To all of you wondering about lower hashrates with their GTX 1060-3,
as I said before here
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.19288923

I won´t recommend the GTX-1060 with 3 GB because they have less cuda-cores, a lower bandwidth memory interface and usually lower base/boost-clocks.

GTX 1060-6: 1280 cores
GTX-1060-3: 1152 cores

... so now way to get the same speed.

I trimmed my 2 cards a little more with MEM + 600, now getting ~ 44.5 MH/s at daggerhashimoto,
still using 230W at wall with one core G4400 mining cryptonight at 49 H/s on top.

experiencing the same thing with my cards msi 1060 3gb dual fans.

only getting about 14.8-15mh per card.

i see other users get 18mh and above for stock settings, any solutions to fix my low hashrate?

Usually my ASUS dual 1060 3gb show 19mhs (from the box w/o OC):

But one card show 15mhs only:

I've try swap cards - same result. Anybody know what maybe wrong with it?

I'm also having this problem on my ASUS dual 1060 3gb. An internet search show's others having similar issues on MSI cards so i don't think its specific to this one. Seems to only happen on Win10? Any fix would be greatly appreciated, i've tried all sorts of drivers to no avail.

I experience the same with all my Asus Phoenix 1060 3gb (got 10 of them). But they all have Hynix memory. They are at 15mh/s out of the box, 18-19 overclocked. This is on Windows 10 with all updates.

Correct. GDDR5X is not good for mining.

On Ethereum:

22.5MH/s on the PNY 3GB 1060's

24MH/s on the ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB ROG STRIX OC Edition's

I have an 1060 with 2GB of ram and cannot mine ETH. So I've spent all my money on a GTX 1080 Ti but my hashrate is ~30MH/s.
So, if I would have two GTX 1060 3GB ram I would exceed the 1080 Ti for a fraction of money? Smiley))

I did some tests with my GTX1060 @ 1536 / 2250 @ 0.8V. With XMR-Stack I can mine ~500 H/s XMR with only 40W power consumption, i. e. 12.5W/Hash. I think that's awesome. With fan almost inaudible @50% temps never go over 45°C. With 3 of these cards I could make 1.5kH/s @ 120W, quite good. The card has Samsung modules, any experience on how high they can clock on the 1060?

Ubuntu 14.04 in my case. I've moved this 15mhs to other places - trouble in card. It constantly show 15mhs in places where other cards of this model shows 19mhs.

Does your slow 1060 have hynix ram?

Hello,

I'm thinking about building a rig on GTX 1060 6Go and i was wondering what power supply do i need for this ? I'll have a 1300 W for the mobo, the risers the ssd etc and an additionnal 1200W for the GPUs only like this one http://www.parallelminer.com/product/hp-1200-watt-power-supply-kit-for-gpu-mining-platinum-94-zec-dash-eth/

And there's also a concers about the number of 6pins I need, is it one 8pins and one 6 pins per gpus ?

THanks!

What can be expected from a GTX 1060 in doing XMR mining, compared to a RX470 or RX570? I've read that some RX470 can do up to 800, my RX570 just makes about 500 at stock speed and BIOS.

Witch card is mining low hashrate, connect the monitor from hdmi. A few second later it will rise hashrate of gpu

What is better in term of hashrate and power consumption, 6gb or 3gb?
Can I put gtx 1060s and 1070s in 1 rig? Will it cause any issues?
Thanks, I'm a noob, trying to learn as much as I can.

i get 125 m/h for 5x gtx 1070 asus turbos with slight oc, did get it up to 135 but lost config and tried again and crashed.

i get the best h/s rates on sibcoin, 60 m/s and zcash about 2.2k sols. lbry can never hit expected hash rate.

sia blake 2 get about 8100 m/hs.

temperatures about 77 degrees not sure on power consumption but leave as standard settings.

Btw i remembred there was a huge different on drivers to, check mines and yours. I haven't modded it, stock bios. I think i have this model:
https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GeForce-GTX-1060-6GT/dp/B01LZYPEHK/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1497172628&sr=8-1&keywords=MSI+GEFORCE+GTX+1060+6GT+OCV1&linkCode=ll1&tag=mylifegadgets-20&linkId=ab86dc958251df5a775fc6796e4d55db

Mby thats help:

Hei,

I have 1070, 1080 and 1080TI all are doing over 4mh/w

Well I applied your settings and improved efficiency from 3.2 to 3.5 Smiley

My hash was 360 and now 380 mh/s. Stats show 110W consumption.

One thing got my attention.

Your GPU is 1732 after +205 and mine is 2025.

My GPU stock values are 1569 base and 1785 boost clock. I have MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB card.

It boosts and then adds the value I give extra so it is 1990 on GPU-Z and 2025 on MSI AIB and Miner stats.

My core voltage is higher than yours as well.

Did you applied modified bios with a lower GPU clock and maybe lower core voltage accordingly and then increased GPU clock on AIB

or your gpu's default clock is already low because of its model?

Putting the same parameters does not go as well as you. I have a msi gaming 3 .. how did you get off the vcore without touching the curves Huh

My GTX1060 6GB DGb-Skein

324mh/s.

So your stats show me I am spending 1.57 times more power (71W-->112W) but only get 1.11 times more hash (324mh/s-->360mh/s)

Your efficiency is way higher as 4.6mh/@ vs 3.2 mh/W.

Would you share your settings for TDP, GPU, Mem clock, miner you are using  and any other settings?

These look very good power saving&efficient hash values.
