Even without the presence of Kylian Mbappe, the current squad of Paris Saint Germaine will still remain the most star studded and expensive team in the whole of France and that's because the club owners have been very active in signing high profile players to the club for more than the last one decade. However, you we can't shy away from the the fact that Kylian Mbappe have easily been the club's overall player since he arrived the club. Kylian Mbappe is a big player that's capable of winning games on his own for the team so when he finally leaves the club, they'll definitely feel his absence no matter how much they try to replace him. Paris Saint Germaine will still continue to dominate the French league after Kylian Mbappe's exit but I think they'll need time to deliver great performances that they do deliver with the presence of the France international

Kylian Mbappe will be a player that Paris Saint German will miss greatly after he leaves the club. He has been the outstanding player in the team since he joined them and it has been like that year after year. His departure from the club will be felt by the whole team but with time, they’re going to fill the void he’s going to leave behind. No much changes will be witnessed in the club even after he leaves because they will still be the top team in the France league and will continue to dominate the league than any other clubs that are in the league. If you can see even in the matches he hasn’t played in, Paris Saint German still remains the best team and continue to win all of their matches they play in. The France league is just like the Bundesliga where only one team dominates it every year not until now that history wants to change in the Bundesliga and give the trophy to another team.

Maybe we'll see a more competitive Ligue 1 next season because the news about Kylian Mbappe's move is getting hotter, what do you think, will PSG still compete in the top 4 next season if Kylian Mbappe leaves PSG?
Mbappe's departure should not be a big problem, because they actually have a better quality team than other clubs, but their dependence on Mbappe is actually a problem for them. If Mbappe leaves then it is very likely that they will also bring in other quality players, especially since they have very good finances which means they can pay whatever players they want.

They should have prepared for this, I mean when they still have star players in their squad at the same time building a solid team. But unfortunately they didn't do that and only focused on a few players. For Mbappe alone, how much of their time did they spend trying to get Mbbape to stay with them, and in the end, Mbappe's decision to leave turned out to be something they couldn't stop anymore. If they used their time for something that could be their future, that would be very good. But once again they don't do that for their future.

PSG should be able to defeat a team at Clermont's level with the available player material. even though in reality, the coach, Luis Enrique, did not reduce his main players to become the starting eleven. however, it is understandable that Luis Enrique gave more opportunities to 17 year old young players who played on the wing and other young players who played as wing defenders. and as a result, PSG was unable to get full points even though in the second half the main players such as Mbappe and others were introduced. the match ended with a score of 1-1, despite the fact that Paris Saint-Germain fell behind first.

Fortunately, towards the end of the match, Mbappe provided an assist which Goncalo Ramos converted into an equalizer. and yeah, the match ended 1-1. and as we know, the result of this match has no influence at all on PSG's ranking in the Ligue 1 table. And as we all agree, Luis Enrique prioritizes the Champions League quarter-final match against Barcelona later. That's why several of PSG's core players were not the main starters in the match against Clermont. For Lique 1, PSG will not have any significant obstacles. but in the Champions League, PSG needs to concentrate to focus on overthrowing Barcelona. That's why some players save their energy.
PSG in the league are doing very greatly and in that match against Clermont, you would not expect PSG to be struggling as psg are far doing great as they’re clear even on point. In that match over the weekend, PSG rested most of her key players for the UCL game and you can see the difference im the second half

In the second half, we saw PSG having introduced her major players and you can see the difference in how they played just that they were only able to get a draw in that fixture and it’s not really bad especially as they’re very clear on being the league winners. Mbappe who’s about to leave keep increasing his numbers for the club as he was able to provide an assist that helped PSG get their draw.

In the league, I don’t think PSG will be having any difficulty of any sort as they’re in a better position in the league table and as such you can understand why the coach rested most of the club’s key players in this fixture. PSG main target is the ucl and as such they’re are doing everything possible to be able to get to the UCL semi final and probably the final. The club will have to prepare very well because Barcelona won’t be an easy opponent for PSG to face in this round of the competition. I’m very confident that PSG could get something but they’ve got to do more than the ordinary to be able to defeat Barca.
PSG basically has another same copy season as they always do. They will win Ligue one, and they will probably lose at UCL, and that's how they will end the season. This is why PSG fans are not that much mad about Mbappe leaving anymore, they used to believe that with him, they could maybe win UCL but looking at the team, it is obvious that they are not going to win the UCL with him neither, so why keep him?

