At least Leverkusen has won there game against Kaiserslautern today in the german DFB Cup.
And that 45 Minutes with 10 players after a red card means something i guess.
~

Imagine if Bayer had won the whole season and ended it with two defeats in the finals. It would be a very strange feeling  Grin
But if Kaiserslautern had won, that would also have been a miracle - after all, they are only the 13th team in the second Bundesliga. This team also surprised everyone and I hope to continue to progress. Overall, I am very pleased that Bayer won and did the golden double (without a single defeat in Germany during the season).
That would be a big shock for the team, the players and Alonso himself. It can cause a big drop in their mentality, because having a high hope and expectation to fail is something that can bring down the entire mood. It can has a possibility to affect their performances badly next season. Putting all the efforts to fail in the very end is not a joke for anyone.

I'm glad they won the cup after they won the league without a defeat. This achievement has broken the dominance of Bayern Munich, I hope it will make Bundesliga more attractive for football fans without a boring dominance of one club. It would be more attractive for Bundesliga if Dortmund win the Champions League trophy. It will repeat a history in 1997 when two teams of Bundesliga won two european trophies.

True, it would be very strange if Leverkusen had to accept 2 consecutive defeats and both were final matches, that would be completely unacceptable, I mean they performed well all season and even without defeats, and at the end they had to accept consecutive defeats? and that's from a team in Bundesliga 2? Lol
They could only score 1 goal in this match, but the 1 goal they scored was enough for them to become champions. It was Xabi Alonso's last assignment of the season and he managed to bring home the title again after the Bundesliga, unfortunately he failed in the Europa League.
Now he had to rest his mind, because it must have been very tiring working all season. But he also can't rest for too long, because he also has to immediately prepare the team for next season. Next season will be very challenging for him, because many people are watching him now. He's got quite a heavy burden for next season.

Bayer Leverkusen treble accomplishment shattered and they have to settle for two titles this season. The DFB-Pokal was important for Bayer Leverkussen after failing to win Atalanta in the Europa League final. They've been one the promising club this season with just a defeat. Xabi Alonso is currently the main instrument, he has helped his club deliver good news and will always do the pushing moves to making things running smoothly.
It was surprising to us all how Leverkusen ended up losing to Atlanta because with the way they have performed throughout the entire season no one expected them to lose to Atlanta. It could have been a treble for them but winning two trophies is not bad and they still had a wonderful season regardless.

Xabi Alonso is really doing a great job handling the team and he seemed like the main instrument just as you mentioned but the players are also have a very vital role in the success of the team so i feel it’s too early to conclude that Alonso is the key instrument. Let’s wait and see how it goes this coming season before we conclude if he is the mastermind behind the success story, and if he does maintain same momentum even after losing some players then he needs to applauded because i am confident that one or two players will leave the club anad more players will be added.

I admit that 1 score that Xhaka managed to get was a very beautiful kick from a distance that could be right on target, I was even amazed to see the kick but I was just a little disappointed if the good opportunity when Xhaka got the ball in front of the goal failed to score even though it was very easy to score and for me 1 score is a very unsafe score.
but fortunately after Odilon received a red card and had to leave the field, Leverkusen performance did not decline and actually got stronger.
just imagine what if Odilon didn't get a red card, Leverkusen would definitely score in large numbers.
but it seems like Leverkusen doesn't want to score a big amount in this match, as seen from Xhaka who seemed to waste this good opportunity and also Frimpong wasted an opportunity when he was in front of the Kaiserslautern goalkeeper.

IMO, failure in the European League will not provide motivation for Xabi to get the DFB title, but this mistake will be corrected for the next appearance in the UCL and regarding this victory, this is not the motivation for this defeat because this DFB competition is very easy for Leverkusen to get when it comes to performance Kaiserslautern is not on par with Leverkusen.
I congratulate Leverkusen and Xabi who have succeeded in getting a good history this season and it looks like next season Leverkusen will have to bring in at least one experienced star player to be able to continue the positive trend of trying to get the title in the UCL.
It's understandable to feel a mix of emotions watching a game, especially when there are missed opportunities alongside moments of brilliance like Xhaka's impressive goal. Despite the disappointment of not capitalizing on easier chances, such moments shows the potential and skill within the team. The game's dynamics, including Odilon's red card, undoubtedly changed the course, but Leverkusen's resilience in maintaining and even strengthening their performance reflects their determination and adaptability.

