With gambling gaining awareness each day and the population of those gambling increasing it's calls for concern as many has fallen victim to this money sucking game that makes people not to save their money but loss it.
But let's take a critical look at this very sensitive matter called gambling has anyone really made it from gambling, is gambling worth it and if really anyone has made it through gambling can he/she proudly tell the younger ones that gambling is what going into.
Infact gambling has made many to go broke and live in poverty many has lost their life savings and even pension in gambling, I am of the view that gambling should be controlled by the government of each country and that there should be a maximum amount of money one should use in gambling.

Gambling isn't a short cut to poverty but if you gamble recklessly, you will be poor if you are having a means of living and if you are poor, you will become homeless. However, if you play well, responsibly with good stake/wager and there is luck on your side, you will become rich person if you are an average living person because your stake power might be reasonable and if you are poor, you can become someone with money to take care of yourself.

Gambling is gambling which means probability, nothing is guaranteed in it, it's the way you can become a poor person is the same way you can become a rich person but this depend on the approach you use to play it and how lucky you are in gambling, you need skills but luck is what help the most. Also, if you are not addicted to gambling, it's another way not to become a poor person as a result of inappropriate gambling.

I love this topic, this topic makes real sense but most gamblers start gambling with the mindset of becoming rich off their gambling. But the truth is, 99 percent of gamblers with this mindset often turn out in regrets because gamble is not a rich quick scheme. All wining depends on luck, so we are not the determinant of the outcome, no matter how much of time and effort  we put in, in making the prediction it will still turn out to be what it wants to be. The best option is to accept this fact and gamble responsibly because  you'll  not get restricted even while you're on losing strike.
Yes you are right.
If gambling is a get rich quick scheme many casino will not be here today. Gamble is a try your luck kind of thing, and we can not force luck to come when we are on a losing streak. However, gamble is actually for fun but one needs luck to win. The opportunity of winning big with little or big money is very rear, so far as winning is rear and you need luck to win a bet, it means one can not achieve that without luck.
Quote
Besides gambling  shouldn't  be considered as a job opportunity but rather as a means of fun or making little extra cash.
Even though you think that gamble is a means of making little extra cash, you are also getting it wrong. Play bets with the mindset of not hoping for any profits from it, but if you were opportuned with little winning appreciate it and do not hustle for more.

That’s often because those gamblers often have unrealistic expectations from gambling. They often hope to just delve into gambling and suddenly attain financial freedom without realizing that the harsh reality of gambling is that, it can never be a stable and reliable way to make money as it’s impossible to accurately predict the outcome of the games.

Just as you vividly pointed out, winning in gambling isn’t in anyways dependent on the skill of the gambler but luck and chances too, which often renders our skills and experiences futile. If not well controlled, the unpredictability of gambling could have devastating effects on the gambler, thereby leading to financial strain and sometimes regret.

Indeed, as most of those people after losing their control they've messed up completely, at once they just treating gambling as part of their entertainment ans socialization but after losing a lot, chances that the emotions will be mixed up more on being aggressive as they knew they've got a lot of money to spare, not realizing that gambling is too risky and if you failed to control your emotions even how deep is your bankroll you'll be ended up empty-handed.
You’re absolutely correct.
A gambler can actually start gambling with intentions of just having fun, entertainment and socialization only for things to spiral out of control, resulting to devastating consequences.

When Gamblers who have substantial financial resources starts to experience losses while gambling, it can easily affect their emotions, which has a very high possibility of shifting their emotions from excitement and fun to frustration and tension and even anxiety. And when this happens, they are no more gambling for fun, which can easily result to loss chasing and ignoring the risks associated with such attitude towards gambling.
On the moment that you do make gambling as form of entertainment then there's no way that you would really be that be getting addicted into it not unless if you would really be that having those changes from
having fun to making money kind of intent on which this is where gamblers do usually be ending up. Situations will really be basing up on how well you would be handling yourself into this kind of activity.
If you are really that still have a good management towards your finances then there would really be no issue.

Gambling will really be indeed the short cut to poverty on which on the moment that you would really be spending up your money on gambling like a mad man then sooner or later you will really be finding out yourself on sleeping on the streets just because you have spend up on the money on which is really that intended for other prioritier or other important things. On the moment that you would really be finding yourself having some issues on controlling your emotions towards gambling then it will really be better that you should be taking away from it.

