Smart is not enough, there must be skills
We finally saw Bayern Leverkusen doing the impossible. It was literally impossible until it finally happened last season. I would love to see  Borussia Dortmund fight for the tittle this season. This is something they should have won years back but they couldn't. I still expect a tougher challenge from the defending champions, in my mind, I don think they they have whatever it takes to win the bundesliga league competition. They have not kicked off same way they did last season but all hopes are not dead. They didn't even see their players from last season leaving. Did they?!

Dortmund's chances of winning the title this season are estimated at 1 in 26 - exactly half as bad as Leipzig's. Apparently they missed their opportunity and will have to wait a long time for the next one, now they are in 7th place with a goal difference of +1. What can we talk about here.
By the way, Bayern's chances are currently estimated at 1.33 and in my opinion this is an erroneous quote given how Bayern are performing in serious games.
Borussia Dortmund wasted too many opportunities to be able to become champions again in the Bundesliga, many opportunities that they actually got from previous seasons. The peak in the 2022/2023 season when they got a draw in the last Bundesliga match so they failed to become champions. They needed 3 wins at that time to become champions, but they couldn't get them.

After that they experienced a decline, last season alone they could only be in 5th place and had to be shifted several positions from the runner-up they usually occupy. This season they also showed a decline where they have not been able to show their best performance at the beginning of the season, so they are in 7th place in the standings.

This season is new one and it's entirely different from previous season, watching the epic consistent performance and stats of Leverkusen, they've been having greater heights to win matches. They're the best club in Germany currently, we've watched and observed their style of play, it amazes me for such a top club to be in the front futures. Bayer Leverkusen headcoach, Xabi Alonso conquered Bundesliga last season, he won major titles and now put his club in a position that they're strong enough to hold on big winnings. Bayer Leverkusen didn't give up this season, watching their epic performance against their opponents, it's improving.

I just hope speaking about the Leverkusen of last season not this season because everyone have seen how their performance dropped this season as they have already lost one match compare to last season where they didn't lose a single match in the Bundesliga. Towards the end of last season, their performance started to drop due to fatigue and injuries, I was expecting Alonso to sign more players, but the management decide to maintain the same team while knowing that they will be playing in the Champions League.
I am not expecting much from Leverkusen this season because they are not as strong as they used to be last season.
I think Leverkusen continues to make a strong impression this season. Coach Xabi Alonso's team is playing very well. It should be emphasized that Leverkusen is one of the most effective attacking teams in Europe. The proof is that in the last 15 consecutive matches played at home, Mr. Xabi Alonso's games have torn the opponent's net at least 2 times each match. From being considered a phenomenon, I think they are gradually becoming a real force when against every opponent, every tournament, they are steady until the last seconds.

I wouldn't be surprised, with a little more luck, Leverkusen could even win the Bundesliga this season. What I need them to do is focus on a single goal.
It might be difficult for Leverkusen to win the title back to back with the current form of Bayern who are topping the table currently. Leverkusen was able to shock the world last season by winning the title unbeaten, which I don't think that Bayern has done since they have been winning the title. However, this season is different and Leverkusen are not as strong as last season which has made a lot of people doubt their success in winning the league this season. But if they can keep up to their consistent performance just like last season and avoid losing any match till the season will be over, it is going to be possible. I see Bayern Munich as the favorite club to win the title this season because they look stronger than Leverkusen.

From 2013 till 2023, Bayern Munich were able to dominate and win the German Bundesliga which was 11 consecutive titles for the Bavarians but just like you said, a certain Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen were able to finally break that dominance to allow German football fans see a new champion after 12 years. Since the start of the new season, Bayern Munich seems like they're very much on course to reclaim the league title while many are expecting Bayer Leverkusen to replicate their feat of last season. This has made the German league become more competitive than it's ever been in the last one decade.
Personally, I'll want Bayer Leverkusen to win the league the league again this season but from all indications, it seems they'll need a miracle to stop Vincent Kompany's men from being crowned German champions at the end of the season

The Bayern Leverkusen’s playing style are not impressive as last season but they’re are still a strong force in the Bundesliga that will definitely give a tough time to any club that wants to reclaim the title from them this season. Bayern Munich are also showing a very great feat and can be seen as another potential team for the Bundesliga title after losing it to Bayern Leverkusen last season. The season is very much early but based on what each team has showcase from the start of the season, we can partially place them in those positions and what we feel about them from now. After mid season, a lot would have happened that may change the views on each of this teams, but overall, we will wait till them to see what happens before another conclusion or prediction can be drawn about each team in the league. Bayern Munich should beware of Bayern Leverkusen just like that vice versa.

