I do not understand what causes Lyon to be this bad, but it's definitely not something they should be proud of, it looks like they are doing quite terribly all year long and I am not really expecting them to do any better. Of course they could get a little better on the rankings a bit, but I think it's not really that easy to handle.I think it would be smarter if they ended up with something that should be a little bit fixing what's going wrong inside the club. Is it the ownership? Is it the management? The football director? The operations? The staff and the managers? Whatever is the thing that makes them this bad, they need to fix that first because they can't make the team better without figuring out what's wrong first.
Lyon and Lens are the two most surprising teams in this season. They definitely should have performed better compared to what they have done so far. Lyon is at the absolute bottom of the table without having a single win so far in this season. Lens is also not very far away from the relegation zone, to be honest. Lyon seems to be doomed for this season unless they somehow start performing well. And I really do not have any idea how they can do that. Lens still has hope in my opinion. After all, it has not been a long time since the season had started. Not even 10 matches have been played so far. So they still have a chance to improve their performance and actually get towards the top of the table.

The first half of the Clermont - Nice game was completely one-sided. I mean Clermont didn't even have a single goal attempt. Nice found a huge opportunity to score by a penalty. However Laborde missed the penalty and made things difficult for his team. There has been already a serious drop in his performance and this was just horrible.
He might not get his position in the starting eleven easily maybe from now on. Anyway despite Clermont's balancing the game in the second half Nice still scored a late winning goal to seal the deal by 1-0. By this win Nice are still maintaining the title of being the only team without a single defeat in the league this season.

Honestly, I can't say much about this team. As you said, last season Lens managed to finish in 2nd place in Ligue 1. This season, Fanck Haise's squad looks completely helpless. At the start of this competition, in the first 5 matches, Lens was unable to win even one match. although one of the matches ended in a draw. After playing a draw in the League against Sevilla, Lens seemed to have strong motivation with two wins in Ligue 1 against Toulouse and Strasbourg. after that, they surprised by overthrowing Arsenal on the second matchday with a score of 2-1.
After that, there were various positive reactions if Fanck Haise's team would return to its original track. Unfortunately, the three matches after that in two different events only resulted in draws. Don't be surprised if Lens has the potential to achieve bad results when they host Nantes this week. In fact, I'm not at all sure if Lenz has a chance of qualifying for the next phase in the Champions League group phase. However, Lens is now in 2nd place with 5 points. There is potential if Lens falls when they visit PSV's headquarters, Arsenal, and host Sevilla.
IMO, one of the things that caused this team to experience a decline and change in performance was when they released several important players in the transfer window last summer. As for the newcomers, they didn't live up to the coach's expectations. or maybe, if the system Heise implemented was not ideal with the players available. Now, Lens is in an unsafe situation. they are ranked 15th two points behind Clermont.
Werll I won't be suprise if they get a bad result this week cause they've already shocked me with their inconsistentcy this season, i expected them to be in the position of Nice fighting to taking away the title from PSG but they're not even close to top 10 and with the way they're going I doubt if they'll end qualify for conference league.

I will bet on Nice winning because this is clear and there is no doubt that Nice will win again. Currently Nice is in its best performance and they will continue to maintain this advantage so that the competing teams below them cannot overtake them easily. The rivalry with Monaco is certainly worth watching and I think these two teams will still be quite dominant at least in the middle of the season. Maybe Clermont has quite good capital after beating Lyon last week but in front of Nice that alone is not enough and they have to accept the fact that they will still be in the relegation zone this week.
