im a little bit confused. is it right that when i want a buying and selling bot i need to fill out both trade bots? For example trade bot 1 is in buying mode and trade bot 2 is in selling mode? Or is it possible that trade bot 1 can do both the selling and buying part?

Subhead,

I forgot to mention that once the bot has been running awhile (several hours) and the top chart shows a large amount of activity, the benchmark will use that data to show how your indicator is responding.  If you just started the bot or changed the trade currency or update timer, you will have to wait.

So my question is how long do i need to run the benchmark to get any result and needs the benchmark windows to stay open or can i close the windows and the benchmarks goes on?

The amount of time it takes for results depends on the indicator used and the "update timer".  For example; if the "Update timer" is set to 60 sec and you use a PPO indicator with the default settings (12 and 26), it will take up to 26 time periods (26 * 60 sec, or 26 min in this case) for the indicator to start moving.  Then depending on the market it may make a transaction right away, or it may take quite awhile.  So if you have a long period set in the "update timer", say 5 min, the same indicator would take 5 * 26 min or 130 min or 2hr 10 min.

Is anyone else having the problem where the bot will simply refuse to sell ? Last night my bot bought PPC @ 4.5, and should have sold @ 4.6 (this is what the benchmark indicates), yet it didn't and now PPC has dropped to 4.3, putting me in the red. Has anyone else ever seen this, where the bot doesn't sell, when it actually should ? I'm using PPO+RSI currently.

just an small update:

I tried to reinstall the software, disable and re-enable the api key and disable re-enable the api itself. nothing worked so far for me.

edit: transfered the funds to btc-e and the api test works flaweless. Cryptsy still not work for me.

edit2: After messing around with this software for around two hours i didnt get any benchmark to do anything. i want to trade LtcBtc and taken the "Simple & fast strategy" settings stephan mentioned here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.3742065

So my question is how long do i need to run the benchmark to get any result and needs the benchmark windows to stay open or can i close the windows and the benchmarks goes on?

Hi,

i bought the bot tonight and i got some problems saving the cryptsy api key. Is there any btc balance limit that i need on my cryptsy account? For testing purpose i have at the moment only BTC 0.0758 in my account and got the following error when testing the api key.

http://i.imgur.com/fg0i1Vs.png

thanks for any help.

Strange. The error messange seems to say; "connection success?: yes" and states your balance as "BTC balance: 0.0758" (which is correct). When you click OK and save the settings, does the API work like normal?

Hi,

Yesterday, I set up my bot to try out the "Last buy and sell price reset (time-out)".  To keep my losses to a minimum in case something went wrong, I set the "Trade Amount" to 0.1 BTC.  I used the "PPO" indicator and noticed that the bot would normally trade within 30 minutes, so I set the timer for the "Last buy and sell price reset (time-out)" to 1800 sec (30 min).

After letting it run for a few hours, everything seem to go okay.  Looking at the "Trade Log", it appeared that I may have made a small profit (maybe a dollar).  The timeout only reset the last buy and sell once for a small loss, but overall everything looked okay.

It wasn't until I looked at the history on BTC-e that I noticed that I actually had a small loss (about a dollar), so I started comparing the buy and sell prices.  The following is a comparison of some of the trades that should have had a profit:

Bought   Sold         Target Sell   Bought    Sold      Profit
                                          (History)   (History)
-85.0000   85.1570   85.1700   -85.0000   84.9867   -0.0130
-85.1570   85.2820   85.3273   -85.1570   85.1114   -0.0453
-85.1899   85.3010   85.3603   -85.1899   85.3469   -0.0593
-85.7750   85.8116   85.9465   -85.7750   85.7392   -0.1349
-85.5010   85.9789   85.6720   -85.5010   85.8069    0.3069
-86.0000   86.1000   86.1720   -86.0000   85.9278   -0.0720

The first 2 columns are taken from the "Trade Log" on the bot.  The third column is the calculated "Target Sell Price".  The "Bought (History)" and "Sold (History)" columns are taken from my trade history on BTC-e.  "Sold (History)" is the "Sold" price with the Fee taken out. The profit column is simply the difference between the "Bought (History)" and "Sold (History)".

