You have to be careful trying to make things so black and white. There are legitimate forms of gambling out there which can become careers if someone has the determination, patience and skill in the right games. You'll see the same pros leading the big poker tournaments year after year, who beat off thousands of contenders each time while working their way to the last table. Those people are truly skilled, but there are very few people that can ever attain those heights. There are also scenarios where people are able to eek out an edge, although they are at the mercy of sportbooks that eventually ban them, in areas like horse racing and can be highly profitable with a honed strategy.

I don't think making a minimum bet is really enough to feel the excitement.  Maybe on slot machines where you're just trying to get the rush of getting to a bonus round of some kind.  I think for me personally though, I need to at least have a couple dollars on the line.  I'd like to know at the very least that if I win a bet while I'm watching a game, my burger is going to be paid for.  Although I do get a certain level of enjoyment out of betting a few cents on a 26 leg parlay and hoping to make a million dollars.

Are you happy to do it with the minimum bet possible? Is there any satisfaction that you get? Sorry this is just my personal view, if I place a very minimal bet maybe I will look for a casino site that provides free games, it is better to have fun by triggering a little adrenaline, there is no defeat and victory there is no art to be gained and vice versa

hahaha, well looking at it in a clear sense gambling is really for winning like majority of gamblers plays with the mindset they will win but the reason why it is considered as a kinda fun is just so that people will not look at it as a means of business or income since the risk of losing is always higher than winning. Sometimes i do also have that thought if we should really lose money just to have fun when we can literally take other things that won't cause us pain as a means of having fun because no matter how we pretend to gamble for fun but there is this feelings of disappointment when we gamble and lose. However, what ever thing we stake our money is literally because we want to make profits from it and not for fun, some people go extreme to gamble like someone who uses his house to stake a bet do you expect such person to call it fun if he losses even if he owns other houses, gambling is a mean game because it's either you succeed to get the bag or you let the bag, two things are definitely involved.

Everyone has their own  perspective of what they think of gambling, well for me I gamble with really low stakes and often times, I gamble on games with 2 odds or more depending on the selection available. There is a betting platform where you can actually gamble with as low as $0.001 on a bet by actually converting your call card into liquid  funds. I usually  use that platform to gamble for a longer duration on time and playing the best of their casino games. So for me yes, gambling for fun really  exists, no one has to fake it, you just need the right mindset, and gamble responsibly without expecting much from the platform, knowing  fully well that all bets depends on luck to be won or loss.

Gambling has different meanings entirely and different perspective on how everyone See's it too, you can decide to take it as a source of income while another person it's seeing it as fun, another person too is seeing it in another way but necessary gambling is far beyond that and every gambler should understand that as well,and when you want to get on with that you should take note of your dealings,Basically the two aspects is okay for me but have a trace of your gambling habits in order to be far from addiction. Gambling for fun it's better of cause you don't have to chase losses and all that but when you see it as a way of making money, you chase losses, take huge risks to keep up gambling activities and definitely addiction comes in.

People always claim to do things that they are not doing just to look good in the eyes of the public. I have always said that I gamble mostly for fun but that does not stop me from gambling for money when I see the opportunity. There could be a game that I know that the chances of making money is high because of the odds so I just go for it without thinking of I could lose the money. Right there is me gambling to make money and it pays off at times but other times, I lose but it does not affect me because I knew what my options were before I decided to place the bet. Another thing is to use money that you can afford to lose when gambling and not going to overbet because of greed. Most gamblers are guilty of this behaviour and this make them to keep losing more than they can afford to lose from gambling.

Enjoying the game we play is certainly part of the fun we get and this of course only applies to those who have funds that they can afford to risk and do not make them emotional when they do not win their bets, but for those who use the last funds of course they hope to get lucky to win their bets and it is possible that they in betting become emotional and uncontrollable in placing bets.
When you choose to bet according to instinct, of course, you will be able to enjoy the bets you are playing, but still it takes luck to win the bet and bet in a state of emotion, of course, it will be difficult for us to place bets correctly and it will certainly be difficult to be able to win the bet.

No one gambles for fun and money plays a major role in gambling. However, there is a big difference in the purpose of earning money. If there was no money in gambling no one would gamble it is true as one can say that everyone gambles for money. But there are many who only care about their income from gambling. They want to increase their income through gambling. There are also many who spend their free time enjoying the thrill of winning and losing. I find a wide difference between these person. If gambling is considered as fun for a person who is experiencing a little time through money then I think there is nothing wrong. I will take such type of gambling as fun.

It is very hard for gamblers to make up their minds to only gamble for fun and not for money. If they only need fun then there are so many computer games where they can get better entertainment with no loss of money. The essence of gambling is to risk money in order to loss or gain money. It’s always important to set limits and focus on the entertainment aspect. If you have a balanced approach to gambling, then even a loss won't take the fun mood. In the last, I will suggest to everyone that we should enjoy it as a game rather than a way to make money might help keep it fun but i am not sure how gamblers understand to agree to it.

 I won't even agree that there is anything like gambling for fun, anybody gambling today is definitely in for the money. Sometimes will have enough of money and will just wnat to gamble it not for fun though but your emotions toward the game won't be that high, like even when the ticket should lost you won't feel souch pained because you have funds with you unlike when you have minimal funds or when you are using your last money to gamble it comes with alot of tension and high emotions. I feel that is just the difference but either when you gamble you gamble for the money and not for fun.

