so. the two matches are over today. the tips were not so good. hsv deserved to win the match against greuther fürth 2:0. but the match could have ended 5:1.
hamburger sv missed some 100 percent chances in the 2. half time. and st. pauli drew 1-1 in paderborn.

Yes, I was totally wrong with my tips. But that is how it goes. Fürth was definitely not an easy opponent and Hamburger SV had often had problems with them. But they won and that is important. But they also lost two important players. Reis and van der Brempt got injured and were probably not able to play for several weeks.

---------------------

The real drama is happening at Schalke as they lost another game, now the fourth game in a row against the former 15th in the table, namely Karlsruhe. This loss is the truest of red altert signal that Schalke could get. Losing 3-0 against an adjacent opponent near the relegation zone while being the weaker team with almost no signs of future betterment means that it can't get any worse. All of this happened just after they sacked their old coach and tried to set free some fresh energy with the new one. But to no avail.

Very disappointing performance from Schalke. They really need a win. Especially because of the new coach, they have to show that they can win again. Then they will regain their self-confidence.

i already hinted at it on saturday, and unfortunately it happened today. last place in the table eintr. braunschweig sacked its unsuccessful coach Jens Härtel. the 54-yo JH was only able to celebrate one victory for the club in the 11 compulsory games.

yes. it hasn't got any better since the change of coach. schalke 04 has already conceded 23 goals this season. that's 2.3 goals per match. only osnabrück has 23 goals conceded.
that's a sad result for a relegated team that wants to get back into the 1.Bundesliga.
but also hertha bsc berlin disappointed again today. they lost 1:3 in nürnberg and remain in the midfield of the 2.bundesliga ( rank 11 )
holstein kiel surprises me again this season. reese is gone and yet they are in 3rd place. i wouldn't have expected that. kiel won 3:1 in rostock today. respect to holstein kiel.

at the start of the 10th matchday in the 2. bundesliga, there were the following results yesterday. hannover was able to defeat the guest from magdeburg at home with 2-1 and thus climbs temporarily to the second place in the table. the promoted elversberg also won at home with 3-0 against the last in the table braunschweig.
the defeat makes it even more uncomfortable for the coach in braunschweig and it could be that he will soon be out of a job...

and ? who will win the match on saturday ? paderborn or st.pauli . and will hsv win against fürth ? both matches start at 1 pm on saturday. that will be an exciting afternoon!

In the Paderborn vs. St. Pauli match, I see St. Pauli as a favourite. They are currently the team that play like a team ver well together and they bring the most pressure in theier forward game.
I expect a draw in the HSV vs Fürth match. Fürth has always been an uncomfortable opponent for Hamburg and I think it will be the same this time.

st.pauli is still in first place with 20 points. hamburger sv is tied for second place.

oha ,oha . if st.pauli wins and the hsv only draws st. pauli already has 4 points more than the hamburger sv .
actually the hsv should win. because the opponent is not a promoted team  Grin Grin  i think the hsv will win the match in front of 57000 fans.
and paderborn will get at least one point against st. pauli . then both teams would have 20 points and still be on top .

I have no clue what to think of Hamburger SV these days Cheesy Have a look at their last 5 games with only 2 wins. They could not win their games against Elversberg, Osnabrück and Wehen and see where these clubs are ranked in the table. No need to further comment on that.

But I enjoy how St. Pauli is doing. They would be a great club for the 1. Bundesliga and in contrast to last season, this time they didn't have this horrible start and are still unbeaten and have the best defense. In 22/23 it was quite the opposite when they had to make up for the bad first half of the season, but couldn't quite get there eventually. I think this time they are the favorite for promotion into the 1. Bundesliga.

With Hamburger you never know honestly. They play attacking football and from that they concede a lot of goals they are currently second but that all can change really quickly. They are always close to going back to bundesliga but it always slips up. St Pauli doing an amazing job this season and i think this might be their season.

There are 8 players in the Hamburger SV team who played with their national teams last week. Some of them came back with physical problems. After the last international match week in September Hamburger SV had lost the following 2 matches. In any case, the international matches were often not good for their performance
Hamburger SV has often had problems wirh Fürth. Hamburger SV won 6x, drew 7x and lost 3x. I am go for a draw this time as well.

