If you requested a refund up until they started shipping they were refunding people, I know I got a refund.

That doesn't stop it being illegal in consumer law to not refund for everyone else??? I'm not sure exactly what you're complaining about here, but of course its me being biased isn't it.....

No mate, just discussing it. No offence intended.

Thanks for this list.  I'd argue with Bitmine: "Refund Issues? Some 5/10"

Bitmine has only made some token refunds to give people false hope.  The majority appear to not have received refunds:

http://www.bitminerefund.com

I know people after me in the queue have been refunded.  They are picking select users to refund as a stall tactic.  They've told many users on this forum they will be refunded "in 2 weeks", and we haven't been.  I've been told that 2 or three times now.  My refund was due May 5th. Many clients fall into the same category as this.

This falls into the category of:
"1/10   = Yes - refunds significantly delayed or not being processed at all. Includes stall tactics."

Some refunds have been paid, so that's the category they fit in to. I have no control over this, that's how the system works and it applies to everyone.

Don't look at refund sites like this. People rush to get submitted but will rarely go back to the site to say they've been refunded. They have refund issues, they've also refunded some people.

And yet KnC who have been refunding (albeit slowly) on a regular basis, for months, and in most cases in BTC to the benefit of the customer, don't rate a some?

KnC was punished further for using the Franken module swap as a delaying tactic from the BFL playbook in order to delay actually issuing refund and reducing the number of refunds due. That falls under delaying tactics.

But that's not a cold, clinical, numerical system. They were still refunding people who wanted them, if you requested a refund up until they started shipping they were refunding people, I know I got a refund. It took a few months but it came through in spades. If you were stupid enough to get a frankenjup then thats your choice. Some people actually got them to work pretty well. I don't see how they are like BFL, when did they ever provide something equivalent? They just don't supply miners or refunds at all.

The numerical rating is much better than the previous rating.

As you said above, all of the ratings and certain for the ratings are posted for the public to view.  This is a much better system.

Huh

Yes, companies must ship quantity to customers first, which is what the ratings are based off:

how about spondoolies now? not mentioning the unprofessional behaviour they had towards AM, just the underperforming SP30s they presold and the classic "one-month delay".. + the overpriced preorders for "september" (ie. at least october) batches...

Everyones been offered cash refunds have they not, same as S3s? I don't see any difference. Preorders are already costing them 19 points.

Price is irrelevant, if its overpriced then don't buy it, unless someone is specifically targeting uninformed buyers with advertising to take advantage.

Fair enough i wasnt aware of such refunds although i suspect it not to be very effective. Anyway, would it then be interesting to add $/gh ranges for each manufacturers regarding the overpricing issue?

S-Tech will be monitored over the next couple of weeks to see what happens.

Price is irrelevant to this because its a choice the consumer makes. What is relevant is that products are delivered on time as per agreed.

I think the offer is for the original price   $$$/gh for the group buy on bitcoin talk for last 1/2 of august it was stated 0.83/gh will be the same BUT
the 500 watts in power usage the sp30 unit will take to get 4.5 TH vs the initial 6TH they had on the site product page..they are pretty quiet about
compensating for that and some question on 120v use of this unit now...no news on that yet..also this will only be paid out ...
....this refund option in some manner in OCT 2014...

the extra heat/data center rates on elec/cost of that extra elec and getting rid of heat if you are a home miner/etc may still be somewhat unsatisfactory
to the customer ....the were quick and upfront so right now most customers are waiting for more clarification on this whole thing...not sure if more then
meeting the $$$/gh previously will be compensated for in some manner...

and they also say this will NOT effect timeline of the product getting out into the wild just the speed loss and power increase ...should be resolved for sp30
units coming out in OCT...I think it was

anyway corrections welcome for those with better/more concrete info.. ...but this is what I THINK I konw on this at this time..

I think they should be added as soon as they come out with a competitive product that is shipping in mass, not for shipping a handful of outdated miners.

If avalon was removed for not directly selling miners for a month, why should biostar make the list? I can't even find a place to purchase a biostar miner.

Yeah nevermind, they'll be added if they actually ship in quantity in the future.

He doesn't have to add them to the list right now, just should keep an eye on them. They may not have anything to buy at this moment, but have produced stuff in the past and from their recent post we know they are working on stuff for the future.

Biostar seemed genuinely interested in btc mining and receiving feedback about their product in the other thread. The reason their btc-24gh feel so short is they had to come up with funding for their "bitcoin" division and developed using 110nm to keep costs down. It was also their first time making an ASIC. They hinted about working on a REV2 board. It wouldn't take much for them to produce a miner that competes with the rest.

I think you should look into adding biostar to the list. They hinted in the thread about their btc-24gh that they may be working on more btc stuff. So far they have produced a bitcoin motherboard for gpu rigs and 1 asic. I think we will be seeing more from them in the future. Extra exposure to what they already have may help shift things into a higher gear.

What's the point of adding them to this list?

They are already a reputable and very well known hardware manufacturer.

If anything, adding it would just mislead people into thinking they have a competitive product especially because they will probably earn 10/10 on each category while having sold next to nothing.
