meanwhile Hamburg and Schalke lost points. Down to the 9th rank (Nürnberg) all the teams still have good chances to make it into the Top3. Bremen and Heidenheim are the only teams to win both of the last games, they currently have their moment. The quotes before the week end were: St.Pauli 1.45, Hamburg 1.9 and Bremen 2.0 (Heidenheim 5.0). I suppose Heidenheim and Bremen are are bit lower now  Wink
I am very much in agreement with you, because Schalke I see that ´they have lost many opportunities to continue climbing to a better position, but really, in my opinion, they have disappointed me, I have much more faith in Wender Bremen that I see that they are doing a great job, however this league usually gives many surprises, teams that I have seen very solid, solvent with all the characteristics of a champion and suddenly fall, and do not stay at the same level. In any case, the Bundesliga for me is one of the best leagues in the world, plus the German style of football is very elegant and quite rough, that's what I like about football.

@coco23 I think a while ago we had discussed about Schalke and how they have the potential, but chances are they won’t be using it to their fullest, and it seems those predictions have come true. @LUCKMCFLY I used to think best football was played only in premier league, and then someone made me watched Bundesliga games, and I had to take it back German Football is amazing, and at times I watch it over premier league games.

It will be a very interesting game. Not only because it is a city derby. But also because both teams advanced in the DFB Cup yesterday. Hamburger SV won against Koeln and St. Pauli beat the defending DFP Cup champion Dortmund. So both will appear on Friday with a proud chest.

Karlsruher really challenged Darmstadt with 2:2. Each team has scored a goal in the 1st half which built more pressure to each team and 3rd came from Darmstadt F Holland which was at the very beginning of 2nd half at 51st minutes. It was really turning hot but finally  Fabion S from Karlsruher scored a goal at 71st minute which really built more pressure to Darmstadt. Both team really tried to score a goal in the last 30 minutes but could not even make one.

I was surprised by the result. After such a long time, you have the chance to take first place and you play 2:2... the team will be angry. And it was so close, because Karlsruhe scored the 2:3 in the 74th minute. But it was offside and very close. In the 84th minute a great chance for D98: Isherwood just shoot the ball in the empty goal.... but misses. I couldn't believe it.

It will not be easy for St. Pauli. That is clear. And you have explained the next three games well. The game against Hamburger SV is a townderby and that will be very exciting. I read today that in Hamburg, 2000 fans will be allowed in the stadium again.  But only the own fans and not the guests. That is of course very bad and sad for a townderby.

Like I have said, the game of St. Pauli vs Erzgebirge may turn out a draw and it did, this goes to show that we can not really rely upon that St. Pauli will be 100% a tough club to be champion this season, and yes, all of the other clubs on the top 10th standings can surely get a chance in going up the ladder,

Hamburger SV and Dynamo on the other hand end up in a draw as well, and despite the threat of another surge this new Covid variant the Omnicron variant will cause because of people gathering around Hamburg is letting them in a pinch on making a big mistake, well despite all that health protocol on players they surely will put a lot of fans in jeopardy,

Well the only team in my opinion and right now have 4 consecutive wins is non-other than Werder Bremen winning against Dusseldorf seems a little easy for them, Paderborn gain a win against Nurnberg and vacate their standing and Heidenheim had an easy win against Ingolstadt, and John Regensberg has an easy win against Sandhausen making them up another mark on the standings.

So the table has now changed. In particular, there have been changes in places 3-9. I think the next few weeks will be very exciting. Also because St. Pauli has now not won in a home match for the first time. Darmstadt didn't take the chance either and only managed a draw.

the two draws in the games darmstadt - karlsruhe and st. pauli - aue (both 2-2) allowed werder bremen to climb to 3rd place with a spectacular 3-0 win against fortuna düsseldorf and also to catch up 2 points on each of the top two places.

Simon Terodde is an important player for Schalke. Schalke were able to play well without him against Hamburger SV and Nürnberg, but with him the 3 player chain is complete again. After his injury, he was tested positive for Corona and has only been training again for about two weeks. I am curious if he can play tommorow against Kiel.

SV Darmstadt 98 - Karlsruhe SC

I have already written it a few times and I am now a fan of darmstadt and I would like to see them back in the Bundesliga. They have won many games in the past with luck and that's what you need to make the climb. Today they are in the best lineup and Karlsruhe is missing the following players: Batmaz, Bormuth, Choi, Jensen, S. Jung, Löhr. The game today i think they will win, they have the chance to place 1 in the league... but St. Pauli also wins vs. Erzgebirge Aue.

Edit: St. Pauli has played 2:2 very lucky, if darmstadt win now, they are on Place 1  Grin

Yesterday Dresden played against Hamburger SV. With the 1:1, some clubs can overtake Hamburg SV in the table and Hamburger SV could be on 8th place in the table on Sunday. Currently they are still third.
The game was not good from Hamburg either. They were not very active.

St. Pauli was very strong at home in the first half of the season and won all 8 games. In the away games it was very mixed.
They are 6 points ahead of 3rd place. And they will play 9 of 16 games in the second half of the season at home. That is a good starting position.
The second round of this season has started, St Pauli and Darmstadt have a pretty tight competition to get first place this season, while Hamburger who is in third place must compete with Schalke and several other teams in order to ensure a place to get promotion this season going to the bundesliga, I think there will be a lot of changes in the standings that happened in the second round of the season and it looks like St. Pauli and also Darmstadt are not quite safe in their position.

today also marks the start of the second half of the 2 bundesliga. hamburger sv has a tough away game in dresden, which it must win if it wants to maintain contact with the promotion places.
in the second friday match, rostock and hannover meet. both are neighbors in the table and have to be careful not to get even more involved in the relegation fight.

Well, you can say that they are pretty lucky that it is in favor of them, right now their next game is Erzgebirge that I think can become an easy task if they are in their 100% form, which is I think it will regarding the 4-day rest because the games will resume on Saturday, or it can become a draw if they keep on making mistake, and the next game after Erzgebirge is a tough one, in my opinion,

Hamburger SV is not an easy feat for ST. Pauli recent games they surely win but with just 1 lead goal, so they need to focus and be careful for Hamburger SV to find a chance on retaliating to them, and make the game a draw or end up for Hamburger SV to win,

Their 3rd game will be against Paderborn another team that has proven to be a hindrance for St. Pauli their recent game was a win for the Paderborn 3 - 1 score, So they will need to push even further if they want to stay on top of the standings.

I too feel that St. Pauli definitely have an advantage over other teams, but a lot now depends on their player’s desire to step up and win all these games. @bct_ail yea it’s sad for the fans, but can’t blame the authorities for taking extra care to prevent lockdowns, hence I think that some fans are better than no fans in the stadium at least for the time being.

My guess is that Pauli and Darmstadt will both qualify for the Bundesliga. They are now ahead of the points table so I'm not saying this. Their gameplay is very nice. Their players have the ability to score goals. At the same time their defense is not weak. The gameplay of Pauli and Darmstadt is much better than Schalke and Bremen.

Since their first year in the 2. Bundesliga (2018), Hamburger SV have been in 1st place after the first half of the season, then 2nd place and then 1st place again. And despite these places, they have not yet managed to get promoted again. At some point, their performance plummeted. We will see if it will happen with St. Pauli or Darmstadt too.

I think that Darmstadt can qualify, this season I have been watching their performance and I think they already have the level to move up, it is also a great opportunity for them to be in the 1st of the Bundesliga, I think that this pandemic has made some Strong teams have weakened and those that seemed weak are surprising, also to see Darmstadt in this new season and in 1st would be great because that is how they measure themselves against the best and that brings more experience for their players.