Just like the rest been saying that gambling isnt really that bad as long you do find yourself that being responsible towards your actions then it will really be just that really fine.

I have watched documentaries on YouTube during this period of people who used to be rich and suddenly became poor because of an addiction to gambling because they misused
their passion for gambling.

The others I watched used to have businesses, many luxuries in the body, a nice car because of gambling, they lost all of that until one day they noticed that
it was hard to get rid of them in the end.
I guess there’s really no limit to what gambling addiction is capable of doing to a person, regardless of their financial status. The moment a gambler allows their passion for gambling to control them, it changes a lot in them, from their attitude towards financial matters to their behavior towards people around them. To an extent it may even begin to stir up anger and aggression as well and if not controlled or tackled could affect the victim’s relationship with people around him, that includes his families and the society at large.

There are many day laborers who come to me for advice on gambling and they think that if I give them a gambling account, they will have a lot of money in a short period of time. And sometimes they tell me I don't want their good when they see that I don't give them a betting account for their own good. I know their decision-making power and their condition will put their entire family in danger if they become addicted to gambling.
The thing is that players don't want to listen to you until they understand it themselves, being alone with their thoughts or having sunk to the very bottom. I remember myself when I started playing a long time ago and after losing I understood all this. That it would be better to develop in the professional sphere in order to earn money without playing, and the game is just something that can diversify my free time for pleasure, only with small stakes. I think this is excellent advice for many players, after all, they should understand that not all players will be able to earn money just by playing every day and throughout their lives. The game was not invented for these purposes, it's a pity that many do not want to believe it.

Advice on gambling always fall on deaf ears -- intending gamblers want to see the results and outcomes themselves, and the lucky ones learn, while the others end up in a pit of hard luck and regrets. Recently, neighbors, friends and even loved ones are venturing into gaming. And nothing special go through my mind as an advice, because they'll think their motives and vision are better than whatever I'd have to contribute.

It's always fine to guide them in times of losses and teach the person limitation and responsible gambling, but their response that claim awareness of gambling risk leaves me with no option than to exit the conversation. Afterwards, they end up becoming victims, and realize that gaming is not always as planned or visioned.

I know their decision-making power and their condition will put their entire family in danger if they become addicted to gambling. I have always tried to explain that one should forget the idea of making money in a shortcut way and move one's career further up the scale based on one's skills. Gambling should never be considered a shortcut scheme to get rich. Gambling can be done with the rest of one's money, which if lost from one's life will not affect oneself financially.

No gambler will use from the experience of others to learn that gambling is not to make profit, until they become a victim themselves. One thing that make people get carried away with a profit making mindset is that, they might have seen or heard of few people that won big in gambling, and that will make them feel that the casino is a place to make a fortune. They forget to realize that casinos are out for business, which is to take money from you by entertaining you with their games and in return, you pay for your gamble through your bet, that is likely going to be a loss. Greed and laziness can make you think that gambling is a way to riches, whereas, it is the opposite.

One thing is certain with gambling, you will have rest of mind if your income is coming from a sure source, even if you lose money in gambling you can always get back on your feet, rich people don't have this crazy problem of losing everything and going broke, it is always those who are in work to progress stage that ends up running themselves.
You’re right. And this often make people see rich people as people who don’t suffer from irresponsible gambling and addiction. Although what’s common among rich and poor addicted gamblers is the fact that they can both gamble themselves into debt, but the difference is that, since rich gamblers already have a sure income source, they can easily pay off their debts, which of course isn’t the case with poor gamblers.

I think the title says it all, gambling is the road to poverty and I admit that too because after all, although rich people can gamble all they want but in fact, there are also many cases when rich people go bankrupt because they lost gambling in a short period of time. Therefore, I think the title of this thread is not wrong at all but indeed, rich people at least will not be stressed if they only lose a few dollars but still, if rich people experience bankruptcy then they can also experience stress and depression. With that said, it would certainly be nice to gamble just for fun and just to pass the time with money that is ready to lose. Thus, at least we will be able to avoid depression because if we get depressed due to losing in gambling it will make our social life also bad.

