Well, I guess this thread is made to create more of an awareness to those who still plan to enter gambling, but for those who are already gambling addicts, surely this will only be ignored. The only thing/person that can save them is their own selves. If they won’t admit that they are finding it hard to manage their gambling addiction, the people around wouldn’t know that they’re badly needed help. However, for soon to be gamblers, never see gambling as another source of living. Instead, gamble to entertain yourself and find pleasure in it.

I think it is also about personal disposition when it comes to addictions. Or perhaps also about existing circumstances that you are in in a specific moment. Gambling responsibly could also mean to not gamble at all if you know that you are in a psychological deadlock for personal reasons. It is much like alcohol usually isn't a solution when you have huge problems to solve. Gambling is similar to that as you would probably do it to compensate for something else if you find yourself in trouble and decide to go for out. If it is for pleasure only, gambling responsibly just refers to the relative amount that you are putting on the line compared to what you own and need for your life to continue as usual.

That's true. However many gamblers are playing without having such mindset that they will only play to entertain themselves and it's fine even if they lose. Let's admit that nowadays many gamblers are playing because they have a desire to win, to double their money or hit a jackpot. Greedy to earn instantly and not thinking of the consequences for playing the money that they can't afford to lose, that's not how it should be.

If only gamblers (especially the newbies) were able to control themselves and have no high hopes of winning then it's more fun to gamble since you're playing mainly to entertain yourselves.

I agree, it is hard for a person to fix his thought when it is broken. He needs an external factor to fix it. For a gambling addict, it is a specialist to help them recover their control and make gambling addiction get fixed. the acceptance and support of the family also greatly help for the recovery of the gambling addiction patient.

True it is not bad to gamble and it is not bad to let our mind control our actions either (besides it is our mind that dictates what we will do) just don't let our gambling acitivities make us develop uncontrolled urge and got addicted to gambling. If you are someone who isnt really that good when it comes to self control or discipline then you would really be that prone to errors and mistakes which is something that we should really be avoiding
because if you arent aware on what you are doing or having that unbalanced mindset then you would really be get easily fall into gambling addiction which is something that we dont really like to happen.

Your words might be harsh for some but you're picturing the reality unfortunately, it's truly sad to see someone getting into a position that is involved stealing and scamming other people.

In the UK if you go into a betting shop and want to bet £400 the operator is forced to ask you several questions, if you want to bet more you might have to show your ID and answer more questions because they want to ensure you can afford what you wish to risk.

Whilst such regulations are annoyance for those who don't "need" them it seems like it's inevitable ... the future feels like is going to be more and more regulated.

just like how we live a life full of responsibility, gamblers must also be directed to be able to gamble responsibly such as knowing the time limit for gambling - not having debt for gambling when running out of capital - not committing crimes.

Yes mate you are right even me I heard some article like that but honestly here in my country not just Article but you can see or in the news and from my neighbor that some gamblers are scamming and even stealing some gadgets or money to have enough money so that they can gamble all along which is pretty bad for that habit. But we can not stop them it because they are a gambling addict which means they can not control themselves in order to avoid bad things happening in their lives.

You know sometimes gambling can be this funny to some extent that one looses control of him or herself as a result of excessive wins or excessive loss. When this happens, you see a gambler being desperate to either win back their loss or continue gambling to win more but at this point, there should be some self restrictions from your own self. Limit your betting at that moment so as to avoid unforseen circumstances.

Apparently, not a lot of people understand that, and they just think that they might be able to get some profit if they play with more money which is a completely wrong mindset to have about gambling. It is all about luck and nothing about having more or less, if you are lucky, you will get something with the lowest amount, and if it's the opposite of that, you are not gonna get anything no matter how much you put in.

A game of chance is a game where you just take your chances knowing that if it doesn't work, you are going home with nothing, and nothing means nothing, so if you are putting more than you can afford to lose on stake, you have probably already lost it.

Casino games are designed to make you lose on the long run, that's how they make money. That's a known fact and it has nothing to do with playing responsibly. Responsible gambling means that you shouldn't spend on gambling more than what you can afford to lose (as On pointed out) and it means you realize that you are spending your money to have fun not to make a fortune.
