MSI GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X

DGB-Skein result:

MSI AIB settings: TDP:%70 GPU Clock=+100 Mem=-502 Core Voltage:%0 Temp:70 Fan:Auto

Miner is Alexis78.

Mem clok is all the way down as I read for skein it is OK to lower MEM and OC the GPU as much as it can get but for ZcashOC both GPU and Mem.

ZCash result:

MSI AIB settings: GPU:+100 Mem:+400 TDP:%70 Hash:313-315 Sol/s --PEC shows: 115-118W GPU Wall Reading : 155-156W

Miner is EBWF 3.0.3b

I can increase my hash rate to 322-325 sols with +200 GPU clock %75 TDP and power increases a bit as to 124W on pec stats and 160-162W on wall reading.

So far I prefer giving GPU +100 as I do not know much about Nvidia GPU overclocking but just applying some settings I read mostly on this forum.

Can it handle higher clocks just +200, +250? To be able to give this numbers should I increase TDP or give some core voltage?

Would it worth the increased consumption?

Any comments and ideas are appreciated.

Happy and profitable mining all.

1500 sol |450W System  | 6 Cards 1060 6GB GTX |

Afterburner power at 55,  Mem at +150, +500  |   Windows 10 , Gigabyte Windforce seems to be the best when it comes to Watt and fan noise. Also use Gainward and MSI  OCV1 .

Low power settings because of 0,26$ energy costs and noise. Energy meter at wall says 450W

i think the new 1060 with more gbps is worth it the 6gb version, the old 3gb version not so much, because it's very hard to resell in the future when you want to change for volta gpu, my hashrate are the same reported on yiimp bench, it depend on the miner you use too, alexis is faster on average
what about the system? As lot of people are reporting linux is way better with nvidia

Hello,

I get 19 MHS and 275 sols with MSI GTX 1060 3 GB with +580 memory clock +150 core clock +72 power limit.

I can not make more than +600 memory, as windows crashes.
I read many people are doing +850+950.

Am i missing some thing? I am newbie for Nvidia.

Should we adjust timings like poloris like AMD RX? How can i improve?

Thank you for your answers

GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB on Windows 10

Equihash: 295 h/s
Ethash: 19 MH/s
Neoscrypt: 755 Kh/s (important: use the ccminer-neosrypt-win-1.5.8.0)
LBRY: 185 MH7s
Cryptonight: 430 h/s
Blake2s: 2550 MH/s
Lyra2v2: 22,5 MH/s
Myriad-Groestl: 40 MH/s (important: use the ccminer-1.2-x15-windows)

Don´t rely only (its a hint, but most time it differs for me) on sites like www.whattomine.com or www.coinwarz.com for the best coins to mine.

The best returns i got from multipools like www.miningpoolhub.com and www.zpool.ca and ming coins like DGB, FTC and XVG (also at the moment).

Quite constant betwenn 110-123W, depends on algorithm.

due to shortage of AMD 4xx and 5xx cards I'm thinking to get hands on Nvidia, the cheapest option in local stores is Asus DUAL-GTX1060-03G. I wanted to buy one and test it out, also there are still some hopes to get 5xx series in the end of this month.
So here's a question if anyone can help me and answer on this, what is the real power of Asus DUAL-GTX1060-03G, 1060 3Gs in overall?
I googled around and people are reporting 19-24Mh/s on eth and 200h/s+ on zec, how correct is this? I want someone who has these cards to answer me just to be sure.
Also I was reading that they work better on linux based systems,
any help would be much appreciated

Hi @Igloczek ,

maybe your GTX-1060-3 is running at a higher return (with 305W from wall)

@PanneKopp actually my 1060-3 mine faster than yours 1060-6 Smiley
It takes 305W from the wall (with more powerful CPU), but eletricicty cost only 0.10$/kWh, so I don't care about trimming down power consumption that much.

but my concept is much more efficient with only 230W from wall,
when mining equihash my unit is about 3.2 - 3.5 SOL/Watt (~570 SOL).

... if I´d get your cheap energy-prices, I´d throw many old (ROIed) cards on the table again.

120 *2 * 116% = 243 Wh