Looking ahead, the lessons learned from this match, particularly in terms of capitalizing on opportunities and maintaining focus, will likely serve as valuable insights for future competitions, including the UCL. While setbacks in the Europa League may not directly motivate a DFB title pursuit, they can contribute to the team's overall growth and preparation for higher-stakes tournaments. Leverkusen's dominance against Kaiserslautern proves their capability, but it also highlights areas for improvement and the need to remain vigilant against deficiencies.

Reflecting on Leverkusen's achievements this season, it's evident that they're on an upward trajectory, with promising prospects for the future. The intention to boost the squad with experienced players indicates a strategic approach to sustaining competitiveness, particularly on the European stage. Leverkusen's success this season lays a foundation for continued progress, and with strategic reinforcements, they aim to further stay put on their position as contenders in elite competitions like the UEFA Champions League.

Even though next season Xabi Alonso will still be at Bayer Leverkusen, but I am curious whether there will be big changes in their squad or not. Because after all, it seems like there are a lot of rumors circulating about Florian Wirtz who is interested in big teams out there like Real Madrid. Even though maybe it's just a rumor, but I think it's very possible for them to leave, especially about the offer from Real Madrid is always tempting. But yes, whether there will be big changes or not of the Bayer Leverkusen squad next season, at least Xabi Alonso will still do his best of course to make Bayer Leverkusen remain great next season because of its status as defending champion.

They should definitely see some of them first team players leaving the club on transfer. The name Jeremy Frimpong has been mentioned notnone not twice as he has been linked with a move to join Manchester United just If Aaron Wan Bisakka leaves the club during the transfer window.

Also, we all saw how porous they was against Atalanta during that finals, I mean the defense, they will be needing some additional players for depth and also upgrades and they will be involved in the Champions League Competition next season. Better depths to with a the test ahead of the new season would be appealing to the management.

About Florian Wirtz, we will see the speculations that will arise during the upcoming Euro's, that will determine if he stays or leaves the club completely and Real Madrid have been top guns chasing him. I will love to see such a top quality midfielder'play with Kylian Mbappe anyways.

The goal was definitely great, and the season is over for Leverkusen. Aside from that ugly loss at Europa, they finished the season 52-1 record which is insane when you think about it. If it was like 48-5 while still winning that two cups, people would have been happier, but because it is 52-1 that means people are looking at that just one result and thinking how unlucky, but the reality is that they did the double and it was a great season.

I think it's quite obvious that we are talking about people who are not really approaching any decent level, there isn't really anything we can consider as bad, this has been quite a good result without a doubt and they should be happy with the season they had, I believe it was amazing.

You're disappointed, folks. Were Leverkusen on fire all season? All of us thought they had it. Trust me, nobody predicted this. Keeps us guessing. Though painful, this loss shows that even the best teams have bad days. However, Leverkusen should not be dismissed. With world-class manager Xabi Alonso, they have a youthful, talented team. I promise they'll recover. Yeah, maybe hold off on wagering the house on them, but dont write them out. The team has huge potential. Always remember that winning isn't everything. It's how you handle defeat. I expect Leverkusen to manage this. Always stronger, they'll return. Just wait.

After the match against Kaiserslautern on DFB Pokal final match then automatically Leverkusen have completed all of their matches this season and according to their statistics Leverkusen has fantastic records because they can scores 145 goals total in all competitions and only lost once even in Bundesliga their status is still unbeated and people may be will be so curious whether next season Xabi is still can able to managed Leverkusen unbeated records at Bundesliga or not
The regret for today is the failure to keep the unbeaten and terbele winner that was released after they lost an important match against Atalanta that made the record that they had compiled very well must be lost because of 1 defeat.

But the rest for now we certainly know that with what they have shown at this time indeed Leverkusen is doing an extraordinary match because indeed 53 matches with 1 defeat and 52 wins in all competitions is clearly a record that is even difficult to get anyone even though it is a big club but Leverkusen is able to do it without players who can be said to be stars before because Xabi at the beginning of the season did not look for star players but created star players.