He is not a change maker, he is not the difference maker, he is the guy who gets paid nearly hundred million a year and the team would get exactly the same result without him as with him, so why keep paying him? I feel like this Barcelona game was the last straw, of course it all depends on the second leg, if PSG wins and goes further, maybe things could change.
If the result had been a draw, PSG might not have been there, but it's natural to be under pressure when the result went in their favour. According to UCL rules, PSG must win the next match in order to advance to the next round, as well as reducing the goal difference to advance on goal difference. If PSG is already 1 goal behind then PSG must score one more goal against Barcelona in the next match and if Barcelona does not score then PSG must score two goals. Where they conceded three goals to go against Barcelona, conceding two goals without conceding any goals in the second leg is a very difficult task. In UCL tournaments, first leg matches are usually very important where PSG have been defeated.

Who would have thought that Lens would lose against a lowly team like Metz and they would have to go home without taking a point in this match. Of course the result is surprising and detrimental for Lens because their chances of winning are very big. However, Metz, who lost in a row in their previous three matches, wanted to give a different result, especially in front of their fans, so they couldn't afford to lose again and it all paid off by beating Lens.
Yes, even though Lens took the lead in the 13th minute, but who would have thought that Metz played so well that it made it difficult for Lens in that match and was able to equalize in the 33rd minute and at the end of the first half and the score was 2:1 ahead in the first half, making Metz winning until the end and bringing them the full 3 points, indeed this defeat was very detrimental for Lens because they were struggling in the European zone but Metz was very happy with this result, at least little by little they were able to shift their position from the red zone.
Everyone must have been surprised by the result of the match between Metz and Lens, it was indeed quite embarrassing even though in the early minutes Lens outperformed the match by entering the match in the 13th minute through Floriant Sotoca but Metz was able to restore the situation in the 34th minute and at the end of the first half it was 2-1, This is beyond the expectations of many analysts because Lens should be able to beat Metz if based on their current abilities and experience but it seems to have a different journey this week, it is quite unfortunate because Lens can lose to a team that is at the bottom of the standings with a score of 2-1, seen from Lens statistics in the second half to be very dominating and trying to equalize, But the results speak differently, the Metz squad shifted focus in the second half to use more defensive strategies to maintain their winning position until the end of the league, it can be seen that Lens' second half ball control was more because Metz players did not have much room to play nicely in the second half, but Metz's strategy worked until the second half was over, they maintained their victory and did not care what was thought because they also needed to win to get out of the relegation zone, if you look at them they still have a chance to fight out of the relegation zone and I think they did it for that.

PSG is always in doubt when appearing in the UCL so they are not favorites to win the UCL title because PSG has difficulty competing with the top teams there, PSG always dominates League 1 and always competes in the UCL but still they can't do much in the UCL they always get knocked out before reaching the final, even though PSG have good players but not enough to prove their strength in the UCL.
It's quite unfortunate to watch PSG lose first leg of the UCL quarter-finals to Barcelona on Parc des Princes stadium ground and have been huge blow on their faces. Luis Enrique should make more enquiries on beating their opponents and his former team. Pep Guardiola and Carlo Ancelotti understands how football operates and they've also made progress interms of their squad and substitution made available. The UEFA Champions League is among just two main clubs. They're Real Madrid and the defending champions, Manchester City. We know how fierce and strong these teams have dominated the UCL and have been consistent and promising in their matches.
This home loss hurts PSG more than usual. Huge hopes for this team, and Barcelona loss? They're struggling. The away leg will be harsh; Barca's fans support them. We know Champions League home advantage important. PSG shouldnt be dismissed yet. They must fix their defense and attack more aggressively.

Enrique must plan better next time. He must study Barcelona's style. Guardiola and Ancelotti modify things up for each opponent, finding weaknesses. Enrique must provide such information. PSG has talent, no doubt. They just need the perfect strategy to expose Barca. I support them, the team, and the fans. They deserve better.

Honestly PSG doesn't feel any pressure at all at Ligue one, the point difference is 10, so it is not like they would care. They could lose this game too and not care about it since it is not going to matter to them. I understand that it may feel like maybe a little different to some people, but that's just the way it is right now. I feel like the best way to go would be making sure that we are going to handle getting better one way or another, and we could probably see the situation change a lot more later on.

I hope that we could probably get a better result, but seems like it is not that easy. I get that it may not look amazing so far, but I believe that we are going to probably end up with a much better result eventually.

The title of Ligue 1 champion definitely belongs to PSG with a difference of 10 points, they, of the remaining 7 matches in Ligue 1 that they have only Nice which is most likely to be their obstacle, it could be that before the Nice - PSG match, PSG has already secured the Ligue 1 title for them.

Maybe we'll see a more competitive Ligue 1 next season because the news about Kylian Mbappe's move is getting hotter, what do you think, will PSG still compete in the top 4 next season if Kylian Mbappe leaves PSG?

