with many star players. I guess PSG had too many wins in a row and they were bound to lose at least one game all season, I did not see them winning the league undefeated, and it wasn't early on neither, they lost their first ever points on their 9th game. They are still 6 points ahead of the second closest team and this is just the 9th week, if they keep this level of difference then they would win the league by 20+ points, even as much as 25 points. I am not saying that the result by the end of the season will be like that, I am sure they will have even more losses and some draws as well.

However, having your first ever point loss in 9th game is a great way to start the league. I do not find any fault for them, you could lose to last team in the league if you won that much in a row, there is nothing they need to do to prove themselves, it is already obvious that they will be crowned champions.

Actually it is not surprising that PSG ended up losing, because it is very difficult to maintain successive wins. So PSG finally lost in week 9,
after previously winning 8 times in a row, it makes a lot of sense. Because PSG players are human too, there must be moments when their
performance drops. So I don't see PSG's defeat against Rennes as a big thing, PSG are just having bad luck, because in football matches
sometimes bad luck does happen. Moreover, PSG is still in first place and I believe PSG will win again in the next match.

I agree with you, they have been disappointing, and I wonder how they managed to be so bad while less than one week before they had beaten Manchester City 2-0 at home for the Champions League. I hope it was just because they were still exhausted by this tough meeting.

None of their shots were on target. Rennes defenders stopped all of the attempts of PSG strikers. The free kick shot of Messi bounced back by hitting the goal bar. Neymar and Mbappe missed easy opportunity to score. Their shots was far away from the goal post. It proves that they aren't playing as they should. Without having a perfect combination between the players no team can give you the expected result always. PSG need to improve their defensive section too.

Yeah, it was really terrible to see them struggling about even finding the target. When it comes to PSG's defense, they actually have really capable players. Now, their regular centre-backs are Marquinhos and Kimpembe. These defenders both are really strong actually. Sergio Ramos' injury is still lasting now. Maybe they can be a little better with him. But they still need to defend their opponents much better. Maybe they can solve this by transferring a star defender. Or maybe they need a better game plan for the defense part.