Bayer Leverkusen seems to be a little less good this year compared to last year, but overall they are still very high quality. Technical Director Alonso is still trying to keep the team at a high level. I think they are trying to play without mistakes because they are aiming for the top spots in Germany and the Champions League. Of course, there may be surprise points losses in some matches. Not every season can be as good as last season. Their performance last year was a performance that went down in Bundesliga history.
I think Leverkusen current performance is not in a bad condition compared to last season, indeed they has suffered their first defeat in the league this season but that does not mean they have declined this season, in some of the matches they have played, I see that Leverkusen performance is not different at all because indeed the mentality, performance and consistency that they have are still very visible as a champion team,  Even when they are currently 3 points behind Munich at this time, Leverkusen is still a very competitive team for compete to be able maintain the current status of defending Bundesliga championship.

That's really true that Leverkusen is a bit lesser with productivity than they were last season, they had a really good season last season and this season its not been a smooth ride for them as they are still having a few ups and down around to settle just yet but then sometimes they try their best to maintain a good position that will help them maintain a decent stance on the table so should incase they are able to come up with something later on, they wouldn't be too far behind to be able to meet up and probably defend the title.
I don't know from what point of view you judge if they are no longer productive, even though they are currently the second team to score the most goals after Munich, besides last season we admitted that they were unbeaten in the league but didn't they also lose a lot of points by getting 6 draws?

But when compared to last season Leverkusen's performance is much different even though if you look at it so far they are still quite consistent in giving good results. Bayern Munich leads in the Bundesliga while Leverkusen is in fifth place in the standings and the title competition will be a little more difficult because there are four teams so far that are equally consistent in playing. To repeat the same luck as last season will be much more difficult because now they have to face four clubs that are getting better in quality.
The four teams are also still not necessarily as consistent as they are now in this season's journey because they can still lose to other teams when many of their players are tired or injured. I still see Leverkusen as a team that all teams in the Bundesliga must be wary of this season because I am quite sure that Alonso will continue to make important evaluations in order to improve the performance of his players in the upcoming matches. Although the conditions will be very different from last season because this season the pressure felt by Leverkusen has been very different from last season.

The competitions they are going through this season are also many so Xabi Alonso needs to make some changes every time he wants to rotate players.

It is difficult to become a team that is able to maintain the team's condition intact after the championship. Especially for the team that has just won. The team's challenge is to retain players and improve the team to compete in the following season. This happened to Leverkusen. You see some players leave. Then other teams moved more in the atmosphere of the transfer market earlier this season. So this season the competition is getting more difficult, those who do not prepare well will lose the competition.

Leverkusen's success last season in winning the Bundesliga title and breaking Bayern Munich's dominance was the beginning of everything so that this season it is already clear that the Bundesliga competition is much fiercer with the development of several teams competing at the top.
However, for Leverkusen I am very pessimistic this season, it is still early in the season but we can see that their strength has not developed and is not even better than last season so in my opinion their percentage of being able to defend the title is very small.

A history that might be difficult to repeat, we all witnessed how impressive they were last season. Xabi Alonso was the key figure behind the creation of that history.
Admittedly, Leverkusen is not performing at the same level as last season. They have suffered their first defeat against Leipzig, after maintaining an unbeaten record for quite some time. I agree that they are still a quality team, because overall they are the same team as last season, who managed to win the Bundesliga trophy.. Many assumed that some of their key players would leave, but we can clearly see that Xabi Alonso has managed to convince his players to stay, at least as long as the manager is still in charge.
However, even though they are not as consistent as last season, Leverkusen still has a chance to compete for trophies. After all, Leverkusen presence means that Bayern Munich will never feel comfortable at the top of the table, the pressure will always be there every week.

I see Leverkusen's performance this season is much different compared to last season and they don't have a strong chemistry anymore for an impressive performance, I think everything is over for Leverkusen and it is very unlikely that they can defend the title.

If we talk about what needs to be fixed from Leverkusen, I think there are quite a lot, especially their defense line which at the beginning of this season looked very bad and not only that but the team game is well organized again.
Leverkusen still has a lot of time to fix all lines this season in order to make a much better comeback than the beginning of this season. Because I personally am still quite sure about the tactics that will be developed by Xabi Alonso in Leverkusen so that there is still a possibility for Leverkusen to make competition at the top of the Bundesliga standings even though it will be quite difficult for Leverkusen to win the Bundesliga again this season. Currently Leverkusen is only three points behind Bayern Munich and that is still not too far for Leverkusen to catch up with when Bayern Munich loses in the upcoming matches in the Bundesliga this season.
What i observe is that the frenzy around the fact that they had a very productive and loud season in the recent season before this one had gotten them so much attention that everyone player against them now want to make sure they are not setting same records against them again this, other team are now more careful playing against Leverkusen so as not to be the team with which Leverkusen gets to accumulate points and have another season of records, this has made it really difficult for the team to be able to maintain a good stance such that it beginning to appear like their tactics and strategies aren't working anymore then I'm hoping by mid season xabi should be able to restrategies so as to keep the team in a good position even if they don't literally win every game but they still have good records that can probably get them to been able to defend the title.

