Yup, thinking about that they can easily duplicate their previous wins may keep them playing, in hope that luck wil permits them and will give that chance to recover but most of the time if not in every case or scenario they will just keep adding money and lead them losing their money to the point that they already struggled with their finances. Those who believe will only suffer losing too much money in gambling but they will not stop from that. They still have a big expectation to win from gambling and hopes that they can have much money from gambling.
When the working class use gambling as a side hustle but they don't understand how to treat gambling properly, they will not see that they only waste their money in gambling. That means, they will lose maybe all of their savings to chase the win.
They must know that gambling will not solve poverty problem but will add more problem to them. If they can realize the reality that happen with many people, they will stay away from gambling and not trying to do the same thing.

I don't know, but I would just let him do the things that he wants if I were you. Don't mind him and let him realize that what he's doing is wrong. Sooner or later, he will realize that what he's done is a complete mistake. His completely addicted to gambling and I know you've been in the forum for a long time, and we know how gambling acts when they're addicted into it. Sure, what he's experiencing right now is also a factor since he wants to recover his money in a quick way and the only way to do it is through gambling. The problem is what if he loses even more money.

That's a nice way to approach gambling, by not going beyond your budget. Because that act most time do initiate addiction which is normally cause by greed of wanting more because some people want more that's why they usually go beyond their budget. Because they believe the higher their stake then more profit they can get , which is usually the wrong mindset, because those kind folks are not playing for fun rather for the money they can win .
