Hahaha! The first time I saw a thread title like that, I found it very interesting. A title can provide half of the information about the story. Well, yeah, it's true that gambling is a shortcut way to become poor. Many people use the phrase that gambling is a way to success, but you changed it for the users, and I think this title will help them clearly understand the side effects of gambling. I am not saying that gambling is fraudulent or a scam, and that you will never earn from it. There are many successful gamblers who have shared their stories, but they are very few in number. The reason is that gambling requires a sharp mind and good luck; if either of these is not present, then you will lose. You will then put in extra money to recover that loss, but you will again fail. That's how you can fall into a trap and gradually move toward debt and poverty.

With gambling gaining awareness each day and the population of those gambling increasing it's calls for concern as many has fallen victim to this money sucking game that makes people not to save their money but loss it.
But let's take a critical look at this very sensitive matter called gambling has anyone really made it from gambling, is gambling worth it and if really anyone has made it through gambling can he/she proudly tell the younger ones that gambling is what going into.
Infact gambling has made many to go broke and live in poverty many has lost their life savings and even pension in gambling, I am of the view that gambling should be controlled by the government of each country and that there should be a maximum amount of money one should use in gambling.

Government has nothing to do about controlling the society about gambling, as long as there's a compliance of tax towards to internal revenue of the community it won't be removed from the usual system. The wrong mindset of the people that this shortcut to poverty would bring good unto them would literally became a misconception for innocent individuals. The more they became slave of gambling, lives tends to become more miserable than those who didn't engaged themselves on gambling.

I just see that whether from the perspective of fun or from the perspective of irresponsibility, gambling is still a whetstone, grinding straight into the economy, although the perspective of fun can slow down this whetstone a bit, but as long as this perspective goes along with time, assets will also flow and wear away without any way to hold back. Poverty is about how we pour money into something and don't get bigger benefits in return, gambling is a powerful fuel that burns the processes to make poverty come faster
maybe what you said is true. because when you gamble excessively, even if it is for fun, it can erode your economy.
you also know that most poor people also gamble. they clearly do not want pleasure in gambling. but the winnings from the bets they make with the small money they use.
the negative impact of gambling is indeed quite large for irresponsible gamblers. including for reasons of their pleasure. when gamblers have done something excessive and beyond their capabilities, the results are bad.

It is clear that anything that seems excessive will always be bad and usually often these actions occur because of emotions that influence and I would say that one thing that can keep us away from emotions is to treat gambling with the right approach or according to your abilities, such as only betting with small amounts.

It has been proven to be able to keep a gambler away from emotions especially when they experience defeat, on the other hand many people say that controlling oneself and emotions is very difficult, that is true, but what we have to think about here is not treating the disease but rather overcoming something that triggers it where as I said above that if you don't want to get caught up in emotions then there is no other way than not treating gambling beyond your abilities.

Well said, if you are using spare money an amount that you can let go for sure it's different compared to how you feel when you are using decent amount as you'll keep trying to recover until you realize that there's nothing more left on you,  where if you are using small amount you are treating it as for killing some time and there's nothing to create an emotion that will lead you to keep adding more, if you lose then you quit and bring the entertainment, if you win, then treat it as bonus after enjoying.

Of course, and besides betting with an amount of money that exceeds your actual ability will really not make you feel comfortable in running the session, because the name of the worry about losing is certainly something that will continue to haunt your mind, and we must also understand that the amount of money you bet does not affect the results in the game and the following is also with the hope or expectation of victory also does not affect the results in the game, so of course I think logically it is not realistic to make gambling a place to pursue victory.

So this is what makes some gamblers prefer to treat gambling with minimal action, because there will be no pressure that they feel and defeat will not be the result that makes them hit and when they win then of course it will also be exciting, I think you just have to choose it.

I am of the view that gambling should be controlled by the government of each country and that there should be a maximum amount of money one should use in gambling.

There are countries that prohibit their citizens from gambling, and I really admire this move. Gambling can lead people to poverty if they lack discipline and gamble excessively. While you might win one day, you will likely lose on another—that’s the cycle of gambling. Some wealthy individuals may view it as a leisure activity, but I don’t believe gambling is purely for fun, as losing money is never enjoyable.
In countries that prohibit gambling, there will be individuals who want to take advantage of gambling to stay in the country, and these individuals usually give permission, even state officials play there to gain profit from gambling places. Even if there are countries that legalize gambling, it is only for tax purposes for the government, they cannot fully control gambling because in essence the one who controls gambling is the gambler himself.