With the outstanding results this season, not only has the view of Leverkusen changed but for now the value of some players has soared tremendously and it is all thanks to Xabi's foresight in building the squad and maintaining the club's performance.

This could be a big gift for Frankfurt, but are they ready to play on equal terms in the Champions League, or would it be better for them to play in El, where their chances of passing the playoffs would be higher? Of course, any team would like to play in the Champions League, from this point of view it is clear that Frankfurt will hope for Dortmund to win the Champions League final, but how realistic is it to beat Real Madrid now?

A good question that is.  Smiley  On paper, Frankfurt's chance of having a successful run in the Europa League is much higher compared to the Champions League. They even won the Europa League title in the 2021/2022 season you know. However they can make much more money in the Champions League even if they don't do so much. You know how high numbers teams are getting just because of qualifying for the group stage.

Besides the Champions League format is changing as of next season like I said before. Not everyone is playing against each other even though the format is similar to the league kind. If they get a lucky draw then who knows what happens.

When it comes how realistic Dortmund to beat Real Madrid, not too likely but this is football.  Smiley

Two titles are also good enough for Bayer Leverkusen this season because they have never won 2 titles at once in one season, meaning they have broken their first record, even though they failed to win the UEL title, at least they have achieved far and become runners up behind it all. because of Alonso's success in building a strong club and next season we will see how Alonso will handle his club competing in the UCL, will they make history again by winning their first UCL title?

What is clear is that Alonso will compete with other great coaches in big competitions who have smart tactics so Alonso will not have it easy like this season by achieving continuous wins. I am curious whether Bayer Leverkusen will meet Atalanta again next season in the UCL because they will both compete in UCL would be more exciting if they were in the same group Grin

I still respect Xabi Alonso no matter that they were unable to win Europa league because of his coaching skills which has made him to achieve a record that no coach have achieved throughout the history of Bundesliga. If it happens that Writz is leaving and some other players, he will get a replacement and he knows the player that he will be bringing over that he can do the job.

We might still see a new name from this present Leverkusen squad that will take over the scoring as we have seen that in the past with several clubs. I don't think that it will be a problem for Alonso if he loose some of his players that are after big clubs, he will still build up the team to be as strong as this. However, it will be much better and a relieve to him, if none of his men leaves.
I'm not really sure that next season Xabi Alonso can repeat the achievements they got this season because the habits of a team like this will make it much more difficult to maintain performance like the previous season. It is different from top teams like Bayern Munich because they have much better quality players even though this season they have experienced big failures in all competitions. Bayern Munich just needs to find a coach who has good qualities and their failure this season is much more due to the coach.

Having players come and go is a normal thing in football because there are many clubs that try to monitor the development of the players that Leverkusen has. Xabi Alonso will find it much more difficult to maintain consistency in the best form of play for his team next season because I am sure there are other teams who will try to make changes.

Defending the championship title in the coming season is another thing, and a burden for the future. But Xabi Alonso really created new history for the Bundesliga. He was the first coach in the Bundesliga, previously he only coached Sociedad B. And he broke Bayern Munich's record. Apart from that, Bayer Liverkusen was also the first champion in the Bundesliga with Xabi. Not only that, almost all the main players also scored goals, not just strikers, defenders were also goal machines.

Congratulations to Alonso and the team on their double win. They are the most in-form team right now. While we hope they continue their great work, next season might not be the same. Many average teams have a good run, develop star players, and then sell them the following season. They often return to their usual level of performance and start losing again. I believe Xabi and the players should take responsibility because today's good decisions build a team that stays at the top for years, not just for one season. A team that fights for every title earns respect from its fans. Without key players, they could fall back to where they were before. Leverkusen should keep their top players because the competition will be tougher next season. Even if they can't keep all their players, at least Xabi Alonso stays, and they should learn from the upcoming challenges.

