Hamburger SV will probably finish the season at place 4 again. They did not manage a win against Fürth. And now they have to wait for Düsseldorf to lose one of their remaining games and they themselves have to win one more.

Hamburg have been trying to promote to the Bundesliga for many years but still no result. He got really close in the recent two seasons by playing promotion games but still they can't make it. Sad

They are fighting for the third position right now and it doesn't look like they will be able to finish in top two once again. If they finish the regular season at the third position their probable opponent is likely to be Mainz or Koln for now in the promotion game. After all these attempts and fails I wouldn't be very confident about them this time as well. By the way I'm really sad to see Schalke in this poor condition. They might even relegate from the 2nd Bundesliga...

The several years long period of excuses is over for Hamburg. The game against Fürth is the last straw they have. Fürth could close the gap to 3 points only if they beat Hamburg and then I think it would literally be over given that Düsseldorf and Kiel won their games. But then Hamburg wouldn't only have to deal with the teams in front of them, but they would be fighting Hannover, Paderborn and probably Fürth for the last seven games. Hamburg has to play against Kiel, Pauli and Paderborn. If they don't win the game tomorrow, I'd consider their objective to get promoted officially missed. It is not a zero chance then, but Düsseldorf has the better schedule in my opinion and Holstein and Pauli would be out of reach for Hamburg. I can't believe that they are still messing around with their promotion into the Bundesliga. I bet that literally nobody thought Hamburg would be playing 2. Bundesliga six consecutive years (and probably a seventh)...

Exciting situation at the bottom of the table. Braunschweig seem to be the only team to have realised what is at stake. Things have been slowly improving since they got their new coach. In the game against Elversberg they have put the pressure on from the start and were rewarded with an early goal. The next game is against Düsseldorf.

Tomorrow Kiel will play against Hansa Rostock. Rostock are at palce 16 and they will try everything to get away from there. They have won their last two games, even against Fürth. But it will be much tougher against Kiel. Kiel have a 5 points gap to palce 1 and place 3, so they will definitely stay at place 2.

Hamburger SV can still win and so they were able to regain place 3 back. Apart from Düsseldorf, the other two pursuit teams Hannover and Paderborn, were unable to win.

Hertha brought Schalke closer to place 16 again. With their 5:2 victory, they have also shown Schalke once again that they have to act from game to game. With only two points between them and place 16 place and even 3 points between them and place 17 Schalke are still in a dangerous position.

Yes, I agree. Osnabrück will not make it. They have now a 10 point sgap to place 16.
And at the other end of the table it is already nearly lear. St. Pauli won today and are now 11 points ahead of place 3. If Hamburger SV will win tomorrow, they will still be 10 points ahead. So if St. Pauli will not make any big mistakes in the following games, they will be playing in Bundesliga 1 next year.

so. that's it. i think osnabrück has now finally been relegated back to the 3 bundesliga. düsseldorf won 4:0 in osnabrück today and are now in 3rd place with 43 points ahead of the hsv. the hsv will play against wehen wiesbaden on sunday and can then climb back to 3rd place. and eintracht braunschweig got three important points against paderborn today. braunschweig won 2:1 in paderborn and are currently in 16th place with 27 points.

Schalke has sacked technical director Andre Hechelmann. And there is probably already a successor. It is rumoured to be Ben Manga. He is still technical director at Watford FC in the English second division. He was previously in Frankfurt and discovered a number of talents for Frankfurt. Certainly a good decision for the club.
The next game from Schalke is against Paderborn. Paderborn only managed a draw in their last game against Magdebburg.

Kiel managed at least a draw. Kiel fought until the last minute and scored the goal in injury time to secure a draw. Everything was ready for Hamburger SV. A win would have taken them back into place 2.
The next game from hamburger SV is against Düsseldorf. Düsseldorf played their last game against Hannover. And it was the same picture there too. One team leads and the other manages a draw.

almost all of them ! kiel managed to save at least one point . next weekend then the top match st.pauli against hertha bsc berlin .
will st. pauli win the match ? and the hamburger sv has to go to düsseldorf . will the next zero-point match come for the hsv ?
it's exciting and remains exciting . i'm really curious to see who will end up in first and second place .