Therefore, it is very important in gambling to have good emotional control so as not to experience major losses or even bankruptcy. In gambling there are actually two points of view, if they gamble irresponsibly they will say gambling is a shortcut to bankruptcy. However, if gamblers gamble responsibly, their point of view will be different, gambling is just for entertainment and for fun, although the jackpot is just a bonus from the results of their entertainment. In essence, gambling can have negative or positive impacts depending on each individual, and do not expect gambling to be managed by the government because it is not their domain.
But unfortunately some countries that prohibit their citizens from gambling cannot really have powerful effort to suppress and stop every gambling activity carried out by their citizens secretly, the prohibition is only series of written words, there is no real effort to be able to regulate it with certainty.

Whatever the results when it has bad impact, it is actually the fault of the people themselves who cannot have the right approach and cannot control themselves in using money and time, all of this can only be stopped and truly suppressed when there is awareness from each individual.
Indeed, every gambler with rich and poor background must be different in terms of responding to and accepting every result of gambling, but at least when someone can accept defeat, they don't think about spending more money and will not consider it deep disappointment even though you are right that losing money is not fun thing.
People will not stop their gambling activity especially for those who often play gambling. They still think that gambling can give them money so that is why they will return to casino and hope this day they can win some money to bring it to their home. The government needs to educate their citizens and open their eyes about the reality of playing gambling that can makes them bankrupt anytime.

The citizens needs to start to think that gambling is not a good solution to make money instead just lose their money. They must search for the other ways that they can use to earn money without  losing their money in the gambling table. They should not use gambling as a way of source of income instead just to use it to spend their time and have fun.
Agreed, But in one cause I don't think governments will do anything like this where common people will refrain from gambling. Because currently governments get high revenue from gambling platforms. They will never want to remove their financial losses and gambling platforms have created many jobs which would be difficult for the government close down.

To think gambling as a source of poverty alleviation is completely foolish. If a person has to be financially solvent then he must find a platform where a person can earn a certain amount of money in return for hard work. May be it is a job or a business but if one thinks of earning money from gambling it is definitely a wrong decision which will rather drag him into poverty. Gambling should be considered as a temporary pleasure so that even if a gambler loses, he will not suffer any major loss.

truth is that gambling goes above trying to double your money on a bet just because you want to go out of poverty. It's a broad world of it own but the bad thing is that some people would rather want to remain lazy and gamble with the hope that in some way, they will get to win an amount that will liberate them from poverty.

Gambling educate you on what's happening in the world of sports and exposes you to different part of the world. It unites the community of gamblers like what's happening in this space and helps them share ideas together and learn best gambling strategies together which helpes them to become better gambling. It's only those who are lazy and are not ready to work that are depending on gambling for most of thier needs instead of just gambling for the fun of it and whatever slight financial benefit that comes with it.

Yes, there's possibility that one can be very lucky and have a huge win which they can just use the money for a very important stuff after winning but I guess that such luck is rare. For example, I have a game that I staked on last week Sunday, it's an accumulation of 40 matches which gave me about 1.5k odds and I used $1 to stake on that game which gave a potential win of $65k. About 9 games have already played as predicted and the rest of the 31 games will happen in the coming week. If luck runs perfectly and all that game go as predicted, then I will win a huge amount but it's rare for such luck to happen.
It's true what you said, of course someone who can get a big win in gambling is very rare, even I sometimes see many videos circulating with those who always get big wins, I always think that it's a fake win, even though whether it's true or not I don't care because there's no benefit for me either even though the person who got the win gave a pattern or trick but I doubt it can make me get the same win.
If luck is on my side, I think just by betting once we can get a big win, but because luck is rarely on our side, it's very rare for a big win to happen. Besides that, I think gambling is not a shortcut to poverty, but our own actions lead us to poverty or bankruptcy.
You are right with most parts of your comment, specially with what you said in the end, which is that, our own actions lead us to poverty and bankruptcy, I love this statement to be honest, because in the end of the day, there are people who gamble, return home and continue their normal life, and may never return to gamble again until further notices, usually several weeks later. While there are other people who almost sleep and wake up in a casino house each and everyday - our actions indeed is what either lead us to becoming rich, becoming poor and rekt for life..

And let me also use this opportunity to let you know that it's actually possible to win huge from gambling, I would be doubting like you if I have not witness3d or seen someone who won over $100,000 from a lottery here in my country.
Winning good amount of money is very possible in gambling, but then, it solely depends on individual luck, and it's also possible that there are many who may likely gamble for several years and never win any amount of money that is significant.

