Hamburger SV failed to keep the chasing teams at distance. They lost against Kiel and now Kiel are one point behind Hamburger SV at palce 3. Hamburger SV have yet not lose a game at home. But away from home it is a disaster. They have only managed to win once there so far. If they want to get promoted, they have to fight against their bad performance in away games.

the hamburger sv can't win any more games away from home and is still in second place in the 2nd bundesliga . as you can see : the other teams don't do so much better .
good that the hsv has another home game on the next matchday . the hsv should normally win against eintracht braunschweig .
st.pauli has to play in rotock . that will also be an exciting match .
and the two fan groups can meet again outside the stadium to show who has the better arguments  Grin Grin

the promoted team vfl osnabrück, which is currently last in the table, sacked its previous coach Tobias Schweinsteiger today.
after the recent bitter 2-3 defeat against braunschweig, who are also fighting to stay in the league, the club was forced to take this step. from the last 4 games the club only got one point - who will be TS's successor is not yet known

yes. only the name schweinsteiger doesn't score any points. but will the new coach bring better results? i think not

to be honest. these two results from yesterday do surprise me . that the promoted team elversberg wins in gelsenkirchen is a bit of a surprise.
i thought that schalke 04 with the new coach would win against the promoted team. at home and in front of over 60k fans ! but no.
they lose another important match and stay far down in the table . and congratulations to hannover . the one point is okay.
normally st.pauli should have won the match. st.pauli was the better team. but if you don't score goals you can't win. let's see if the hamburger sv can win in kiel today .
it will be difficult. if hamburg wins the hsv will be level on points with st.pauli at the top . but let's wait and see. today at about 3 pm we'll be smarter

This game accelerated their demise by quite a bit. Now they are slowly but surely getting stuck at the bottom of the table and the only positive outlook they have is that Braunschweig and Osnabrück are so much worse than Schalke. But really what can they expect with the second weakest defense in the 2. Bundesliga. The loss against Elversberg wasn't because Elversberg was lucky. It was a game that Schalke deserved to lose and I believe that they lack quality players. This isn't just some bad few weeks and a bit more training to solve these issues. As you said, losing in front of their own 60k fans is horrible and they can't leverage that great environment to play successfully.

there were two games today at the start of the 13th matchday. the 'top game' between st. pauli and hannover 96 ended goalless 0-0 and in the duel between relegated schalke 04 and promoted elversberg, the promoted team was able to enjoy a 2-1 away win at the end, thus stopping the small upward trend of schalke 04

Both teams played with great concentration. Although St Pauli had more of the game and also had more chances to score. Hannover defended very well and were lucky sometimes. It was definitely a game between two teams who are not at the top of the table for nothing.
Schalke has come back down to earth. Elversberg is an uncomfortable opponent for many teams so far and if they continue to play like this, they will probably not get into the danger zone.

St.Pauli dropped some points and could have gotten a bigger advantage of Hannover but mow Hamburger has a perfect chance of going to tie the first place. Schalke with another loss and are too close to getting into the danger zone,if they somehow get relegated it will be a serious shock for the club

so guys . tomorrow the 2.bundesliga continues .

Really interesting games.

Elversberg are not to be underestimated and I can imagine them to take 3 points from this game against Schalke.

Then there are two derbies in the north. St. Pauli vs. Hannover and Kiel vs. Hamburger SV. A win is important for Kiel so that they can stay in touch with the top of the table. The statistics for this match: Kiel won 5 times, Hamburger SV won 9 times and drew 7 times. The current form also favours a win for Hamburger SV.

St Pauli have struggled a bit in recent matches. They have won the games, but more towards the end of the second half. However, this shows that they are focussed and play for victory until the last minute.
The statistics for this match: St. Pauli won 17 times, Hannover won 22 times and drew 13 times. The curent form also favours a win for St. Pauli.

The game constellations are becoming very interesting so early. Schalke - Elversberg is an important 6-points game because Schalke could make a huge jump forward and also get closer to the promotion zone, whereas a loss would increase the gap between them and another relegation zone candidate and it would bury their hopes again for a while to make the impossible happen regardless.