Bayer Leverkusen journey this season in the Bundesliga has been very impressive, Xabi Alonso succeeded in bringing Leverkusen to win two domestic titles for the first time in the club's history. The Bundesliga and DFB Pokal trophies mark the beginning of Leverkusen rise to become a strong team in the Bundesliga, but there will always be unpleasant issues behind this success, other clubs will try to poach their top players who are considered capable of contributing to the team and have a good future.

Florian Wirtz is the player who has attracted the most attention behind Leverkusen success, other clubs are trying to approach him individually or through the club to bring him. Player piracy has become an inseparable part of football, of course there will be changes in the Leverkusen squad for the front machine. Xabi Alonso will try to bring in other players to increase the strength of his squad and he must look for players who can be relied on to replace the positions of players who have gone to other clubs.

Indeed Bayern Leverkusen tried even though they didn't finish the season in an unbeaten run in all competitions but they did finish the Bundesliga in an unbeaten run so they are the first team to set such a record which can be difficult for any other team to achieve within a short time. The record alone has set them outstanding in the Bundesliga and for them to win the trophy and the DFB Pokal is a huge achievement for them so they shouldn't feel bad that they didn't add the Europa league trophy but if they continue in this performance they can still win European titles in the future.
Leverkusen still showed their prowess in Germany unbeaten this season, although they failed to win the treble winner but they were able to dominate the domestic league this season by winning two championship trophies undefeated, Leverkusen journey this season in the domestic league is indeed quite spectacular but it is different in the Europa League which actually had to get the first defeat of the season from Atlanta,  The DFB Pokal victory was certainly a great achievement for Alonso and this season they managed to end the season with two prestigious trophies in Germany, final match is the last game Leverkusen have played in the season and I think they will take a break from a long season to prepare their squad for next season.

The DFB final match was their last game of the season, but the most interesting thing in my opinion in the final match, was Xhaka beautiful shot from distance that was able to bring victory for Leverkusen in the final match, Xhaka goal in the 16th minute was the only goal created in the game and it seems that what is said by many people today seems to be true,  If players who quit Arsenal finally managed to win their titles at other clubs during this time.

Once again Granit Xhaka scored a beautiful goal and this time he did it in the DFB Pokal final against Kaiserslautern. That was also the only goal scored in this match and also locked up Leverkusen's second trophy this season. I think the previous failure in the European League final was enough to teach Xabi Alonso's squad and they immediately improved in another final this time.

Of the 53 matches in all competitions, they only lost 1 time and this was an achievement that had never been previously expected. How Xabi Alonso turned Leverkusen into a threat is very real this season. It won't just stop at this season but they will continue it in all competitions next season. Maybe Leverkusen will still be consistent enough, but if they are undefeated again they will find it difficult to do that.

Even though Bayer Leverkusen managed to get the DFB Pokal trophy but for me, I was still quite disappointed because Bayer Leverkusen only won with a very low score of 1-0. After all, I think it is very clear that Bayer Leverkusen could have won with a bigger score because after all, Kaiserslautern is also at a level that is not equal to the quality of Bayer Leverkusen at this moment. So yes, I personally am not very happy with Bayer Leverkusen victory in the DFB Pokal final, because Bayer Leverkusen also didn't play against the top teams in the Bundesliga either. But indeed, regarding Bayer Leverkusen's great achievements this season, they only suffered one defeat in all competitions, ofcourse it will be difficult to repeat or clearly it will be difficult to achieve it again in the next season.
In fact, the DFB Pokal final between Leverkusen and Kaiserslautern was not balanced, where the two teams had different levels of competition and also different consistencies. A narrow 1-0 victory was enough to lead Leverkusen to secure the trophy, Xhaka became the hero of the victory, and Leverkusen ended the season successfully winning 2 trophies.

Leverkusen success story this season is certainly historic, although the defeat in the Europa League final cannot be forgotten, overall the struggle shown by Leverkusen this season really deserves appreciation from various parties. Of course, it will not be easy to repeat this, and it will also not be easy for other teams to match Leverkusen record in the seasons to come.

Praise and congratulations to Lverkusen and everyone involved in the club, their performances have entertained football fans all over the world, we are lucky and entertained by their performance this season. The season has ended, Xabi and his fleet will look back at next season with high motivation as defending champions in two competitions, but before that, let's see how Leverkusen moves in this season transfer window.
