yes yes . and it all turned out differently . the hamburger sv scored 2 goals and in the end it was a 2:2 draw .
the curious thing about this game was that the hsv scored three goals and st. pauli only one . and yet the game ended in a draw .
unfortunately this year fernandes scored with a powerful shot from one metre into his own goal . the goal of the year . you have to watch it on youtube . Grin

in the other game schalke 04 won 4:0 against osnabrück . schalke is now in 15th place with 16 points . schalke will not be relegated .

In contrast to Schalke, Hertha Berlin have a small gap to the danger zone. But it is still very dangerous with a gap of 5-points. At least they have performed better than Schalke in the last few games. Nevertheless, it will nit be easy for Hertha Berlin to get points this weekend. Local derby time in Hamburg. The first time that both teams are at a direct promotion position in the table. Since 2021, the home team has always won those derby. I think it will be the same this time. By the way, Hamburger SV is not good away from home. So far, they have only picked up 6 points away from home. Unfortunately, the game cannot be seen on free TV.
Schalke against Osnabrück will also be exciting. As already discussed here, both teams absolutely needs 3 points.

There is no more reason to talk about promotion into the 1. Bundesliga, but I believe that they have some severe problems within the club which will take them down for many games. It is hard to believe they would really fight against relegation, but they are conceding about 2.5 goals on average per game. It is annoying for a coach to stop problems in the defense if they are so bad.

then these stars from kaiserslautern would know what real training means . kaiserslautern started the season really well. i thought they would be among the favourites for promotion. but the last few games were sometimes a disaster with the highlight > > defeat at home against holstein kiel with 0:3 .

This is really not good news for Schalke. Drexler is very often injured and it is somehow "normal" that he cannot play for 90 minutes. Regarding to the remaining programme, Schalke normally would take 7-9 points from these games. But with their current condition, it will probably be only 1 point at most. Probably against Osnabrück.

Dominick Drexler and Yusuf Kabadayi will probably not be able to play a match this year ( 2023 ) due to injury . this is really very bad news from schalke's team doctor .

so. the football weekend is over and we have seen 37 goals in 3 days . it has been a good matchday for the fans. and was there a big surprise this weekend ?
i think no . but there were still two three small surprises ! holstein kiel wins in kaiserslautern clearly with 3:0. that is already a small sensation.
but also the team from elversberg surprises me again and again. elversberg wins against paderborn with 4:1 . all other results can be seen here below.

and ? there were no surprises in the two matches on friday evening . hannover 96 could not win and the match against hertha bsc ended in a 2:2 draw .
in the second match on friday evening the hamburger sv could win against eintracht braunschweig with 2:1 . the hamburger team played a good first 45 minutes
and took a deserved 2:0 lead . after half time it was a very poor performance from the hamburger team .
so they will not get a point in the derby against st.pauli next weekend

Of course, Düsseldorf is the favourite in this game. But Schalke has improved a bit. They have won 2 of their last 3 games in the Bundesliga. However, the defeat against Elversberg was a disaster. Nevertheless, the new coach seems to have slowly found his way into the team. But it is very unlikely that Schalke will win this game. A draw would already be a success. But it will probably be the next defeat.

I am not sure about that. The team spirit at St. Pauli is completely different to that at Hamburger SV. It is much better.
But what is interesting (as I recently read in a newspaper) is that St. Pauli perform better in odd-numbered years than in even-numbered ones. So if that will happen again, then their performance should collapse next year.
But to behonest, I see that St. Pauli is more ready for promotion this season than in the last years.
