Excellent guide!  And I like how it is updated.

I wish I learned about it sooner.  I first found out via a link on another thread about an hour ago.

i too thought so and i checked the guide before i went to a website- i then did business with the business and lost money... i then contacted dogie and sent tx id... he then responded you got scammed by a scammer- well no duh... thats why i let him know and he refused to lower the rating... so its kinda useless, when its right its just coincidence it has no true meaning

Add this guy to ignore lists, he added a scammer to skype, sent them money now wants me to downvote the actual legitimate business.

I WENT TO THE WEBSITE- THE WEBSITE ON THIS LIST - just proved my point- still havent addressed the obvious- i would have to go to the website to get the skype name- the website has a skype icon to click on which generates an automatic connection to the websites personal, implying i got hold of a scammer would mean that i then did a search for the name of the icon before me which makes no sense - so the scammer existed within the company- so i let this guy know and as you see he has other interests or he would want this info and make practical observations- not excuses - so just be warned any time he is correct it is just coincidence not because he has done his due diligence or accepted feedback based on tx id - just right to the "you got scammed" without thinking it through- the implication is that i would not have used the website-but if i did not then i wouldnt have seen the product that i wanted and even known of the skype name to search for ---definately irrational, no apologies for his mistake and has been rude- ignore me all you want so i dont get replies from people who would have similar erroneous thought processes

What website did you go to?  Don't tell me you added or typed the wrong skype name of the seller, and are blaming Dogie's guide for leading the way?

if your joking haha, if your not-thats my whole point- i never typed shit- in order to type i would need to know what to type- so i would have to go to the website-the website has a skype icon- so you just click on it--thats it-you dont do a search for a skype name that is in front of your face when you just have to click on the icon to make the connection-to talk to the personal about the item for sale on the website---its soooooo absurd it makes no sense--so dogie says (to keep the sweet deals he gets) that "you got a scammer" ... and he says it as if that means the scammer was somehow seperate from the business.... which makes no sense... how would the scammer have access to the skype connections generated by the website-that would be even more egregious

yep, It's a very good index to what not to do. I wish it was more popular tho. If only we could channel some of the vast quantities of hate of BFL, we'd get it on top 10 all the time Smiley

Lightning ASIC promoted to A.

I did look at the rating of Lightningasic on your page .... which shows a A rating ... I would think of such an A rating as a good customer service, a good packaging of products and a refund policy ....

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.7050270

I'm not sure if that rating represents the reality ... to be honest ...

Still absolutely nothing from BlackArrow. No mails, no miners, no refunds, no answers, no nothing.
These good for nothing crooks screwed over all of us and give absolutely no information on what's going on ..

I'm not sure why I'm expecting a reply on this scam really ...

Yup, stall tactics and long confidence tricks like you read and hear about.  Almost Butterfly Labs level of incompetence and negligence...

Hey dogie, I like your rating system, just never had a reason to comment in this thread though.

I was wondering did you decide to only include SHA asics? I would love to see ratings for Scrypt asic companies as well. You have Lightningasic on there, but there is GAW, Zeus, Hashra, Alpha-t etc.

Of which none of them are shipping. They will be added if/when they become active.

Hey, I saw this message and wanted to tell you that they are shipping. GAW is actually sending a few hundred packages every week and have a large number of miners in stock.
Here's a photo session by one of the buyers.

this is so fucked, useless thread and this guy is rude

I'm doing my best, everyone has differing opinions.

Just clarify the status on Avalon. If they don't exist remove them. If this new entity with the good people remains but doesn't sell product then it doesn't really matter does it for your ratings. As for the RUDE SOB who keeps trolling let em rot.

That company no longer exists, that team no longer exists. For the last 7-8 months they've done nothing but sell in hand hardware, zero preorders, zero problems with warranties, RMAs, delays etc.

I've lost you on that one. What do you mean that company no longer exists? If that's so, why don't you remove them from your list?

Don't they sell products under the same name? They do, and that name should get what it deserved, not the B+ rating.

The company people want to chase with torches and pitchforks was run by Yifu. He hasn't been there for a year, nor the money. There are just engineers there, the people who built the first ASIC. Avalon today as well doesn't exist, they sell via a different company and not to the western markets.

They still sell...I think the best move is rate them how they deserve to be.  The goal is help people with hardware decisions?  They should see a bad rating and know those guys are horrible to do business with regardless if they can't scam on these boards anymore.

Please do not take my criticism the wrong way...I love that you have created this to help people.  I also think that it is great for hardware vendors to send you stuff for reviews, but I just feel that B+ is just out of line is all  Undecided

This... imo credibility in general takes a hit with something like this..

For the record, reviews has absolutely no standing on this trustworthiness guide, at all. In fact if you trace back the dates of the Avalon review, I subsequently denied their promotion and then froze their standing for being inactive in the western markets. They do not sell here, and so are not active.

There will always be a split of opinion on Avalon, and its not something I can solve. Bad things happened, everyone lost out. That company no longer exists, that team no longer exists. For the last 7-8 months they've done nothing but sell in hand hardware, zero preorders, zero problems with warranties, RMAs, delays etc. I can't penalise a company that

1) is not active in the market the guide is regarding
2) no longer exists
3) has done nothing but good things for a time period far greater than the guide is designed to reflect.

And again for the record, I lost more than 40x from the Avalon problems then I gained from any review. Fuck it, I wouldn't be poor if B2 had arrived on time, but it didn't. I am not biased in any way.
