PSG should be able to defeat a team at Clermont's level with the available player material. even though in reality, the coach, Luis Enrique, did not reduce his main players to become the starting eleven. however, it is understandable that Luis Enrique gave more opportunities to 17 year old young players who played on the wing and other young players who played as wing defenders. and as a result, PSG was unable to get full points even though in the second half the main players such as Mbappe and others were introduced. the match ended with a score of 1-1, despite the fact that Paris Saint-Germain fell behind first.
Fortunately, towards the end of the match, Mbappe provided an assist which Goncalo Ramos converted into an equalizer. and yeah, the match ended 1-1. and as we know, the result of this match has no influence at all on PSG's ranking in the Ligue 1 table. And as we all agree, Luis Enrique prioritizes the Champions League quarter-final match against Barcelona later. That's why several of PSG's core players were not the main starters in the match against Clermont. For Lique 1, PSG will not have any significant obstacles. but in the Champions League, PSG needs to concentrate to focus on overthrowing Barcelona. That's why some players save their energy.
PSG in the league are doing very greatly and in that match against Clermont, you would not expect PSG to be struggling as psg are far doing great as they’re clear even on point. In that match over the weekend, PSG rested most of her key players for the UCL game and you can see the difference im the second half
In the second half, we saw PSG having introduced her major players and you can see the difference in how they played just that they were only able to get a draw in that fixture and it’s not really bad especially as they’re very clear on being the league winners. Mbappe who’s about to leave keep increasing his numbers for the club as he was able to provide an assist that helped PSG get their draw.
In the league, I don’t think PSG will be having any difficulty of any sort as they’re in a better position in the league table and as such you can understand why the coach rested most of the club’s key players in this fixture. PSG main target is the ucl and as such they’re are doing everything possible to be able to get to the UCL semi final and probably the final. The club will have to prepare very well because Barcelona won’t be an easy opponent for PSG to face in this round of the competition. I’m very confident that PSG could get something but they’ve got to do more than the ordinary to be able to defeat Barca.
PSG basically has another same copy season as they always do. They will win Ligue one, and they will probably lose at UCL, and that's how they will end the season. This is why PSG fans are not that much mad about Mbappe leaving anymore, they used to believe that with him, they could maybe win UCL but looking at the team, it is obvious that they are not going to win the UCL with him neither, so why keep him?
He is not a change maker, he is not the difference maker, he is the guy who gets paid nearly hundred million a year and the team would get exactly the same result without him as with him, so why keep paying him? I feel like this Barcelona game was the last straw, of course it all depends on the second leg, if PSG wins and goes further, maybe things could change.