That was unexpected from Lens to lose against the worst team in Ligue 1 after Clermont Foot..
Lens started the season horribly and now this defeat? The worst part is that they were leading by one goal for most part of the first half, in addition to not being able to score from some attacks.
They might not lose their position in the table this round but this will allow the other teams to get closer from them..
Unexpected result for Lens how possibility defeated by relegation zone teams Metz, get more difficult for Lens raise top fourth standings and repeat their achievement last season by qualifying to champion league. Leading one goals on the early minutes but Lens failed for defending the winning result and put their self will raise one spot for Europe League or champion league?
Metz has good capital for facing 5 matches left and try to defend in Ligue 1 competition next season, has too close points with Lorient, Nantes and Le Havre still has chance for Mets get out from relegation zone and get chance with relegation playoff round if fail moving up from relegation standings.

However, Metz, who lost in a row in their previous three matches, wanted to give a different result, especially in front of their fans, so they couldn't afford to lose again and it all paid off by beating Lens.

I think there are times when a weak team like Metz can win and this result revives their chances of quickly getting out of the relegation zone which is only 2 points away. Of course they have to win again next week and try to increase their chances of winning again. For Lens, they were stuck in 6th position and failed to displace Nice this week.
There are certainly quite a few who have lost money on this bet and I also felt that after betting on Lens. Grin

I don't see any surprise in this result. Maybe the mistake comes from the people who, when analyzing this game, looked at the position in which each of these two teams were in the table and ignored the other very important detail, I'm talking about this very important detail:

In the last 4 games, Lens only won 1 game and came from a sequence of 3 games without winning. and to make matters worse, before Lens played against Metz, they played against Le Havre in a game that ended in a draw. Looking at the position Le Havre is currently in, we see the following:

We see that Le Havre are close to Metz, there is not much difference with Metz. Both teams in the last 5 games did not perform well. this was already a strong indicator that Metz's game against Lens would be a very balanced game in which both teams had a great chance of winning the game and Metz did better and it shouldn't be a reason for much surprise, because in addition to Everything I said here shows a clear balance between these two teams, Metiz in the last 2 games before the game against Lens, managed to score at least 2 goals in each of the last two games they played and they were games against strong teams.

Metz 2 - 5 Monaco (match on March 30th)

stade brestois 4 - 3 Metz (game on April 7th)

Stade Brestois is currently the team that occupies second place in the table and even so Metz managed to score 3 goals, and see that this was Metz's last game before playing against Lens. So it was already clear that Metz had a good chance of winning the game against Lens

When Lens managed to win against a top team (brest) in Ligue 1 in the previous match, I thought Lens would have a great chance to reach the Champions League competition, but in fact after the victory their performance continued to deteriorate and never won in their last 4 matches including today against Metz, in terms of player quality and also today's chances were actually lens quite superior but unfortunately their chances of scoring a lot were wasted Aside from Metz's tight defence, for now Lens are moving further away from the Champions League zone and of course it will be very difficult for them to try to compete again with the teams above them.

At the moment to stay in rank 6 seems to be impossible also for Lens because after all Reims and Marseille are still too close to them, besides that Marseille still has 2 postponed matches that have not been played and of course their chances of taking position 6 as the last limit of the European competition zone are certainly very large, I think now it is time for us to no longer expect Lens to play in European competition next season because with 5 matches remaining It is very difficult for them to stay in the 6 standing position at the end of the season.

Shocking to see PSG lose on their home ground to Barcelona this season, I know Luis Enrique is doing his best but it's not good enough. We can either choose to support PSG or not but the most important thing is simply laying low for significant winnings. Paris Saint-Germain have always turn out to be one of the most overhyped team in the UEFA Champions League due to the big names in the club and at the end of the tournament, they're either eliminated earlier even before anyone would noticed. PSG will travel to Camp Nou to face Barcelona in the second leg.
That's why being the best in League 1 is still not enough for a team to compete in the Champions League and I still think it will be even more difficult for PSG to beat Barcelona at Camp Nou in the second leg of this season's Champions League. Because in the Champions League, every team must be able to use all its strength in order to win even though the team cannot win in its own domestic league like Barcelona. So I'm not really sure that PSG can qualify for the next round unless Barcelona is not lucky enough and plays badly in the second leg.
I think they need to withdraw to themselves and look for the problem inside. They are rushing way too much and because they rush, it is not happening and taking time. PSG never wanted to build a team slowly to become better and better to get the UCL afterwards, they always wanted to spend money on players that will help them get it right away, they just wanted to buy UCL cup basically, what happened? For nearly a decade now they are still not able to get it, and usually have terrible losses there.