It appears that the bot often sold for less than the Target Sell price!

Is it possible that this discrepancy is caused by the price changing slightly between the sell order and the actual execution of the order?

Thanks,

Darrell

No i am sorry, but i need to change the old plans because i am trying to make a legal company out of this. This requires from me to innovate and setup everything properly according to the law(s) and things like that. This is what i am working on at the background right now. I am also preparing my "new" website and things like that. Its my target to be fully ready in the beginning of January 2014.

For all the current (and new users in december 2013) the Simple Trade Bot will remain the almost same till January 2014. No big things will come, besides some things i have promised before.

In January 2014 when everything is in place i will be doing 2 things: First i will release the Advanced Bot, this bot will support trading with a unlimited amount of trade-bots. Secondly, i will give all the existing users of the Simple Trade Bot a huge update. I will be introducing lots new features and things to improve the trading in overall. Due this huge update i need to go up a little bit in price for the Simple Trade Bot. So new people who come in and after January 2014 will need to pay more for the same software. (Sorry, but it will be worth it. Take my word in that)

I can imagine people thinking i am crazy doing this, giving a huge update of the Simple Trade Bot away (again). But besides what people can read at the forums... you should see what i receive in my mailbox. I get suggestions and compliments every day. I am very proud of this and i am trying to implement as much things as possible. In return of the suggestions everybody gets updated and well you get the picture here. Smiley

To get a price indication to the Advanced Bot... it will be about 2.5-3x the price of the Simple Trade Bot.

When the launch happens in January there will be some public reviews directly available at some big websites. This way everybody can see what to expect from this new generation of Trade-Bots i will be offering.

BTW
There is Trial version planned anymore. It can be hacked to easy and it would be the perfect target for scammers. They are already using my software to spread there trojan horces and keyloggers. Sad

Maybe another reason why i do not think a trial version is not even needed is because this software has a solid reputation. I am not a good marketeer (thats why i use affiliates), but if you backtrack some things and specifications you can see this software was truly worlds first (i started in May 2013 selling it), still no other competitor (same price range) is offering the same capabilities (check the indicator possibilities!) and so on. Just look and compare yourself. And check reputations. I will not call names because it is not fair, but i have spoken a lot of mad people.

I would lie if i tell i have no unsatisfied users myself. Some people just do not get it and maybe thats my fault because i can not describe things very good. I think in images and thats makes writing sometimes hard. But i am making progress, i have somebody doing the documentation already for the new generation of trade-bots. This new documentation will be much better readable in English and i hope this solves it all. (of course i do not expect this, there will always be some unsatisfied users)

Hi Stephan! I'm really considering buying your program after reading this thread. But i do have some questions first:

Regarding the advanced bot: In your first post you are saying that you will not disclose any detailled information on it at this moment. Could you nevertheless maybe give us just a small outlook on the features of the advanced version? According to your website the advanced trade bot will offer unlimited trade-bots. Could you tell us some other differences apart from that? The reason i'm asking is mainly that i don't want to "waste" money on the Simple Trade Bot now, when there is an advanced/better version coming out soon.

And i guess the advanced bot will cost more than the simple one? Do you have an idea yet how much more? And will you offer a discount for people that bought the simple bot?

I just can't decide if i should buy the simple one now, or wait for the advanced one?! Some hints on the new features/price would be really helpful! :>

At the current moment there is no Demo or Trial version availible. I am working on a trial version, but that one is planned for mid December 2013.

That's a quote from litecointalk.org. Are you still planning to release a trial version mid-December? I think a trial version that allows to configure all the settings and indicators and to use the benchmark tool (while not allowing any real trades at all) would be great!

