You know that sometimes, even if a gambler's intention is just for fun, they still can't help but win well when they are also struck by luck in the casino where they choose to gamble. So, it means that when luck hits them, they can still take home a winning prize, even if it is not that big of a win.

well to be fair there are professional gamblers that make money off it but as their profession mentioned already they are professional they know the ins and outs of gambling game that they are committed to and also know how to manage emotions and money. they know when to stop and when to game, but fair number of them also either went bankrupt or become millionaire its a game of odds after all, the chance of failing is always there as well as the chance of success, speaking philosophically, what are there activities that tries to gain more money that don't involve risk of losing money I think there are none.

Well, the idea of gambling should be that way how you describe gambling is. However, as people learned that gambling may give you a little more of a reward for the money you spent with gambling, and so people starts to go beyond on what's supposed to be budgeted for gambling for "fun".
Now, this is where the fun will get replaced as second to making money and this is where addiction begins as well if one is not being careful on how we deal with our gambling urges and needs.
We can't deny that most of us is either gamble to have fun and make money or make money as first priority while having fun.

Well, that's not my case, because playing poker is a side hustle for me, and the fun part is less and less as the years go by. It is entertaining, but it has become a routine for me. Gamblers should learn to honest with themselves, if you observe that you attach much emotions in it, and it makes you spend more, you simply quit as its not for you.