But the things is when you gamble without tension you pick your games freely and get to follow your instinct without any doubt so there is a high chance of you winning, but when you gamble with mixed emotions then there is a high chance of you losing. So I still don't believe people gamble for fun but rather you gamble without tension or mixed emotions.

I think it's quite simple to say that if gambling is a place to make money or a get rich quick scheme then surely there have been many gamblers in the past who have succeeded in achieving wealth in their lives? I think so, but I have never heard that the richest person in the world is a gambler.

Basically yes of course gambling can give us money even in very large amounts, but it is a fact that it will only happen once in dozens of attempts, so even if you for example succeed in winning an amount that you think is large then don't be happy yet, calculate all the amounts that you have sacrificed in each attempt before you managed to win, usually the amount is greater than the amount of winnings you have managed to get now.

One thing that is the biggest reason why gambling is always recommended as a place of entertainment rather than a place to earn is because there is absolutely no element of consistency to always be able to produce victory in every attempt, and we must also know and understand the fact that there are no significant results or consistency in achieving something big with just a little effort, and this is why many people suggest using common sense and your rational point of view every time you find something, because when you know and understand what you are facing then you will avoid misunderstandings.

There are two school of thought and I am happened to be the school of thought that gambling is not for fun but to win money. Just like someone said yesterday if gambling is for fun why can't the person or the gambler didn't use the free gambling sites or casinos to gamble for fun because there you don't use money to gamble and that is for fun. Because nobody can come and tell me that a gambler used $400 to play gamble and it is for fun. If he likes to lavish and throw away money like that then it is good to give out to the needs who are moving about the street looking for the daily bread. Those who use money to gamble. It is no longer a fun but they are looking for profit. I want to ask the Op if the gambler whom you said playing for fun wins, won't he withdraw the money?

Like today I played draft game with a friend and we and didn't use money so we were having fun. And anyone who loss laughed at the other person. And we challenge ourselves to play next time. Yes this has been deliberate here for many times but it seen that everyone has their own opinion and understanding. Therefore let the two theories exist. Those who play with money are for profit making and it is their income. While those who didn't use money are for fun. That is mine.

I am starting to change my mind about our involvement in gambling, for me gambling contains all the elements, having fun, making money, entertainment, hobbies and spending money.

Gambling is a site or gaming place, where people come to a casino or create an account on an online gambling site with only two choices of loss and profit, regardless of whether they come for fun or other reasons, the point is: gambling can bring positive and negative things to its users whatever their words and reasons.

So anyone who thinks gambling is a game, you don't have much reason to say, come and play, win or lose, there are only two options for those who gamble, regardless of what is said.

I'm of the opinion that gambling should be played with the mindset of having fun so it wouldn't become an obsession or addiction but come on, this is 2024 everyone's thinking of how to make money even the rich gamblers stake with an expectation of winning something. If gambling was designed to take money from it's users how would you think of making it a source of entertainment? Some people claim to gamble for fun but always end up losing extremely high amounts of money, where's the fun in losing? There will always be both of these sides. Someone who will gamble just literally for the sake of having fun and won't mind to bear with the losses.

And there goes someone who's trying out to have fun but at the same time trying to make some money. I guess most of us are in the latter.

As we gamble, win or lose, we're trying to make some for ourselves. But if the worse part comes, we won't be bothered losing it as we can accept it easily that we've lost.

To be honest the title said it all  Gambling for fun and not a way of making money I do believe there is a person who literally do gamble because he is bored or something that doesn't really care about money and he do gambling just for pure entertainment to fill his activity. I mean most of the people who do gamble to trying their luck and nothing wrong with it.

I saw yesterday that has similar thread and ask is there a possibility making money from gambling and my answer would be still the same, the answer is yes if you a casino owner or you are super lucky guy on earth and have winning rate of 80% all the time and if so you can making money from it haha

The whole point is that people need to constantly develop, think about their future, and not hope that some kind of roulette will feed them for the rest of their lives. This simply doesn't happen. We need to be self-sufficient and have skills that other people don’t have, we need to invest in my self-development.
When I watch videos about gambling addicts who believed that the casino would become their main source of income, it makes me laugh. This is so naive that it reminds me of a fairy tale where the main character thought he had found the Cornucopia.
But there are no miracles in life.

It is easily predictable that gambling can be accepted as fun by how many gamblers choose gambling for winning. Most gamblers think that if you think of gambling as a source of income, life will be changed, but they don't think that if you give extra time to gambling, life will become miserable instead of life change.
When most inexperienced gamblers are betting on gambling early, they become so greedy when they get profit in the bet that the next gambling is taken as one of the main sources of income. I never support these new gamblers who accept gamblers as sources of income. All these gamblers benefited early but later suffered huge losses.

I agree with you and believe that gambling really should not be considered as entertainment because of the high risk of addiction. Especially newcomers often have a false sense of control and euphoria from their first winnings, which makes them more vulnerable to developing gambling addiction. Responsible gambling requires clear limits on time and money. However, newcomers usually find it difficult to adhere to these rules, which makes them particularly vulnerable to gambling addiction.