I have received some questions from people how got scared by looking to my domain. I know it looks i will be offline from the first of January 2014, but this is not true. In fact, i will give it a try to start a real company offering this software and my domain is just moving. Thats why you see the expire date.

In January more things will happen, i have a huge suprice in store for all the Simple Bot users. There will be a update, an update you have never seen before. Some of you know what i did before when we went from v0.8 to v0.9. Well this is what you can expect. I will not disclose more hits about this. But it will be big.

In January 2014 i will also be releasing the Advanced Bot. Smiley

Something else... i have posted this link before but i will do it again. I did make a start to describe how you can get started with the Simple Trade Bot. For this i did wrote 2 articles and now i have also released part 3. If you are a user and you want to get some more information, please have a look. As far as i know this pages has helped a lot of people before on the mail.

http://www.haasonline.com/trading-strategies/

I saw a lot of posts, i will read them to see if there is anything in it that i could use to make improvements. As you may have seen already at my website, support for MtGox is coming at the next version. Thats for sure now, it has been tested and approved. I am now looking into some minor issues and if they are solved i will release a new version. The expected release date is this weekend, sunday. Smiley

......if you have adjusted the settings in that window then you are taking a risk, there is no way around it.

There is by taking feedback from users and developing the software further to take advantage of the drop loss.  For example, drop loss triggers a set of indicators which results in sell during crash and buying back in during the recovery = profit

Hi,
Personaly I wouldnt use the drop loss, but that is my personal choice. Read the warning in that window "changes can result in huge losses" since I dont want any losses I have not changed ANYTHING in that window. That is the only way to prevent lossses, if you have adjusted the settings in that window then you are taking a risk, there is no way around it.

"Now again watched as three green signal to buy burned for at least one minute, and the bot never bought."
did you check the debug log? do you have enough coins or fiat to make the buy? is there a problem with the api or exchange? there are a lot of possilbe reasons why it did not buy.

", I want the bot to consistently produce profits in dollars and the amount of Bitcoins At least not decrease."

If you want this then do not trade with $ , trade btc/ltc or another currency IMHO.

If anyone wants , PM me and I can give you a 2 settings to try out, or we can trade settings and test them out.

"Not sure of the question.  As I see it...all your sell prices are higher than previous buy price.  There are no unprofitable trades?"

Well like the others have said, it really depends on what you want. If you trade for $ then it could be hard to get back in with more bitcoin. Try trading against another crypto or on cryptsy with the ltc and xpm markets.

"API access to bter.com would be great." yea that is a good idea.

"And again, strange things. Huh
I manually sold for 906, bot put checkbox on the Buy position. All is well, then I saw that all indicators pointed to buy at 900 - but bot bought for 910??? what could be the problem?
edit:
Just now I see completely wrong Trading strategy: Sell lower, Buy Higher  Sad
Another bot settings is 600sec. but at benchmark I see same thing: bot allways buy at higher price"
I think the only way for that to happen is if you did something in the advanced settings. I have dont NOTHING in the advanced settings because I dont fully understand them. I would put a really small ammount in 2 extra bots with different advanced settings to see what happens. You could also use a cheap currency on cryptsy or something just to test live trading.

That it Smiley
The fact that no matter where and how you trade. I know one thing, that the bot is must to replace me so I did not sit and watched the charts. For this, I bought it. I do not demand from the bot to catch the bottom for buy and sale for the top, I want the bot to consistently produce profits in dollars and the amount of Bitcoins At least not decrease.

im sorry but i must disagree, i dont really care about USD what im trying to get more of is BTC

i foresee the value of USD declining in the future and the value of BTC increasing thus i want to acquire more btc , not dollars

I guess simple trade bot does not implement shorting btc positions. It only supports long positions. The stoploss feature only works for longs, there is no way to stoploss your shorts. The way the benchmark is done is also only for longs in the way it calculates profits. At the start of the benchmark the position is always sold, etc.  Undecided
