I kind of hope it does not get onto an exchange for some time yet, because even though it is way higher difficulty its difficulty could go up even more once it is on an exchange, due to more miners merging it or pressuring their merged mining pool operators into adding it to their merge.

Maybe though it is already difficult enough that the time has come to stop quietly building up a stash at low difficulty, bite the bullet and live with it being hard to mine...

Afterall there are still CoiLedCoin and GeistGeld for the merged miners who like to build up a stash before a coin gets onto any exchanges and into large public pool merges. Smiley

If it does not run in the background, do not know if that can be addressed.
Code:

I yesterday tried installing the linux wallet on linux mint. We couldnt get it to work. I simply didnt find how to install or start anything. And the docs are for bitcoin wallet it seems.
I wonder how others get it to work. I mean you need such a wallet since i dont know a way to store or transfer groupcoins another way.

difficulty seems to have jumped hugely the last day or two. it's now larger than i0coin. has it been picked up by other big pools or is it being traded on an exchange?

Does this apply to the daemons?
it's the daemons, yes. unfortunately I'm not a programmer so can't tell what might be wrong.

Does this apply to the daemons?

As I recall there is an input verification in the GUI that one needs to change to make address in the GUI work right, when we first made GRPcoin and DVCcoin we discovered that.

Other than that well maybe compare the code of the two versions see if they treat addresses differently?

i've come across what looks like a discrepancy between the old client and the new client. if I use vanitygen to generate the address (using vanitygen -X 3 2) I sometimes get an address that is valid in the old client but not in the new one. i use 'groupcoind validateaddress' to check if it is valid. any thoughts on what the problem could be?