This is why I believe that we should not consider this to be the norm, we should focus on what we could do and how we could improve. This is why we are going to end up with a result that is not going to be acceptable for them again.

Even though PSG lost the first leg against Barcelona, in reality they still have a chance to improve it in the second leg. Barcelona is 3-2 on aggregate from PSG to start the second leg, but it is not a good guarantee to expect Barcelona not to lose to PSG. As far as I know, PSG also played well in the first leg and they were just unlucky to score and prevent many goals throughout the game.

I actually don't want to see PSG qualify for the semi-finals compared to Barcelona, so I hope Barcelona will maintain their best form in the second leg and qualify for the semi-finals. Barcelona is better prepared for that than PSG, but we never know who will get the ticket in the end.

I think the match was a bit surprising, because Barcelona, in my opinion, was experiencing poor performance, but they were able to beat PSG, who were in good performance, with almost no defeats in every game, but even so, PSG still had a chance to win the leg. Secondly, I also think PSG can definitely beat Barcelona, because maybe with the results of their match against the player who lost they will evaluate their performance and improve it in the second leg.

with statistics from yesterday's match results, PSG is even more in control. but what you say is true, we never know who will get a ticket to qualify for the semifinals. I myself hope that PSG can qualify compared to Barcelona. However, Barcelona is an experienced team, so it is possible that PSG will have a little difficulty facing them.

It wasn't an expected result indeed. Lens are making an effort to qualify for a European tournament by finishing in top six. However their recent results got really bad. As of this 2-1 Metz loss they can't get a win for four weeks in the league. They are getting away from a top four chance at the same time as the gap with Lille has become six points as well.  Sad

The previous season was like a dream for Lens. They finished it at the second position and joined the Champions League. But last summer they lost some really important players in the squad and it looks like this has affected them quite negatively.

It looked like a trade between the two teams at least I think that this happens as I don't think it was a deserved victory on field. It is a known phenomena and this means that during the last stages of the seasons, different agreements between teams and this also are tracked in the management of the teams as "favors" that has been done and for example when Lens will need points or an advance in the league Cup,Metz next season if they happen to save themselves for this season they will return the "favor" to Lens when they will have the chance, that is why I never bet on such type of games, especially on the last weeks of the season.

Even if PSG could not win against Barcelona in the first leg, they should have at least drawn. PSG failed to draw against Barcelona, they failed to get a win, so in the second leg match, they will definitely be behind and under a lot of pressure to start the second leg. Since the second leg match will be played at Barcelona's home ground, I will definitely be betting on Barcelona in the second leg match.
we may need to think logically and I fully support your opinion because in the first leg PSG competed at home and actually felt less confident mentally, it was clear that they felt a little pressured because they didn't have much experience and in the second leg it was confirmed that Barcelona would be more comfortable to win a higher aggregate score takes advantage of opportunities when PSG play away from home and will experience difficulties in controlling the ball and that can be confirmed.
deciding to bet on Barcelona winning is a wise decision but consider the surprise that PSG could get if they are lucky enough to hold on to a draw and it ends in a penalty shootout.

but in terms of surprises, I'm not sure PSG will be able to hold Barcelona to a draw and for me Barcelona is guaranteed to qualify for the semi finals.

This is the fact that PSG always be dominate Ligue 1 without gets decent opponents and it just happend for almost every season and seems to gets Ligue 1 title is very easy for them this because there was no teams who can playing consistent compared to them and this season the teams such as Brest, Monaco or probably Lille only compete for Champion League spots but these teams were unable to compete with PSG for race title because they were lack of consistency compared to PSG

With 10 difference points above to Brest i am sure PSG in the comfortable position and mathematically PSG only required 3 wins remaining to lock first place and i think PSG has been focus to other competition just like Champion League now although it's hard because they had just lost from Barcelona in the first leg but there is any chances for PSG to beat Barcelona but indeed it will not be easy and Luis Enrique will hard struggling to realized it

PSG defeat should be solely put on Enrique because clearly, his starting squad shows that he was not ready to win the game. How did he expect to win against Barcelona when he left out Danilo, Emery, Barcola and even Ramos? Well, the line up choice was the first mistake and it is understandable but why would he keep players for so long when there were players on the bench to substitute? The likes of Mbappe, Ruiz Ascencio proved not to be good enough to play for the time they played.

Donnaruma was also part of the problem, in fact he made Barcelona to win the match. PSG wasn't perfect actually but goal keeper is also part of the team and he should play his own part to make the game great for the team but here, the goal keeper inaccuracy contributed to all the three goals. It's funny how there's excellent goal keeper on the bench but they keep starting him always. The return match at Camp Nou will be difficult if they choose to start him again.