The Bundesliga is now getting tighter, we don't see what used to happen in previous seasons where Bayern Munich could comfortably dominate the Bundesliga, but this season looks a little different, this is something we really expected. I don't know, but I feel that Leverkusen's success in winning the Bundesliga last season was a big motivation for other teams that they could do the same, that's what ultimately made the competition tighter as we see now.
But this is just the beginning of the season which I hope that this will happen until the end of the season. Because one of the problems that is often faced by several teams is that they decline when entering the second half of the season which makes their standings even more distant.
Leverkusen's success last season in winning the Bundesliga title and breaking Bayern Munich's dominance was the beginning of everything so that this season it is already clear that the Bundesliga competition is much fiercer with the development of several teams competing at the top.

Bayern Leverkusen's performance this season is not bad; they are only 3 points behind Bayern Munich, who are currently topping the Bundesliga league table, and it's too early to say that Bayern Leverkusen has a small percentage to defend the Bundesliga League title this season because clubs in the Bundesliga league have only played six matches this season, and that is not enough to determine the club that will win this season's Bundesliga title. Just know that Bayern Leverkusen can't repeat the same performance they had last season in the Bundesliga league, but I want you to know that Bayern Leverkusen has a big chance of retaining the Bundesliga league title, and they will put in a good fight to defend the Bundesliga title this season.

I agree! Leverkusen wouldn't be out of title race in one season. But it seems like the fairytale has ended for them already you know. They can't keep up the same form from the previous season and it is totally normal as well. In the end, there is no team which can do this in top European leagues. Even PSG couldn't do it in all of the seasons in their farmers league.  Tongue

But this isn't important. Nobody expects them to turn it into such a show again. The fans will just hope for a back-to-back title. But for a team that have become the Bundesliga champions for the first time in their history, it will be extra difficult.

Especially while Bayern Munich have also woken up with Kompany.  Wink

No Bayer Leverkusen didn't let their star players from last season leave during the summer. The players are excited because they are part of an amazing project that made history last season when they won the league unbeaten. I think one thing that made the players to stay without leaving was the fact that their manager Xabi Alonso didn't leave the club last season. Had it been that Xabi Alonso left their star players would have left as well. The fact that these players are still playing together make Bayer Leverkusen side a dangerous side. I still rate Bayer Leverkusen side very high than Borussia Dortmund.

Instead of Borussia Dortmund to fight for the title this season, it will still be Bayern Munich and  Bayer Leverkusen. Dortmund are not consistent with their performances in the league. And gradually they are losing that fear factor, as Bayer Leverkusen are gradually taking up the position of second best team in Germany after Bayern Munich. Few years ago it was Borussia Dortmund but today Leverkusen has overtaken them.

Manuel Neuer's current age is 38 years old, usually it won't be long before a player of that age decides to retire, I think he will last at least 2 more seasons for Bayern Munich and decide to retire from the player. This will be another job for Bayern Munich, I mean they have to prepare a suitable replacement to be able to play under the crossbar to replace Manuel Neuer's role.
I personally haven't heard of their interest in any player, maybe I haven't looked further. But I think they will also be young players so they can use them for a very long time. Because a goalkeeper will last a long time and is always a mainstay when he performs well.
I dont know if Manuel Neuer will add another two years after this season ,for sure he is very good at his age.
When he is on the way to decide to retire there will and are be some offers to make his way in the Club or into the managment from Bayern Munich.
A very nice option and good goalkeeper who would be fit into that team wil be Frankfurts Kaua Santos as he is good and young.
But i guess they are already have there eyes on some good Goalkeepers.
His contract with Bayern Munich will expire in mid-2025, meaning this is his last season in a Bayern Munich uniform. Haven't heard anything yet that Bayern Munich will extend this player's contract, and I think maybe at the end they will make a decision, but I think they will still need this player's services.
You are right, if Manuel Neuer retires after his contract ends, then Bayern Munich could recruit him to join the coaching staff. He is one of the mainstay players and also a legendary player with Bayern Munich, so if Neuer is interested in taking a coaching course, then he could remain part of Bayern Munich and his status is no longer a player but will still be part of the coaching staff. Maybe.

I don't think anyone predicted that Leverkusen would be champions last season, because the previous season they had to struggle in the middle or even the bottom until they finally rose after appointing Xabi Alonso as their coach. Because every season Borussia Dortmund is always the main competitor for Bayern Munich, there is almost no other name other than Borussia Dortmund. A surprise happened after Leverkusen was able to show a very impressive performance, they were even able to win the title with an unbeaten record. Honestly, I personally never imagined that before. Even the team I was waiting for to be able to break Bayern Munich's dominance couldn't do it, Borussia Dortmund.
