They got their asses kicked by Mainz, which was a surprise but still, such things will happen from time to time. They cannot win every time.
This is Bayern's only loss this season, so far, making their loss ratio of 7%. The same ratio in the last few seasons when Bayern reached for the title was between 12% and 15%. Taking their past successful seasons as the benchmark, they are still performing above expectations.

And I'm happy to see Bayer closing the distance to Bayern, which makes things much more interesting, especially with Dortmund and Stuttgart being big disappointments.

Honestly, I don't think many people were expecting this defeat very soon based on Bayern Munich's performance in the Bundesliga competition this season. The strong teams I thought might have an opportunity to defeat Bayern Munich were Dortmund and Leverkusen, but Bayern Munich managed to draw against these teams.

As for today's game, I was not expecting Mainz to be able to defeat Bayern Munich, despite it being a home game for Mainz. I knew before the game started that it might not be an easy match for Bayern Munich, as Mainz has given them tough times in the past when I checked their head-to-head record.

However, I still didn’t expect them to defeat Bayern Munich in today's game. All I expected was for the game to be hard for Bayern Munich, but I believed they would at least manage a draw. I never thought Bayern Munich would lose this match to Mainz.

Indeed today was the worst performance I have seen from Bayern Munic even though they played away. They are a big team that should not be too influenced by home or away matches. Bayern Leverkusen managed to win Augsburg even though they scored below my expectations. Seems they were more focused on collecting the three points so they defended any goal they manage to get and were not much offensive today.

Every game are supposed to be won by them and if they fail to realise that early, it’ll be at their own disadvantage. They have been playing quite well since the beginning of the season and no one could have thought that they will lose to Mainz today. This is their first loss since the beginning of the season. They are one of the potential teams for the Bundesliga title and this loss was not suppose to retard them and make them feel bad not to perform better. They have come a long way and all along, their performance has been very incredible and they deserve all accolades. Even after the loss today, they still get to maintain their first position, that’s how much confidence they’re suppose to have more on themselves that they can still win the league title. Let’s see how they perform in their coming games because I don’t think they’ll be retarded after today’s loss.

I don't really like Bayern Munich's game today, there was no creativity in breaking through the tight defense built by Mainz, only one sharp opportunity was successfully obtained and converted into a goal. On the other hand, Mainz appeared unexpected, they were very calm, solid, and focused.
This was Bayern Munich's first defeat and at the same time gave Leverkusen the opportunity to continue to approach their position.
I think Kompany must evaluate his squad's defense if he doesn't want the same thing to happen again in the future.

Bayern Munich had more control of the game but still couldn't make use of their chances to win the game. Leverkusen has won their own game and it's left for Frankfurt.
