It so surprising that Leverkusen are not really performing their best this season, they're not even playing like the defending champions and I'm wondering if they'll even finish in a good position on the table if it continues this way,
Why? They are placed 4th and there is literally no team below them other than maybe Dortmund that could challenge their position based on their results, Leipzig has the advantage of playing just in the Bundesliga but a ton of matches against better opponents and Frankfurt is not a powerhouse anyhow by any meaning.
So, who is going to push Bayer out of the top places?
Bayer Leverkusen are doing well, although I know that they are not doing great as last season, but still, we can’t say they are not in good form this season seriously. They are doing well. However, I’m expecting Leverkusen to be in the top 3 position in their match. I’m thinking they will replace Frankfurt very soon in that table, so Bayer Leverkusen are doing well this season as well, but you can just say they are not doing like last season, saying they are performing well or they can’t end in a good position. I don’t believe with that one.
It is hard to stay unbeaten throughout the season, and it takes a lot of luck. But I agree, even though Leverkusen is not very good this season, Xabi Alonso squad seems capable of finishing in the runner-up position in the standings. Leverkusen weakness this season lies in the defense line, which is relatively easy to concede goals.
A 5-goal win indicates that Leverkusen front line is not a problem, it's just that when the team plays too aggressively they are quite prone to conceding goals. That is the weakness that is seen from the strategy implemented by Xabi Alonso this season. However, apart from all that, the most important thing is to secure 3 points in every match.
Actually, wherever Leverkusen finishes this season, they deserve praise, because they are able to change our perception of the boring Bundesliga.