Even 32 coaches.
I am curious to see how the team and the new coach harmonise. In any case, he has already changed a lot. Mike Büskens will sit on the bench as a co-trainer. Previous coach Reis had no need for more than one co-coach sitting next to him on the bench. I think the involvement from Mike makes sense because he has a lot of knowledge about the team.

let's see. schalke has to pick up points in the next 6-8 matchdays. otherwise the new coach will quickly be the old coach and Hub Stevens will come out of the box. Grin
i think hub stevens has been coach at gelsenkirchen 5 times.

schalke 04 has fired more than 30 coaches since 2000. there were famous coaches like magath, reis, kramer, gross, stevens, tedesco, breitenreiter, rangnick and many more.
i think that's almost the record in german football. but you really don't have to celebrate this title.  Grin

Hamburger SV has had many coaches. Since 2000 there have been 27. One could be sure for a long time that there would be at least one change of coach every year. With Tim Walter, however, this tradition seems to have come to a pause for the time being. He is the coach who has been with Hamburger SV the longest time since 2000. 838 days. The fans will certainly celebrate that on the next match day. Hamburger SV will play at home against Fürth then.

hopefully there will not only be something to celebrate before the match in the hamburger stadium. if there is also a celebration after the match,
hsv will have won and gained 3 important points in the 2.bundesliga.

Schalke is Hamburg 2.0. Although maybe I am wrong and Schalke is really much worse than Hamburg of course. But it is the same range of problems. They have all this potential, an amazing stadium, they also played in the Europa League in the past and I think they have also sporadically played in the Champions League if I remember correctly, but now the whole club is in shambles and it is hard to explain why these high potential clubs keep struggling so hard.

amburg 2.0 . yes..that was good. i really had to smile just now . and you are really right. normally such teams ( clubs ) belong in the 1.bundesliga.
big nice stadiums like in gelsenkirchen, hamburg,düsseldorf, hannover ,hertha bsc berlin with 50k fans and more . normally these clubs also belong in the 1.bundesliga.
but this way the economy in the cities of the 2. bundesliga is happy too. when 8000 schalke fans travel to hamburg or berlin, the pubs in the cities are happy.
that's millions of euros a year. an important economic factor in today's world. and every club or city would rather have 5000 fans from
kaiserslautern, hamburg, gelsenkirchen ,berlin or magdeburg than just 144 fans from elversberg.

Schalke is Hamburg 2.0.

In any case, it seems that Schalke is moving in that direction. Schalke have managed to get back into the Bundesliga 1. But only for one season, because they have not worked sustainably. Many clubs see a relegation as a slip-up that only happens once. And that is probably also the problem. You have to admit to yourself and understand why the relegation have happened and then fix the mistakes. But the people in charge who made the mistakes do not want to admit that to themselves.

That is one reason and I think another reason is that teams from lower leagues are catching up and they are more determined than ever. LBundesliga.

Yes, you are right. That is also a point that I have noticed much more in recent years. "In the past, there were almost always the same clubs in the top 5. But for several years now the other clubs have caught up with their performance and the former top clubs have done less. I do not know what the reasons for this are. Maybe because the "smaller" clubs can also use more technology, have better management, use more data, etc.
But I think this development is good, because it makes the Bundesliga more exciting and not so boring.

Schalke must now show that with the new coach (Karel Geraerts from Belgium) they have brought in a good coach who can make them win games again. The advantage is that the international break gives them more time for preparation.

i'm very curious to see whether the new schalke coach will bring the team forward again. he was a successful coach in belgium.
Karel Geraerts has signed a contract in gelsenkirchen until 30 June 2025. now it's time for Schalke to collect points to avoid losing
the chance of a promotion place at the beginning of the season. let's see how many points Schalke 04 will have at the end of the year.

They are ahead of so many 1. Bundesliga clubs that usually should easily leave Heidenheim and Darmstadt behind them. I think willpower is important and of course I wouldn't argue that Schalke or Hamburg doesn't want it, but when they waste so much time in the 2. Bundesliga I wonder how they can do so many things wrong for years in a row and not get promoted again when all the infrastructure and all the resource are available. Instead it is the underdogs who find their way into the 1. Bundesliga.

Schalke lost 2-1 at home to Hertha Berlin, putting its position in trouble for this year's Bundesliga. They have only 7 points in 9 matches and if it continues like this, they will be relegated from Bundesliga 2 to the lower league. Hamburg, on the other hand, is playing very well to get the upper league opportunity it missed last year. I think one of the teams that will emerge this year will be Hamburg.

Hamburg is not playing very well. They have not shown good performance against the teams that have been promoted. Everyone assumed that they would score 9 points. But they only made one point out of that. For a team that has set itself the goal of promotion, these games were very disappointing.

Schalke must now show that with the new coach (Karel Geraerts from Belgium) they have brought in a good coach who can make them win games again. The advantage is that the international break gives them more time for preparation.