Holstein Kiel - HSV is of course another nice derby, if anyone favors the teams from the North and likes to watch 2. Bundesliga. Good to see that there is also something on the line in that game.

so guys . tomorrow the 2.bundesliga continues . and two very interesting games can be seen tomorrow evening :
schalke 04 against the promoted elversberg and then the top match st.pauli against hannover 96 . at schalke 04 probably 6 players are missing due to injury .
let's see if the schalke team will still get another 3 important points . i think schalke will win the game in front of over 60k fans .
and they also have to win to move up in the 2.bundesliga

Daniel Scherning is the new coach at eintracht braunschweig. The 40-yo has signed a contract until summer 2024 with options for the 2nd and 3rd bundesliga, as the club announced. the second league bottom club parted ways with coach Jens Härtel just over two weeks ago. DS's last coaching station was arminia bielefeld, where he was then sacked again after around 7 months (at the beginning of march 2023)
Eintracht Braunschweig stats this season, 1W 2D 9L in 12 games played this season, it's a terrible results anticipated by the club. It will take calculated amount of hardwork to bounce back. 2022/2023 Bundesliga campaign, Eintracht Braunschweig escapes relegation by ending 15th position on the table, but it looks like they will not be able to escape it this season, they're ranked bottom and facing difficulties in games. The relegated team is fighting so hard to make a comeback to streak winning. The headcoach, Daniel Scherning will explore more options inother to scout for tremendous outcomes for the team.

One goes and the other comes. A few hours before the new coach was presented, the club announced that they had parted company with sports director Peter Vollmann. Benjamin Kessel will take over the job. The original plan was for Kessel to take over later.
Braunschweig will play against Osnabrück at Saturday. Before Bielefeld Scherning had been coach at Osnabrück for 1 year. The team finishedt that season at place 6.
So he has not been very successful so far. But maybe Braunschweig is "his team".

I would use St. Pauli as an example that a comeback of that sort is literally impossible because they have done the utmost to get back into the promotion game and yet failed. This is crazy because St Pauli really performed in an unprecedented fashion and could not make it. It is still a bit of a different situation for Schalke I think (can't remember exactly how far St Pauli was behind), but it's the eleventh hour. I don't think we will see another miracle like performance from Schalke with a happy end.

i really think that schalke 04 and hertha bsc berlin will be much higher up in the table by february at the latest. the shock of relegation will be gone and you will know your opponents better. 4 wins from five games would then be 12 points. and the teams at the top will also lose one or two matches. personally, i think it's going to be a damn exciting season and there's bound to be a surprise among the promoted teams

I was about to say that I doubt that Schalke will climb up the table significantly because of their terrible defense and then I had a look at the table and saw that almost all defenses in the 2. Bundesliga are quite bad. St. Pauli is the only team that conceded a single figure number of goals (9). There isn't really any team that is doing really well in defending. I think if Schalke wants to achieve the turnaround, it depends on how they will do until Christmas or maybe the next four games. If they mess up the next four games more or less, I think this season is over and it's only about staying in the 2. Bundesliga.

I would not rule that out. We saw that last season with St Pauli, for example. They were at 15th place at matchday 17 before the winter break and after that even played for promotion. They reorganised themselves during the winter break and had a really good run. That is why Iam not giving up Schalke just yet.
I see it the same way with Hertha Berlin.

That was a decent win for Schalke and they offered a great fight in this game and also weren't the weaker team here. It was also the first time this season that they were able to win two consecutive games and I think that alone says it all.

The 2. Bundesliga is strange in many seasons because the relegation zone is quite close to the upper part of the table and if you now look at Schalke with their 13 points, it is a 7 points gap to Holstein Kiel. I really can't imagine that they will get involved in the competition for promotion, but I guess it is still early and a winning streak could flush them forward quite a bit in the next few weeks.

Every year the motto is: The strongest 2nd League ever. And it really is. As you have  already written, there is not such a big point gap even between place 3 and place 16; just 9 points. So I think that teams like Hertha Berlin and Schalke will slowly but steadily climb up the table.
Schalke is definitely on a better path. The team seems to be slowly realising the ideas of the new coach.

that was a really exciting saturday evening match . the hamburger sv could win yesterday evening in the sold out volksparkstadion against a strong magdeburg team with 2:0 .
because pyrotechnics were ignited by magdeburg fans in the stadium the match was interrupted for a few minutes .
but the smoke only harmed the magdeburg team because they did not score yesterday . Grin Grin
the hamburger sv is back on place 2 behind the 1.fc .st.pauli