Of course, it will always be the fault of the people who thought that gambling is the way out, because there have been also success stories that gamblers won big and then they turn their life around. On the other hand, there are also horror stories. So every man would want or at least attempt to also change the course of their life by betting and see if they are going to be the next lucky one to become a millionaire.
There is many sad stories about people who lose their money from gambling but that doesn't makes other people understand that they don't have to playing gambling too often. They feels that they will not get the same thing as that people and think that they can be careful when playing gambling.

When they start to lose the money, they are not consider that gambling is not a way to make money but they think that they still have a chance to win in the next gambling time. So that makes them difficult to realize that they are making a mistake and needs to stop their gambling habit. They must understand that gambling will not resolve the poverty problem but will add more problem to that people.

So in this matter, educating those people will be needed immediately so they can understand and slowly reduce their gambling time.

Yup, it's a gambler perspective in terms of controlling their participation knowing that gambling is more on risk and without good control you'll find yourself empty-handed to the point that it will ruined your finances, though, like you mentioned there are some who manage being lucky and change the direction of thier lifestyle but ain't that many compared from those who loses their finances and turned to poverty because of being out  of control with the money that they spent for gambling.

With gambling gaining awareness each day and the population of those gambling increasing it's calls for concern as many has fallen victim to this money sucking game that makes people not to save their money but loss it.
Gambling has been a trap for careless people from time immemorial, funny enough gambling didn't start recently, it's as old as Man and only got rebranded and much easily accessible by it's digitalization and worsened by the arrival of VPN which gives everyone, both major, minor and even people in disallowed countries a sense of inclusion in it. Gambling education has done little to sensitize people on the dangers of gambling addiction and viewing gambling activities as a source of income. People lose more than they win and most people have resorted to gambling because of loneliness, depression, and even hopelessness and it doesn't waste time to suck up their finances, leaving them in a worse state than it met them.

Some people, even those I know on a personal level have made lots of money in gambling, a whole lot, but the thing is that most of these guys still lose it back to gambling and only a few actually gets useful with the funds. Lots of money is melted, but people never learn from the mistake of others and ends up repeating the same mistakes.

The UK government is currently implementing such laws tho protect it's citizens from the excesses of gambling like demanding from gambling companies some substantial amount in the rehabilitation of gambling addicts, directing them to control deposits from users and fining the casinos when they allow people waste much funds in gambling therefore making the casinos responsible for protecting people at risk.

Gambling is not my thing, is it yours? It can never take someone to the heightened point because it's volatile and the profits running in will definitely smashed out as losses. We just have to understand the basis of the system.

Gambling is good and also bad, it all depends on the purpose it serves for you. Gambling activities should be regulated because the vast majority now have absolutely nothing to do other than settling for gambling, leading to gambling addicts, these set of people are desperate, they even go as far as selling their private properties just to raise money for gambling. I know it's not easy controlling them but one have to raise discipline above all other needs, one needs to stand upright with his dealings in the system that's been designated to lyre people into losing major assets.

I bet that many of us have thought to become real life gamblers and become rich someday. Because I am one of the people that have thought that it can be an easy path to make myself one of the riches through gambling.

But that's just a gambler's fallacy that keeps on cycling in our minds when we're so close to reaching those wins.
Yes, and no as well.

Yes, in the sense that in the past, I want to make money through gambling and it's my main priority. No because over time, as I spend more time in gambling section here in this forum, I realized that it isn't money that's the main priority when it comes through gambling but being entertained. Yes, the money is there no doubt, but if you're gambling for money, you will spend more money especially if you lose.

Being rich in gambling isn't impossible, but the road to it is very hard, and you need a lot of money and luck of course in order to do it... or just luck is enough. Cheesy

All gambling platforms are government authorized
Not all.

The newly established that are testing the waters aren't authorized or recognized by the government so, mostly don't apply for licenses until they become popular and when the urge is needed for them to apply for one.
I agree with this.

Another problem is that many unauthorized gambling platforms are being promoted on various social media platforms. I mean just in our country alone, we've seen some online gambling platforms that are unauthorized and yet, they're being advertised by these popular influencers. Sadly, our government works really slow with regards to this problem, and as soon as they make a move, many already lost their money by trying on that website.

I don't deny this, it is the fact. However, it is because many people don't understand how to gamble in the right way. They also have the wrong mindset about gambling. Most people assume gambling is the right way to be rich in a short time, so they spend all their money to try luck in gambling. They don't know what gambling is, they don't view it as an entertainment only. This wrong mindset leads to severe losses.

I am of the view that gambling should be controlled by the government of each country and that there should be a maximum amount of money one should use in gambling.
I think government controls gambling in every country. There is strict regulation about gambling in any country in the world. Unfortunately, there are still many people who don't follow the rules. Even, there are many too young gamblers. This also contributes to the increase of addiction cases.
