Darmstadt has dropped six points in the last five games alone. I would like to see them in the first league as that is ages ago, but they should urgently start to take home three points again. The advantage they have over the fourth place right now is deceptive, things can change quickly and they do lack momentum at the time. Every time one top team drops points it also motivates all the other ones. Not only do you give up part of your hope, but evoke hope in the other teams and Nürnberg, Hamburg and Schalke take a deep breath when Darmstadt fails. Going to be a close race till the end.
It remains to be seen whether the other teams can gain any advantage over Darmstadt's draw yesterday. Bremen has a fairly difficult game in Heidenheim and St.Pauli might also be faced with a hard time in Dresden. Maybe it's the chance for Nürnberg and Schalke to close the gap again. Unfortunately we'll have to wait longer for Hamburg as their game has been cancelled.

The game today could be a massive big points for Werder Bremen with both St. Pauli and Darmstadt only taking home one point each. This is really something like a decisive game for Werder I would say. After this game day we will know how Schalke and Hamburg have done and I'd say only if both win, they will still have a realistic chance to compete for the ranks 1st to 3rd. If they fail once more they really don't deserve it anymore. Hamburg lost 8 points out of 9 in the last 3 games. That is worthy of being promoted to the 1. Bundesliga...

Yep, St.Pauli also losing points. It'll be interesting to see whether Schlake and Nürnberg can take advantage of this.

I'm not sure about Schalke, because even though they are at the top of the table, they are still lacking in terms of taking advantage of opportunities, last time they lost against Hansa Rostock which is arguably a bottom team. But when it comes to Nurnberg, I have faith in them.

Nurnberg has recently shown their positive trend against Hamburg, Hansa Rostock and Jahn Ragensburg.

Darmstadt back on place 1 and only Bremen can change that today. So I'm hoping for a Heidenheim win. In the first half Darmstadt plays good in the game against Sandhausen, and they score 1:0. It should have been higher, they missed the chance and unfortunately did not play well in the second half, or simply did too little for the win. Final result 1:1
Not only were Darmstadt unable to take their chances in today's game, even St. Pauli who has the same points as them also couldn't take very good chances, they only played against Dynamo Dresden who have been in very poor form lately.

I hope Werder Bremen doesn't do the same as Darmstadt and St. Pauli, they will win the game against Heidenhem today.

The quotes for Heidenheim vs Bremen are 3.75/3.6/1.95, so that roughly a 50% chance for Bremen to win. Bremen is under no big pressure imho, even if they lose, they still have a good position. If they win they will gain an advantage over the other teams.

Yes, it is strange that they take so long to make a decision. The facts are there and I don't understand why the DFB is taking so long. But apparently they have too much to do with their elections in the presidium. That seems to be more important.  Roll Eyes
In any case, Hamburg trained with 17 people today. 13 field players and 4 goalkeepers.

tonight the DFB has confirmed that HSV will have to play tomorrow. they have enough healthy players available !
this is of course not so good if some of the best players are not there
i am really curious if this team will win tomorrow. tomorrow the hsv will be missing at least the following players:
Moritz Heyer, Sebastian Schonlau, Manuel Wintzheimer, Sonny Kittel, Giorgi Chakvetadze, Faride Alidou and David Kinsombi.

Darmstadt   VS   Sandhausen

Shortly afterwards Darmstadt will play a home match against Sandhausen. Darmstadt won the away match 6-1. But Sandhausen is in good form now. They have not lost in any of the last 5 matches. They managed to draw 3 matches. Darmstadt's victory, on the other hand, is essential to the top of the points table. If they do not win, they will lose their second place in the points table. I will put my money in favor of Darmstadt today. And they will win by more than 2 goals

Darmstadt's players have been trying to control the match since the beginning of the match. And at the end of the first half they took a 1-0 lead. Ball possession Darmstadt 63% and Sandhausen only 37%. However, Darmstadt is not yet in the safe zone. They need to score one more goal early in the second half. Only then will players be able to play stress free the rest of the time.

the match is now over and darmstadt 98 surprisingly only got a 1-1 against sandhausen and lost 2 points today. in the second friday match hansa rostock could celebrate the next win, defeating holstein kiel at home 3-2 and thus getting 3 important points in the relegation fight

Hamburger SV have so many positive Corona cases that they have asked the DFB to postpone their match. They have no more than 15 players. The game against Aue is supposed to take place tomorrow. The request for a postponement was submitted yesterday. I hope that the DFB will decide soon, because both clubs have to plan.
It seems that in the last few weeks, the corona has made the DFB continue to postpone several matches, it seems that now the spread of corona in the Bundesliga has increased again because apart from several clubs in the Bundesliga 2 who have had to postpone matches, the Main Bundesliga clubs are also experiencing the same thing as is happening to Mainz at this time.

but you also have to know one thing. injured players and suspended players are also part of the team.
you can read that on the DFB website.  Tim Leibold and Stephan Ambrosius are also part of the team, even though they are injured.
and Jonas Meffert is suspended, he is also part of the team. These are really strange rules that I didn't know before.

even up to now, 3.25 pm, there is still no news from the dfb. and the players from Aue are already on their way to hamburg by bus

Heidenheim vs. Werder Bremen is the best match this weekend I guess. I Werder takes it home, they make a substantial step towards being promoted into the first Bundesliga, but Heidenheim could still preserve their chance to play a role for the first three spots should they win this match. If they lose it, I would say it is pretty much game over for them. This is make or break for them.

I don't think it will be a disaster for Schalke either. Okay, nobody knows the finances. But at Hamburger SV it was also said at that time that they would only survive financially for one year. And now it has already three...and there will probably be one more.  Roll Eyes
But at least they will get some money from the DFB Cup. Today was the draw for the semi-finals. They will play against Freiburg at home.
I do think that promotion is necessary for Schalke. Many of the structures are still from the first league, because they believed they could win promotion immediately again. If Schalke is not promoted this year, then the structure of the club will have to be adapted and downsized. In addition, the generous sponsorship agreement with Gazprom is no longer in place and the new sponsor is paying significantly less for the second league.

Schalke would still be in a very good position if they did not lose points in the last two matches. Schalke's performance was very irregular. They have consistently failed to perform well. And lost points against the weaker team. They have lost 8 matches this season. And they will not be able to qualify for the Bundesliga this season. Now they should think about next season.

The victory of Werder Bremen makes it even harder for Nürnberg, Hamburger SV and Schalke. They have to win twice themselves and hope that the other teams (Darmstadt and St. Pauli) also lose twice. That will be very close. It is not impossible and there are still 9 matchdays to go.
Well, this is a scenario that can happen, but due to the conditions that are left and few games left, both teams, both Darmtadt and St Pauli, will not want to give anything away, in fact I think that these teams will go for everything and will not let nothing in the air, that is, they will not make mistakes or be careless, because both Darmstatd and St Pauli have played very well despite the fact that some defeats have been very strong, I think that 9 games are seen a lot but they are not so many when it comes to going at the end. These positions are very hard-fought, I don't think they will deflect last.

@LUCKMCFLY I agree with you as I too don’t expect the top 3 to drop points now, and I believe that they’ll have an psychological advantage of being on the top and an added motivation to maintain their rankings. Lastly this very scenario means that we’re going to further witness more exciting football, and hence we should wager even more carefully in the remaining games.
