I have to say thanks and as we say in Jamaica Nuff Respec Mon!

I ordered 3 units from Sushi for delivery to me here in Jamaica. And they were shipped and delivered exactly on time as they say they would I had the miners in hand 4 days after sending my coins.

Units that came appeared to be new and unused, even though 2 had the thermal paste leaking problem which is the least, as they all were up and hashing within 5 mins of me plugging them in.

I will definately be buying more of these units.

Big up Mon.

Thermal paste leaking out is a sure sign of new and unused Smiley

I spend 15 to 30 minutes cleaning each of my units as they come in.

They also leak some kind of clear oil that is hard to see that I clean up as well (it's from the thermal paste)

Reading it all just made me happy i didn't buy any antminer from them.

Does it apply to Avalon as well? Or just Antimers?

I got me two miners, shipped to me this week. They are both used units, no just tested for a few hours but I guess they are used for hashing for almost a month. Production date is January 4th 2014. Grey thermal paste leaking from screws over the PCB and dust and dirt on/in the Fans. Not just a bit of loose dust: sticky dust you can't easily remove.

So Sushi and/or Bitmain, please be so honest to mention this on your sale topic or on your website, that you sell and ship USED units.

I cleaned the PCBs and the fans. Although they are used, they hash on 180GH/s without a problem, temp 46 degrees Celcius, not to much noise from the unit. Can't complain about that.

So, if you order an Antminer S1 unit from sushi today, what is the ETA? I'm asking because China is on new year holidays.

And, how/where do you go to make your order? Sorry for the question, but I'm a bit confused. Thanks in prior!

A lot of mine came like this. Should I try to clean some of the paste off? Normally they don't come this bad.

...

I had one similar a couple months ago. It was quite messy and oozing from the bottom of the heatsink and board as well. I cleaned it the best I could with a small piece of thin plastic as a scraper, then I wiped it down with alcohol and clean the rest with a q-tip. The fasteners on my messy one were also loose, check those for tightness. If you are able to tighten them more compound will come out so you probably want to do that before you do your final clean up.

You absolutely must clean that off.

I have had 3 S1's arrive. I have spent 30 minutes, 20 minutes, and 15 minutes respectively cleaning each unit.

You WILL get short-circuits if you don't clean it up.

Secondly, there is an oil in the paste that is harder to see. You should clean that up too. It helps to blow a fan on it to dry some of it up.

Spend a bit of time cleaning, it is worth it. It is really hard to clean out from the resistors and such, but take your time, be careful, don't break anything.

There are two types of thermal paste or grease, electrically non-conductive thermal grease that includes silicone and zinc or electrically conductive that includes silver, copper, and aluminium. Bitmain uses a non-conductive thermal grease, you do not need to even need to remove it, it just looks prettier if you do  Smiley

According to the factory, the paste is not conductive and it will not harm the chips but please wipe them as much as you can before using the Antminer!!!

That's the best I can do on this issue.