Of course, because everything that is done is based on balance, then of course it will not have too much of a bad impact on us even though it is basically a risky activity, remember that there is absolutely no coercion or even threats from any party including casinos that tell us to continue gambling or tell us to bet large amounts, meaning you can balance everything according to your abilities, and if it turns out that an activity has a bad impact on you, then it is clear that the one who should actually be blamed is yourself who is wrong in treating the activity.

But the fact is that there are indeed many gamblers who misunderstand what and how gambling really is, many of them are wrong in responding to gambling so of course this ignorance or misunderstanding will lead them to the wrong approach that makes them trapped in a slump.

you're right, no casino will advice anyone to use large amount of money to gamble or tell anyone to keep betting. But there's one thing that usually make us to go against our principles in gambling.

And it is very Common among gamblers which is greed, greed one thing that usually make us to approach gambling wrongly. Messing with the way we think, and make us to keep chasing after huge win. And endup over doing it till eventually get rekt .

Basically I think greed is something natural in humans because after all we are social creatures, especially if we talk about activities that provide opportunities to win where the object of the win is money that we always need in life, and in this case of course I can assure you that a gambler who misunderstands what and how gambling really is will definitely be trapped in greed much more often while gamblers who have at least a little knowledge and awareness of risky gambling I think they will not be trapped in greed too often because this knowledge will indirectly make them aware that greed is an action that is too dangerous to apply to gambling, greed does not guarantee that they will succeed in getting a big win, so the point is at least you know that gambling is an activity that can never be predicted, there is no way that can guarantee victory except luck.

Yeah, its just difficult when that is a conflict of interest for the government, they take half of the lotto winnings usually and sometimes more & they tax the heck out of those gains so its like not really enticing for the government to do so right. This is a big business & their whole goal is to make people addicted, its kind of sad really. Sure they will probably say gamble responsibly while they serve them drinks simultaneously.

Maybe you are right that there should be control and a certain limit on the amount that cannot be exceeded. This would save some of the lives of players who did not know how to stop. However, I am convinced that many players in a fit of excitement are ready to do much to continue the game despite their losses. I think that this is a set limit, many players would lose in one day and find different tricky ways to get around it. For example, a new market will appear where they will sell quotas of other players who do not play or something like that. Where big money is spinning, there will always be ways out of difficult situations, so I am not sure that this will completely solve the problem.

Of course, limits will always be something that must be brought and applied by gamblers, especially beginners in gambling, because after all, the limits lead to the prevention aspect in the sense that it can be said to be one of the keys so that they do not lose too much and actually the approach that leads to this prevention aspect applies to all gamblers and not just beginners. On the other hand, of course, there will always be some gamblers who are in high spirits to continue gambling regardless of the losses they experience and usually most of them are beginners who still have a high obsession with winning in the sense that they still strongly believe that one day they will succeed in getting a big win to recover all the losses they have ever experienced, but of course, however, that is the wrong mindset.

Gambling addiction can happen to anyone whether you are rich or poor. Everything is based on our risk management and ability to control our gambling activities. There are still people that do not have full control of their gambling lifestyle and it is bad for any gambler that want to have a real gambling experience without getting addiction. Addiction is one of the ways many gamblers have been losing their hard earned savings without having the full awareness of the future risks that can afd to consistent loses.

You do gambling at your own will and there's no one had been forced you on doing that and its true that no casinos will really be having that kind of forcing you to play on which there's no other that you could sue out but only yourself. This is why this kind of business is really that profitable due to human nature on which they are really that Greedy. Some people could be able to control it but there are those who can't.

On the moment that they would really be able to touch up gambling then this is where their greed do sparks out. Actually its really that not easy for you to control out specially if you are in the middle of winning situation. You would really be having those thoughts that you could actually be able to do it and able to make money with it. There are those individuals who would really be coming after to make more winning.
The worst is they've been thinking that they could become rich with gambling in no time and not making out those thinking or realizations the risks involved into it.

People will really usually be thinking up on the time that they will really be experiencing tough situations on which they will be making out adjustments on the moment that they are losing that much.
Gambling is really just that for fun but due to greed then they do eventually lose their control and make out those learnings on the moment that they have lost everything.
Actually it will really be that so hard to make out some recovery on the moment that you had put up yourself on such situation.
